The tension in the car was palpable.
Millie’s fingernail accidentally grazed Winston’s neck, leaving a clear scratch Just as her clothes were about to be ripped open, the loud ringing of Winston phone pierced the silence
of the car.
He froze, with his fingers still lingering on Millie’s bra clasp. The ringtone was so sharp that it brought them back to reality.
Millie looked up, and her bloodshot eyes locked onto Winston’s. They were fil
suppressed and inscrutable emotions. Pressing her lips together, she could taste the metallic tang of blood.
She saw the caller ID on his phone screen–Jo. It was Joanna calling.
She frowned as her mind gradually became clearer. She couldn’t help but tease Winston, So are we having an affair?”
Winston paused momentarily before glancing sideways at her. He then sneered, “We’re
married.”
“That means you and Joanna are having an affair, right?” Millie stared at him while mercilessly pointing out his behavior with Joanna
He didn’t deny it. Instead, he suppressed all his desire and possessiveness and settled back in his seat. After that, Winston picked up hip phone to answer the call.
Before he could do it, Millie, emboldened by alcohol, snatched his phone and answered it without hesitation.
Winston was stunned, staring at her in disbelief. He didn’t expect her to act so boldly.
The second Millie answered the call, she heard Joanna’s voice coming from the other end of the line.
“Win, I’m not feeling well… Can you come over and accompany me?”
She narrowed her eyes and gazed at Winston. With such enticing gentleness, it was no wonder men couldn’t resist.
Millie pursed her lips. She lowered her voice and replied sarcastically, “I’m afraid he can’t. He’s with me right now.”
“You” Joanna choked up.
Before Millie could say more, Winston had already taken the phone back. She watched as he pressed the phone to his ear.
“What’s wrong?” he asked in a clear voice.
Millie scoffed. Did he snatch the phone back so quickly because he was worried she might hurt Joanna?
“Win, are you with Millie?” Joanna asked, her tone tinged with disbelief.
Winston hummed in response.
“It’s late at night. What are you doing with her?”
Millie overheard Joanna’s question. She was tempted to boast that they were kissing, doing what they had done together. Yet, she held her tongue.
With that, she pushed open the car door and got out. Millie waved at Winston before hailing a passing cab and left.
He quickly stepped out of the car to follow her but couldn’t keep up with her swift departure
On the other end of the phone, Joanna asked somberly, “Win, are you… not planning to divorce Millie?”
Winston entered the car with a frown, intending to go after Millie. Still, he reassured Joanna, Joanna, don’t overthink it.”
She didn’t want to think too much, either. However, given Winston’s current behavior, how could she possibly feel at ease?
In the past, all she ever wanted was to patiently wait for him to marry her. But how much longer would she have to wait?
Suddenly, Joanna hung up.
Winston lowered his head. In no time, her message arrived. “Win, maybe we should take some time apart.”
After reading the text, Winston’s car came to a stop.
The next morning, Millie yawned and slipped on her slippers before entering the bathroom.
When she saw her reflection in the mirror, she jumped in surprise. With dark circles under her eyes and smudged makeup, she barely recognized herself.
Millie leaned closer to the mirror, and the corner of her lips curled into a smile. She carefully tried to recall what had happened the previous night, only to realize she couldn’t remember a thing.
“Damn it! | blacked out again,” she mumbled.
-15 BONG!
Millie massaged her temples and quickly freshened up before heading downstairs.
As she reached the top of the stairs, she heard errence cursing on the couch, “She’s so irresponsible! All she does is drink every day! When she comes down, I swear I’ll teach her a lesson!”
Julia sighed and soothed him, “Oh, come on, she’s just a child.”
“She’s in her 20s and about to get a divorce. How is she still a child? It seems to me she’s spoiled rotten and immature!” Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
