Natalie rolled her eyes and said, “I don’t care what you think. If you want to apologize properly, then do it. I’m easy to talk to. If you don’t want to apologize sincerely, then just leave! I don’t want to see you.”

If Rosa had apologized right after the accident, her attitude would have been a hundred times better than it was now. Of course, Rosa’s earlier attitude toward Skylar had only made her more irritated.

Natalie wondered who Rosa thought she was to tell Skylar what to do.

Rosa’s face flushed with anger. “Fine! There’s nothing more to discuss with you.”

A deep voice interrupted just as she was about to turn and leave. “Where are you hurt?”

The moment Ned’s voice rang out, it was the reassurance Rosa had been longing for. But as soon as she heard it, her brow furrowed in annoyance. She didn’t want Ned to see Skylar. C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

Still, she turned to Ned, tears welling in her eyes as she said, “My hand and my head are injured. Luckily, it’s not too serious.”

“Why were you driving?” Ned glanced at Rosa’s injuries before coldly asking.

When they were in Murida, Rosa struggled with her driving skills and had been in several accidents. Though none were severe, they caused a lot of trouble.

Feeling a bit guilty under his questioning gaze, Rosa replied, “I didn’t expect to rear–end someone. I don’t think it’s my fault.”

“Yes, yes, you rear–ended someone because they had no right to be driving on the road. Isn’t the best scenario for you to be the only car on the highway?

“It’s a tragedy for all law–abiding drivers when a road killer like you gets behind the wheel. By the way, you’re fine while I have a concussion.” Natalie couldn’t hold back anymore, exasperated by Rosa’s ignorance.

It was obvious she had rear–ended someone, yet she still insisted it wasn’t her fault. At that moment, Ned realized there were others present in the room. He glanced at Natalie on the hospital bed.

As he was about to look away, his gaze suddenly caught on Skylar, and he froze. Their eyes locked, and Skylar felt a wave of awkwardness wash over her.

After all, she had just blocked him and thought she wouldn’t see him again. To her surprise, in the blink of an eye, they found themselves face to face once more. The coincidence struck Skylar as she thought just how small Jipsburg really was.

However, she still nodded slightly at Ned. His profound and inscrutable gaze left her unsure of

what he was thinking.

Perhaps he was concerned about Rosa’s condition after the accident. However, Skylar had no time to dwell on his thoughts.

However, Ned’s unusual glance at Skylar made Natalie sense that something was off. She blinked, realizing it couldn’t just be the lingering effects of her concussion that made her feel this way.

Ned had feelings for Skylar. When he had seen Rosa and heard about her injuries, his

expression had remained flat. But the moment he laid eyes on Skylar, his expression changed completely.

Rosa noticed Ned’s gaze fixed on Skylar. Already pale from the accident, her complexion grew even worse at the sight.

Pulling Ned close, she said, “I know I shouldn’t have driven, but I was so bored in Jipsburg. After the accident, I was really scared. I promise I won’t drive again, okay?”

“Okay,” Ned replied with a nod.

Then he turned back to Skylar. “Since the accident is clearly our fault, let’s discuss compensation.”

Skylar was taken aback by his words and the fact that he was looking at her again.

Natalie quickly chimed in, “Skylar is my best friend, so you can discuss the compensation matter directly with her.”
