Chapter 1742
"Hold up, Jenna and I have had kids for ages, and he never dashed over with gifts like this. Something's fishy! This can't be for us," Alex said, raising an eyebrow. Sophie thought for a moment, then said, "Hmm... I think they are for us."
Adler looked confused. "Wait, how does Odie know you're pregnant? How long has it been? Two days?"
Sophie blinked and replied, "Didn't you see Colby's post?"noveldrama
Adler quickly pulled out his phone. Colby had only posted twice: one was about his marriage to Sophie, and the other was an ultrasound of Sophie. "Dude, don't you know? You're not supposed to spill the beans until you're at least three months in! It's risky!"
Hearing that, the plate slipped from Colby's hands and crashed to the floor.
Adler, seeing Colby's reaction, knew the clueless guy had no idea about this golden rule. Otherwise, he wouldn't have posted about it so soon, right? "Did you seriously not know? Have the last two months of research been for nothing?"
"...The parenting books didn't cover that."
Adler rubbed his forehead in disbelief. At Colby's age, he was still relying on books! Had he never heard of a quick Google search?
"Alright, it's not a big deal. I'm feeling good, and the baby will be fine," Sophie reassured, gently touching her belly.
Though it was only two months, Sophie already felt life stirring inside.
Nearby, Dawn was nosing around the box of baby supplies, pulling out a plush toy with keen interest.
Sophie patted Dawn's head and said, "If you like it, Dawn, go ahead and play with it."
Understanding her, Dawn happily nuzzled Sophie's palm and then trotted back to his little bed with the toy, contentedly playing.
"Ms. Sophie, Mr, Odie had this
airlifted to you. He specifically said
that if it's not enough, you can contact the main factory. We're currently working on infant clothing, and Mr. Odie insists on using the finest materials for the baby's clothes."
Sophie smiled and said, "Please thank Mr. Odie for me. Once the baby arrives, I'll be sure to show my gratitude."
"Sweetheart, maybe hold off on agreeing," Colby interjected, standing next to Sophie. He asked the delivery guy, "What else did he say?"
Scratching his head sheepishly, the
delivery man replied, "Mr. Odie
wondered... since Ms. Sophie accepted the gifts, if he might become the child's godfather."
en
"No way! I'm the godfather!" Adler declared, staking his claim.
"Of course!" Sophie agreed with a grin. "Whether it's Mr. Adler or Mr. Odie, they'll both be my child's godfathers."
More godfathers meant more support. Their child was going to be pampered.
"If they're the godfathers, then what about me?" Harold chimed in, walking through the door. "I think I'l skip being a godfather and be the cool uncle instead."
Sophie and the others immediately noticed the boxes of baby supplies behind Harold.
Suddenly, Sophie and Adler both felt a sinking feeling.
Harold hesitated for a moment and said, "Looks like... I might have sent mine a bit late." Adler: Is it too late to return these?
What do you think?
