Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1733

Adler was desperately trying to catch Sophie's eye, hoping against hope she wouldn't leave him to deal with this awkward situation alone.

"Alright," Sophie said, giving Colby's hand a reassuring squeeze. "We've got a flight to catch, let's get moving." She handed her bag over to Colby, signaling it was time to go.

Just then, Jenna burst in from outside the press conference, exclaiming, "Sophie! Colby! What took you so long? The car's been waiting forever!" Their golden retriever, Dawn, perked up at the sight of his 'parents' and bounded over, his tail wagging like crazy. In the two years since they'd had him, Dawn had grown into a strong, healthy dog. Sophie bent down to give him a pat, smiling as she said, "We're all heading on vacation soon, Dawn. Are you excited?"

"Woof! Woof!" Dawn barked happily, as if he understood every word.

Seeing Jenna, Adler rushed over, gently supporting her. "Come on, you're going to be a mom soon. Why are you still so careless? What if you tripped while you're out alone?"

Jenna, with her chic short hair and noticeable baby bump, looked effortlessly stylish. "Dawn's got my back. He didn't let anyone get too close," she said with a grin.

"Smart pup!" Adler chuckled, proud of their golden retriever. He'd always known Dawn was a clever dog. When Sophie got busy with work, he and Jenna took turns taking care of him. Now, Dawn was protective of the little one Jenna was carrying, truly a dog with a heart of gold.

"You two enjoy your vacation," Adler teased Colby with a nudge. "We've already sped past you guys; you're lagging behind!"

Jenna and Adler had tied the knot two years ago, and now, with the baby due in just four months, Adler was constantly anxious, worrying Jenna might trip or bump into something.

Sophie cleared her throat, smiling as she said, "I heard that! Just to be clear, we're going on a vacation, not a baby-making trip!"

"I get it, I get it!" Adler replied with a mischievous grin. Jenna gave his ear a playful tug, saying, "You don't have a clue! Now, go get the car and stop making a scene."noveldrama

"Ouch, ouch! Take it easy, honey!" Adler said, though he followed Jenna outside without missing a beat, clearly in good spirits.

"Dawn, let's go," Sophie said, watching as Dawn happily wagged his tail, leading the way.

As they walked, Colby suddenly asked, "Sophie, do you... want kids?"

Sophie turned, noticing Colby seemed deep in thought. "Me? I'm just going with the flow," she replied. "If you're worried, we don't have to

rush into anything. With Dawn and you, I'm already pretty happy."

Colby stayed silent, lost in his thoughts. For the past two years, they'd taken precautions to avoid having children. Sophie knew Colby was concerned about passing on his emotional struggles, worried they might have a child facing similar challenges.

So she never pushed the issue, nor did she bring it up. Even without kids, she felt content with their life together.

Once they boarded the plane, Sophie quickly drifted off to sleep, feeling at peace.
