Caroline suddenly realized the car had come to a stop. They had arrived at Ellison Group! Never in her life had she felt so relieved.

Whoever interrupted them couldn't have come at a better time.

"Someone... Someone's here," Caroline stammered, swallowing hard. "Let's pause for now." She tried to slide off David's lap, but his iron grip on her waist didn't loosen even a fraction. He's not letting go?

Caroline turned her head, catching a glimpse of a hemline. Before she could make out the person's face, David seized her chin and turned her back toward him.
