Chapter 351

Winston approached Millie, his eyes filled with a complex expression as he watched her eating an apple. Millie lifted her gaze and locked eyes with his intense stare.

Winston moved closer, gently resting one hand on the back of the sofa. “I saw it.”

Millie hesitated for a moment before turning her gaze toward Winston. “What did you see?”

His eyes gleamed with a hint of danger as he chuckled. Millie’s gaze lingered on his eyes, then slowly drifted down to the tip of his nose and lips.

He replied in a hoarse voice, “Abandoned building, Harriet, and you.”

Millie looked up at him. With a relaxed smile, she teasingly asked, “Oh? So what? Go call the police.”

Winston narrowed his eyes, his gaze fixed on Millie’s composed expression. He smirked, “Ms. Caldwell, you never cease to surprise me.”

“I have many aspects you don’t know about. I’ve been feeling suffocated in our marriage.” Millie smiled and opened up to him.

After that, she asked again, “Why don’t you inform Joanna that her mother has been kidnapped? Then, you can play the hero and rescue her.”

She paused, deep in thought. Then, she said, “You’re so busy, Mr. Greer. After rescuing me, you still need to save the other.”

Winston sneered. “Millie, I’m not part of the rescue team.”

“So why are you following me?” she asked him calmly.

“I accidentally saw it,” he replied unruffled.

She smiled with a hint of amusement. “Why did you leave the hospital instead of resting? Did you go out to comfort your lover because she was feeling sad?”

“Tch. Ms. Caldwell, are you jealous?” Winston watched Millie intently, intrigued by her skillful pretense and composure. Despite his keen ability to decipher others, he found himself unable to see through her.

Millie pushed him away and asked, “Feeling jealous because of you, Mr. Greer? Are you daydreaming?”

Winston’s complexion turned grim.

She gave him a piercing look, quickly assessing his appearance before showing her disdain. “You?”

He was left speechless by her eloquence.

“I need to rest. Please leave my room,” Millie went to the bed. However, Winston showed no intention of Neaving.

“Do you not have your own ward?” she asked.

Winston just wanted to look at her a little bit longer, but Millie was annoyed. “If you’re not leaving, then I will.” This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

“I’ll go,” he instantly replied. How could he let her leave her own ward?

Millie looked at him, thinking he was strange.

He walked to the door, cast another glance at her, and said, “Be careful.”

“I know. Please inform Joanna that I won’t compete with her for you, so please stop targeting me.” Ultimately, it was Winston who caused all these dangers to her.

Winston didn’t speak and held his arm.

Millie noticed blood coming through the bandage, indicating a deep wound. The bastard who stabbed him seemed quite fearless. Was he unaware that Winston was the one he injured?

The door closed, bringing an abrupt quietness to the room. Millie grabbed her phone and noticed a message from Marvin.

“It’s done You can go straight there.”

Millie left the hospital early in the morning.

When Julia came to bring Millie breakfast, she couldn’t find her. However, Millie had left her a note. “Help me with the discharge. I’m fully recovered and full of energy. I’ve gone out for some fun.”

Julia was furious when she read the note. She wondered where Millie went so early in the morning.

Millie was sitting in a conference room of the criminal police department. She tapped the table and crossed her legs, looking nothing like a young lady from a prominent family.
