“Yerwick is such a small city.” Millie sighed.

In fact, Yerwick was a big city. However, she kept running into people she didn’t want to see.

The man sneered as he slowly walked forward, finally standing beside Millie to wash his hands. Millie grabbed two tissues and dried her hands. Her fingers were truly beautiful, with a lovely

hint of pink.

Winston turned away and said in a low voice, “Millie, you’ve gone too far.”

“What do you mean, Mr. Greer?” Millie asked, tilting her head.

Winston gazed into her doe eyes. Bathed in the soft, warm yellow light, her face was exquisite and captivating. Those eyes seemed to hold an irresistible allure.

Winston’s patience was wearing thin. “I’m sure you understand what I mean.”

This charade with Simon had to end.

“I’m not smart, so I really don’t,” Millie replied, looking away as she continued to dry her hands.

Winston snorted and asked, “Millie, do you think this will get my attention?”

“I had no intention of capturing your attention, Mr. Greer. Please don’t let your imagination run wild,” Millie responded coolly.

After she finished speaking, he suddenly grabbed her wrist. With a firm grip, he forcefully pressed her against the wall,

“Let me go, Winston,” Millie warned icily.

“Millie, don’t test my patience over and over,” Winston threatened, gripping her chin firmly.

Millie looked up to meet Winston’s intense, cold gaze. She smiled. “Are you angry?”

“Why would I be angry?” Winston was puzzled.

Was he angry because Millie was too close to Simon? Or was it because she was hanging out with Simon In the fountain park last night, embarrassing him as a husband?

Millie’s question left Winston speechless. He couldn’t figure out what exactly made him angry.

“Don’t you dislike me pestering you? Well, I’ve fallen for someone else now. Didn’t you want a divorce? I agreed, Mr. Greer. What more do you want?” Millie fixed him with a questioning gaze. She couldn’t understand why he was so displeased.

“Millie,” he muttered, his face contorted with an overwhelming mix of emotions and an indescribable rage.

Millie let out a bitter laugh, brushing Winston’s hand away. Her tone dripped with sarcasm. “I did everything you asked. I set you free so you can be with someone else, but it seems you’re still not happy. Winston, you’re really hard to please.”

“Mr. Greer, is there anything else? Simon is still waiting for me. If I don’t go back, he’ll be worried.” She

believed Joanna would be anxious too.

Millie looked into his eyes. Just as she was about to remove his hand from her waist, Winston grabbed it again and pressed her against the wall. As he leaned in for a kiss, Millie instinctively turned her head to avold it.

A flash of anger was clearly visible in his eyes, as his voice trembled with intensity. “Millie, how dare you avoid my kiss!”

Winston felt increasingly unsettled as he pictured Millie holding Simon’s arm closely. He gripped her waist and demanded, “Why can Simon be close to you, but not me?”

“Winston, show some respect!” Millie warned furiously.

Winston frowned and moved closer, exuding a menacing air. “What’s wrong? Thinking about hitting me again?”

“Why not?” Millie replied.

Winston ŝneered, and a hint of paranoia flashed across his eyes. He calmly said, “Millie, go ahead and give it a try.”

Millie clenched her hands tightly by her side, her gaze locked onto Winston. Then, she raised her hand, ready to deliver a resounding slap.
