Chapter 266
Chapter 266
Oscar knew that Lucas would definitely look down on him, but he did not care. With the help of Louis, he had already obtained a management position in the Thomas Group.
"How is it, Oscar?" Louis followed Oscar to his office. Every time he saw his kid with Amanda, he felt proud.
Louis found himself useful. He just helped his son get a position.
Oscar turned to look at Louis, and the corners of his mouth curled into a self-mocking smile. "Dad, you have to know that the entire Thomas Group will finally fall into our grip."
"What are you talking about, Oscar!" Louis panicked when he heard that. He then hurriedly looked around to see if anyone was listening.
"Dad, what are you nervous about? You are grandpa's only son. The Thomas Group should have been yours."
"That may be true, but the Thomas Group is in your brother's hands now," Louis said awkwardly.
Louis wanted to make money, but he also knew he was not capable enough to run the Thomas Group.
"But Lucas has no respect for you," Oscar said lightly. "Don't worry, dad. I'll take back what belongs to us sooner or later. Even grandpa can't stop me."
Louis somehow shivered at Oscar's expression.
Although Oscar boasted in front of Louis, he soon found that he was just a manager with no real power. He could not reach the core business of the Thomas Group, and a lot of information was blocked.
Through his own connections, Louis made some of the company's executives support Oscar to join the Thomas Group.
These people would like to see the scene where Oscar could be on par with Lucas.
The pressure on Oscar grew.
After only a week at the Thomas Group, Oscar could no longer take it. He grabbed the car key and went to Terry's place.
Jessica's life gradually settled down. She and Hannah, as well as her other friends, would occasionally go to Mona's club to meet up, but everybody tried not to mention Lucas.
What Hannah did not know was that Jessica would inadvertently click on the news about Lucas when she was at work.
Today, Jessica replied to emails as usual.
When she opened the web page and began to browse the latest news, there was a sudden knock on the door of the office.
"Come in," Jessica said.
"Miss Hall." Wendy pushed the door open and entered, holding a signed document in her hand. She went to Jessica's desk and wanted to say something but hedged.
"What's wrong, Wendy? If you have something to say, just say it. You're always straightforward and I appreciate that." Jessica believed that she knew Wendy well after they had been working together for quite some time.
"Here's the thing, Miss Hall." Wendy put down the document in her hand and looked at Jessica. "I went to Howard Company today. You know, it is near the Davison Group, so I parked my car in the parking lot of the Davison Group. There, I saw someone."
"Who?" Jessica was interested.
"It's a higher-up executive of the Thomas Group, Oscar." Wendy said.
"Oscar?" Jessica was deep in thought.
The changes in the Thomas Group were no longer a secret. Louis had already become the subject of gossip by the public for his illegitimate kid.
Oscar's name always appeared in the gossip of Los Angeles.
Jessica really couldn't figure out why he went to the Davison Group. Who was he looking for?
Right the next day, Jessica got the answer.
The next morning, Hannah sent a news link to her. Jessica clicked on it and saw that it was actually a collaboration project between the Davison Group and the Thomas Group.
Then, Jessica received a call from Hannah. Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Jessica, what do you think is going on? Terry and Lucas are getting along now?" Hannah asked.
"Did you read the news? It says that the person who made the partnership with the Davison Group is Oscar." Jessica didn't know what to comment on Hannah's carelessness.
"Oh, sure. How did he get into a relationship with Terry?" Hannah exclaimed.
"I don't know, either," Jessica said flatly.
