Chapter 314.1 Filming(1) Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Troy had to go to the office and dropped Imogen at the entrance of the police station on the way. Imogen happened to have her own car, so she drove it back.
While on the road, Imogen received a phone call from an unknown number.
She put on her Bluetooth headset and answered the call, saying, “Hello?”
A young and enthusiastic voice came from the other end, “Hello, is this Ms. Forbes?”
“Yes. Who is this?”
“I am James, Douglass‘ assistant. Douglass has something to discuss with you. Are you free to come
over now?”
Imogen was surprised and asked, “What does Douglass want from me?”
James replied. “It’s not easy to explain over the phone, but it seems to be related to your role. If you have time, would you mind coming to the set?”
Imogen thought for a moment and replied, “Alright, I’ll come over right now.”
After all, she had filmed a few scenes on the set.
Once the production team had investigated and learned the true reason for Sarah’s arrest by the police, and realized that there was no way to salvage the situation, they decided to replace Sarah.
They were currently looking for a new character to fill the role.
It was possible that the scenes Imogen had filmed would no longer be needed.
Imogen made a U–turn at the intersection ahead and headed for the set.
On the stage, the workers were on one side, and the performers were filming in front of the cameras. Douglass sat attentively behind the screen, watching the scene closely.
One of the actors couldn’t help but burst into laughter, and they had to redo the scene two more
times.
Imogen sat beside the crew and began to watch.
During the process, some actors were struggling with their details and emotional expressions, so Douglass came over to demonstrate personally.
The actors took a break offstage only after filming the entire scene. Some of them got ready for the next scene using their scripts, while others changed their outfits.
The crew was cleaning the set and props.
Douglass sat in front of the monitor, reviewing the footage that had just been shot.
Imogen silently walked up behind Douglass and looked at the monitor.
Douglass heard the movement and turned to look at Imogen. “You’re here?”
Imogen smiled and said, “Douglass, did you call for me?”
“Imogen, what do you think of this scene? I can’t help but feel that something is off.” Douglass pointed at the monitor.
“Douglass, I’m not familiar with this…”
“Don’t be shy. You’ve made several ads and promo videos, correct? I heard you’re even learning
photography now.”
While the subjects of the shoots may be different, they all involve the language of the camera, and

there are similarities in the creative process.
Douglass had taken the time to research Imogen’s work history, and after seeing the projects Imogen had been actively involved in, he developed a newfound appreciation for her.
“I’m just an amateur,” Imogen replied modestly.
“Oh, don’t say that. I’ve seen your work, and it’s quite good. Otherwise, why would I ask for your opinion?”
Imogen knew Douglass wanted her opinion. “I’ll speak up, Douglass, but please don’t laugh if I’m wrong.”
So Douglass had approached her for this reason?
Did Douglass not find the opinions of the other assistant directors satisfactory?
“No, no, go ahead and speak your mind.”
Imogen’s gaze was fixed on the monitor as she dragged the footage back a bit and used the mouse. to circle a character in the scene. “Here, the posture of this priest is not quite right. As he stops. running, his upper body should lean forward to convey a sense of fatigue. He’s stopping abruptly, so the posture should be that his legs have already stepped forward, and he’s holding back in time, with the upper body leaning backward to express the inertia correctly. And here, from what I know, this elder character is strong–willed and likes to be in control of everything. The shot of him sitting down and looking down weakens his character traits. A shot from a lower angle, looking up at him, might work better here…”
Imogen pointed out several aspects she felt were inappropriate and concluded. “Douglass, I’ve given my humble opinion.”
Douglass agreed with Imogen’s ideas after considering them for a moment. “You’re right, the details matter.”
After saying that, he picked up the megaphone and shouted loudly outside, “Hold the set, let’s redo the scene we just shot!”
The crew members were a bit surprised but quickly rearranged the props, and the assistants went to inform the actors.
“Wait for me.” Douglass put down the megaphone and walked outside, gathering the actors and the cinematographer to discuss the scene.
After the discussion, they started shooting again.
After going through it once more, the actors were quite skilled, and they got it right in one take. Douglass watched the scene on the monitor and nodded with satisfaction. “This feels better now.”
Imogen smiled and said, “Douglass, do you have anything else?”
If there was nothing else, she would take her leave.
Douglass looked up and smiled, saying, “Yes, let’s go sit over there and talk.”
“Sure,” Imogen replied, but she couldn’t help but feel a bit surprised by this.
What else could happen?
