Chapter 306
Millie’s eyebrows shot up in amusement. “I’m free.”
Surprised at her quick agreement, Simon said, “Cool. I pick you up when you’re done with work.” “Okay,” she replied before hanging up.

It was a bright, sunny day. Upon arriving at the cardiac surgery department, she ran into Hazel. Hazel informed her, “Dr. Caldwell, Dr. Quinn wants you at the meeting room when you’re here.”
“Alrighty.” Millie nodded and put on her doctor’s coat before heading to the meeting room.
She casually tied her hair up with a hair claw. Putting her hands in her pockets, she waltzed down the corridor, attracting everyone’s attention. There was something different about her that day.
“I heard Dr. Caldwell isn’t a loser. Have you heard about that?”
“Of course she isn’t. Don’t you know what she’s capable of after all the time she spent in cardiac surgery?”
“Yeah. Didn’t she save a patient who coded last time?”
“Gosh, she can’t be an actual loser since she comes from a medical family. Alright now. Let’s drop the discussion about Dr. Caldwell and get the meeting started. There is some earth–shattering news in the hospital lately.”
When Millie entered the meeting room, all her colleagues from cardiac surgery were there. She realized
she was the last one to arrive.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know there was a meeting today.”
Lainey pointed to Millie’s chair and gestured at her to take a seat. Right after that, she kicked off the meeting. “I’m sure all of you are aware of the huge news recently. I called a meeting to go over two agenda items. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
“Firstly, I would like to highlight the hospital’s firm stance against the unethical behavior of appropriating the qualifications of others. As such, we will tighten our hiring practices.
“We hope that you have trust in us. Please be assured that we make all our hiring decisions for a good reason. Some doctors might seem mediocre at first glance, but they are hidden gems.”
At that point, Lainey stole a glance at Millie. Sebastian had specifically requested she make that remark in front of all hospital employees.
Millie was fiddling with her fingers as Lainey made the announcements.
Lainey continued, “Secondly, the hospital pays close attention to the mental health of its staff. For that, each one of you is entitled to free mental health consultations. You will have three thousand dollars worth of claimable expenses.
Everyone applauded after Lainey made the second announcement. Nothing meant more to them than free mental health services and claimable medical expenses.
“The hospital expresses its condolences regarding Dr. Marshall’s regrettable death, and we hope this will not happen across any hospitals.

“Also, Jeanna Lowell is now fired for falsifying credentials. She has been blacklisted by the medical community.”
Millie finally raised her head when she heard the mention of Joanna. Blacklisting Joanna would mean the end of her medical career.
Winston certainly didn’t go easy on his first love.
After hearing the news, Wanda–Joanna’s lackey–immediately looked deflated.
Millie asked, “Does Joanna know about it?”
Joanna lay in the hospital bed, her face pale after learning her fate. Harriet sighed. “Joanna, just focus on getting better. Everything else can wait. Got it?”
Joanna said nothing.
“How’s things between you and Winston? He’s divorced Millie, no? Did he say when he would marry you?” Harried asked again.
Tears streamed down Joanna’s face. “No, he didn’t.”
“From the looks of it, he’s not going to marry you. I’ll introduce you to another man tomorrow. Go on a blind date and end things with Winston,” Harriet said, fuming. “You’re a Lowell! When have you ever been humiliated in this manner?”
