Chapter 329

In the dead of night, Millie found herself tied to a chair in an unfamiliar, rundown abandoned building. As she slowly opened her eyes, she saw an endless field of debris beneath her, with her chair dangling precariously in midair.

Millie wanted to scream, but her mouth was gagged. Looking around, she noticed that the building was just a framework. There was nothing else intact.

The full moon hung in the sky, and the wind howled, causing Millie’s heart to sink to her stomach.

“Boss, I think the woman is awake,” someone said.

“I’ll take a look.”

Millie heard something hit the ground, followed by footsteps approaching from behind. She opened her eyes wide and saw a stout middle–aged man appear beside her.

“My, my, she’s really awake.” The man, Michael Brown, chuckled. He lifted Millie’s chin with a finger and clicked his tongue. “What a gorgeous woman! Wealthy folks are really built differently, huh?”

The lackey beside Michael nodded in agreement. “Exactly. Her skin is so smooth and delicate! Just looking at her makes me feel better.”

Millie frowned, staring at Michael in displeasure. Who were they? Why did they kidnap her? Who had she offended this time?

“Oh, don’t look at me like that with those pretty eyes.” Michael gazed at Millie with a deeply hurt expression.

Millie was left speechless at the sight. Shouldn’t she have been the one feeling aggrieved? After all, she was tied up and couldn’t speak.

What was worse, below her was an abyss! With her legs dangling in mid–air, she was terrified.

Millie couldn’t help but wonder if the rope behind was secured and if it would hold. Michael held her head tightly and ripped the tape off her mouth, causing her to gasp in pain.

She glared at Michael and yelled, “Who the hell are you? How dare you kidnap me? Do you even know

who I am?”

“Look at you trying to be all fierce!” Michael said with a pout while giving Millie a disdainful look. It was as if he were saying that her anger was meaningless.

Millie was momentarily stunned. Then, she composed herself before asking in a low voice, “Who sent you?

Michael crossed his arms. “Take a guess.”

“1-“Millie was so exasperated she wanted to kick him. How could he be so irritating? Why was he asking. her to guess who was the mastermind?

Ms. Caldwell, you’ve offended someone. Michael sighed.

He then picked up his phone and added, “Let’s see if anyone comes for you by 10:00 am tomorrow. If no

Michael chuckled, then pushed the chair slightly. In an instant, Millie screamed in horror.

“Yes, that’s what will happen,” he commented.

Hanging from the chair, Millie looked down at the rubble, a shiver running down her spine. So, according to what Michael said, they would push her down if no one came for her by 10:00 am tomorrow, right?

“Are you playing games with me?” Millie questioned.

Michael laughed and replied, “You’re quite smart!”

“Let me guess, your employer probably just wants to scare me, right?” Millie glared at him.

Michael winked at her. “You’re truly a brilliant woman!”

She chuckled. Instead of responding, Michael simply turned and walked away.

“Damn it! Turn me around!” Millie shouted.

“Just hang there.” Michael clapped with a look of indifference.

This kidnapper was something else. He was surprisingly laid–back about the whole situation.

“You should at least call my friends and tell them I’ve been kidnapped!” Millie yelled.

Michael sat down, crossed his legs, and answered, “What’s the point of that?”

The whole point was to make Millie disappear suddenly and see if anyone noticed.

“This is a disaster,” Millie thought. She only contacted Marvin, Rachel, and her other friends when

absolutely necessary. Otherwise, she kept to herself.

Even if she disappeared for wouldn’t even notice if she didn’t come home for a night, let alone think she’d been kidnapped.
