Millie walked out of the towering building, feeling the drizzle on her cheeks. She spread her hands to catch the rain. Rainy days without thunder always brought her joy, just like it was at that moment.
Everyone was walking slowly. Some even enjoyed this relaxing and pleasant slow moment. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Millie stepped out, and the rain fell on her immediately. It was cold, and she felt an indescribable feeling. Millie looked up and let the fine raindrops fall on her all over.
At the entrance was a pothole with a small puddle of water. Millie removed her high heels and childishly stepped in the water.
Ever since she was a young girl, Millie had adored water. She began learning to swim at the tender age of four or five. However, little did she anticipate that eventually, she would become the one with a deep- seated fear of water.
The sky was gloomy, and Yerwick was unusually quiet because of the rain. The media outside noticed Millie coming out and assumed she was going to leave
However, they were surprised to see her staying in the rain. They wondered if Joanna’s recent arrival had provoked her.
Millie was completely absorbed in her own world, oblivious to the media watching nearby. She squatted down and delicately scooped up the water.
Despite the heavy downpour, Millie remained there for a long time. She was undisturbed until footsteps approached from behind, and abruptly, the rain ceased falling onto her head.
Millie’s face lit up with joy. However, as soon as she caught sight of the man approaching, she was displeased. Her voice carried a tone of repulsion. “Take it away.”
“You’ll catch a cold,” he replied firmly.
“I’m healthy.” She wasn’t Joanna, who would faint easily.
“Hmm.” His voice deepened. He seemed to be coaxing her while also being perfunctory.
Millie couldn’t resist stealing a few more glances at him. His entire body was exposed to the rain, while the umbrella provided shelter for her. At that moment, he appeared incredibly affectionate and tender.
Millie couldn’t help but dwell on her recent conversation with Rachel about why he didn’t love her. As she lightly tapped on the water, she asked softly, “Don’t you have a lot to do for Joanna? Why are you even available to come here and hold an umbrella for me?”
“Ljust happened to see you,” he replied calmly.
Millie couldn’t help but look at him again. Naturally, she didn’t believe that he had seen her coincidentally.
“Mr. Greer, you’re never been a good liar since the day I met you,” Millie said nonchalantly.
Millie shook off the water from her hands and stood up, but the sudden rush caused her to feel Hightheaded. With a hand on her forehead, she swayed unsteadily. Just as she was about to fall, an arm
wrapped around her waist, steadying her.
Millie sighed when she heard him ask, “Didn’t you say you were in good health?”

Millie was left speechless, realizing that he was mocking her. She retorted, “I stood up too fast.”
Millie fixed her dress and hair, which were wet. Her baby hair looked adorable in the dim light. As she glanced up, she caught Winston’s gaze fixed on her.
Millie looked away when Winston suddenly said, “Joanna and I were just…”
*Joanna was right. We’ve divorced, and it’s time to introduce her as your partner.” Millie covered her head with one hand and prepared to go to the entrance.
Winston couldn’t help but frown as he observed her expression. She didn’t seem to be lying. It was as if she was speaking sincerely.
Millie glanced at him and commented, “A woman’s youth is precious.”
She dedicated her youth to spending time with Winston.
“Millie, don’t you-” Before he could finish, he was interrupted.
