Chapter 224
Chapter 224
When Jessica and Terry walked out of the steakhouse to the parking lot, they happened to run into some students sending out questionnaires. Jessica and Terry were stopped. “Mister, Miss, can you please fill out some questionnaires for us?”
“Sure.”
Jessica was in a good mood today, so she agreed. That was not something she would normally take a fancy to.
She took over the pen and filled it out.
Seeing that, Terry did the same.
More than ten seconds later, Jessica and Terry were both done. They were about to leave when a girl took out a bag and asked, “Thank you guys for your help. Here are some little gifts.”
Jessica did not take them over. “Thanks, but no thanks.”
The girl seemed to be a little disappointed. On the side, Terry suddenly chimed in, “You got us wrong. This beautiful lady here is not my girlfriend. Any other choices we have?”
Hearing that, the girl seemed to be delighted yet also a little embarrassed when she looked at Jessica, but she still happily handed her small bag to Jessica. “I’m sorry, Miss. I misunderstood. We have other gifts. You can choose whichever you like.”
Jessica paused a bit. She didn’t expect that Terry would explain it. After all, the three students were just strangers to them.
Besides, Terry had been chasing her for so long. He should be very happy when the girl thought they were a couple. A misunderstanding like this was irrelevant. He didn’t have to explain it, but he did. He could have delighted himself by pretending to be Jessica’s boyfriend, but he didn’t.
It seemed that he was helping the girl, but he was also helping Jessica out.
Jessica looked at him with mixed feelings.
“Anything you like?”
Jessica came back to her senses and smiled as she chose a cute keychain. “This is very cute, thank you.”
“My pleasure. You helped us first.”
Jessica looked at the round-faced girl in front of her and couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows.
What an innocent adorable girl!
As she spoke, the girl handed her bag to Terry again.
Terry glanced at the keychain in Jessica’s hands and also chose a keychain. “Thank you.”
The two walked quietly for more than ten seconds, and after crossing the road, the parking lot was only a hundred meters away.
Terry looked down at the keychain in his hand and said, “I’m a little stuffed. Shall we take a walk?”
Jessica couldn’t refuse Terry’s request when he asked her in a soft tone.
What’s more, she was a little stuffed, too. “Sure.”
“I haven’t seen you in a while. What are you doing these days?” Jessica asked.
“I went to see a friend,” Terry said vaguely.
Jessica frowned slightly. “A friend?”
Terry smiled at her as if explaining, “A male friend. He just returned to LA recently. He has been studying abroad.” This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
“I didn’t expect you to have a student friend.” Jessica smiled.

“He is not a real student, either. It was just that he made a mistake a few years ago, so he had to leave LA.” Terry said, looking forward. Jessica didn’t know what he was thinking about.
Jessica wasn’t that curious at all, so she only made a general comment. “People make mistakes. What matters is to correct them.”
Terry’s eyebrows twitched as if he had thought of something. He asked, “You are saying one can be forgiven as long as he corrects his mistake? No matter what kind of mistake it is?”
“Well…” Jessica paused. She thought of Olivia and Justin. Her eyes turned cold. “That depends on whether this mistake harms others or not.”
With that, Terry put on a mixed look. But in the end, he didn’t say anything else.
“Things don’t seem to be going well. Do you need my help?”
Terry suddenly spoke up. Jessica paused a bit before she turned to him and smiled. “Are you always this helpful?”
“Would you believe me if I said I was cold-hearted to others?”
Jessica raised her eyebrows. “I don’t believe it.”
Terry smiled as if he did not mind. “Oh, you will believe it in the future.”
Jessica smiled faintly. “It seems that you are not a good person.”
Hearing that, Terry laughed. “Jessica, I never said I was a good person.”
Terry was silent for a moment before adding, “But you don’t have to worry. I will never hurt you.”
The word “never” didn’t seem real to Jessica. She didn’t respond to that. Instead, Jessica changed the topic and said, “I’d like to head back early today. Let’s go.”
“Okay.”
Terry glanced at her and brought her back the way they had come.
