Chapter 61 – Reconciliation
The next day, Jada woke up past lunchtime. It was a Sunday. When she stepped out of her room, Jada saw their friends in the living room. Everyone's there except for Lyken.
"Hi, Ja," Kobe greeted. "Lyken had to go with his parents to visit his grandparents. But I'm meeting him tonight. We're talking to a client about a new project. But don't worry, it won't get in the way of your wedding." Jada nodded at him as she sat on the couch. Steve sat next to Jada, reaching for her hand and giving it a light squeeze. "What happened to you guys?" he asked.
She lets out a sigh and starts telling them everything. They were all just listening, sighing from time to time.
"You just have to talk calmly," Kobe suggested. Jada nodded at him, and he smiled. "There's nothing the two of you can't fix. Compared to what you went through before, this is nothing."
"Exactly! Just stay calm when you talk, both of you! The last time you did, you were at each other's throats. Of course, nothing good will come out of it!" Honey scolded.
Jada only nodded at them. She's been thinking the same since last night. 'They're right. Maybe I need to listen to him. I hope he does the same.'
After the small pep talk, she asked Bambi to accompany her. She told them she just wanted to eat out to destress. Fortunately, they didn't ask anything anymore.
While at the restaurant waiting for their food, she told Bambi she just needed to be somewhere, and he let her go. Jada headed straight to the clinic near the restaurant where they were eating.
She went for a quick checkup, and fortunately, everything was fine. According to the OB, she doesn't have to worry about anything. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
Relieved, Jada went back to the restaurant. She finished eating her late lunch and went back home. She decided to get some rest, waiting for Lyken to call or at least send me a message, but she didn't hear anything from him. Until it was time to hit the sack, no Lyken showed up.
The next day, she woke up at 7 in the morning. Pushing herself up and leaning on the headboard, Jada recalled everything that had happened between them.
Jada recalled when Kobe and Lyken first approached them in their hang-out back at the university. Then they invited them to their small party.
Of course, she recalled the first time Lyken confessed his feelings to her. As well as the first time he cheated on her. And the reason for their break up.
They went through a lot.
In the coming weekend, they were supposed to tie the knot. But they haven't talked to each other yet after what happened the other night.
'If I don't do anything about this, we'll end up canceling the wedding,' she thought. Of course, she doesn't want that to happen, especially now that they've gone this far.
Jada stood up and grabbed a towel. She needs to go to Lyken and settle things once and for all. It's now or never.
When she stepped out of her room, Honey, Ada, and Bambi were all there, having coffee. "Where are you off to?" Honey asked.
She changed route and walked over to them, "I can't wait for him to come to his senses. I have to go to him," she informed the trio.
"Lyken?" Ada asked, and she nodded.
"We'll go with you," Bambi said, and they all hurried to prepare and leave.
When they arrived at Lyken's condo building, the guard greeted her. "Hi, Miss Jada! How are you?"
"Hi Joe, I'm good, and you?" she asked in return.
"I'm good, Miss. Are you on your way to Mr. Fontanilla?" he asked, and when she nodded, he looked at his fellow guard as if they were talking about something with their eyes. "Why? Did he go somewhere?" Jada asked, and they hesitantly shook their heads.
"Y-You can just go up," he stuttered.
Brows furrowed, Jada pulled Honey towards the elevator, and the pinks followed them. "What's wrong with him?" Honey asked, but she just shrugged at her. She doesn't have the answer to that anyway. When they reached Lyken's unit, Jada fished for the key he gave me and quickly opened the door. As soon as they stepped in, Ada and Bambi plopped on the couch while Honey went straight to the kitchen. Meanwhile, Jada went to his room and what she saw gave goosebumps over her entire body. She even tried rubbing her eyes. Unfortunately, there wasn't wrong with what she saw.
Lyken was lying on his bed, asleep. Next to him is a blonde girl, head on his arm and arm on his waist.
They're both covered with a blanket, but it's clear that they're not wearing anything. At least no tops.
Jada can feel her cheeks heating up and her stomach tying into a knot. She walked backward, not even bothering to close his door.
"What happened to you? Why are you so pale?" Honey asked as soon as she stepped out of the kitchen with a glass of water.
She tried to answer, but no voice would come out of her. The pinks looked at her in unison, and they hurried to stand up to approach Jada.
Reaching out for her arm, Bambi pulled her to sit on the single-seater that was closest to her. "You're cold! What happened?" he asked, but Jada still couldn't respond.
Honey went inside Lyken's room, "What the fuck?" she screamed.

Before Jada could turn to look at her, her phone started ringing. She pulled it out of my purse and quickly answered without looking at the caller ID.
"Hello?" she croaked.
"Jadanela Cuevas?" the caller asked.
"Yes, this is me!"
"Thank God I got the right number," the caller exclaimed. "Ja, this is Letty. We were batchmates at SMU, remember?" she asked again.
"Oh, hi, Letty! What's up?"
"I'm the owner of the restaurant where your fiancé went to yesterday. He was with Honey's husband, Kobe." Jada creased her forehead, not sure what she was calling her. "Well, I called to let you know that someone drugged him. He and the other guy they're with," she started.
"W-What do you mean?"
"Two women were sitting next to them yesterday. When they ordered their drinks, one of the women stood up. She intentionally bumped the man Lyken was with. His shirt got wet, so Lyken helped him to the restroom. But the woman stayed at their table. She even sat there. She only left when Lyken and his companion came back. After a few minutes, both men dozed off, and the women helped them out of my restaurant." "Wait, Letty, you mean..."
"Yes, that blondie drugged them," she told her. "I was already doubtful, it was obvious she was scheming, so I reviewed my CCTV. There I saw that she slipped something into their drinks."
Jada let go of the breath she had been holding since she started telling her what she was calling her for. She even uttered a prayer to thank God that she misunderstood.
Jada was thankful to know that Lyken didn't cheat on her. And, of course, she's very thankful because someone informed her.
When she ended the call, Jada stood up to go back to Lyken's room, but then she heard Honey shouting. "You bitch!"
