Survival Instinct
Ash Laughed victoriously as she went to pack her bags, soon, Alexander would be hers.
She was determined this time to get Alex, she wouldn’t back down, she had once gave way to Hilary, but fortunately, Hilary and Alexander broke up, that’s to say, she was the destined one.
She was meant for Alexander.
Ash hummed as she packed her bags for tomorrow’s journey to Europe, she would once again be Alexander’s partner in the office.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

Eastern land, Europe.
Alexander sighed as he took a shower and woke up a casual wear, the company just signed a contract with the government for the production of AI technology.
The next few days would be exhausting, So he took the time to rest when he still had the chance.
He walked out of his bedroom and made his way to the dining, as Amelia had said, the hangover was slowly wading off , and he was slightly comfortable.
Amelia raised her brows at Alexander, as their gazes locked, Amelia quickly withdrew her eyes and Alexander felt a gush of guilt blow on his face.
He cleared his throat and made his way to the dining room, Amelia buried her head in her food as she hurriedly ate
“Eat slowly else you might choke on the food,” Alexander said with a frown and she slowed down a bit.
He sighed, and self-conflicted for a while before gritting out a-“I’m sorry about earlier!”
“It’s nothing, I mean….. forget about it,” Amelia said with a bland expression, not wanting to deal with his problem
“Come with me later,” Alex said and Amelia didn’t refute him and just hummed in agreement.
After the meal, Alexander waited for Amelia to go get dressed and she came out wearing a high waist trousers and a top.
“Where are we heading to?” Amelia asked as they walked side by side with each other, heading out of the house.
Alexander didn’t answer her and they made their way to the garage, Amelia didn’t persist and just complied with him.
Soon, their car drove out of the garage and left Eastern land for the subway.
Amelia sat tightly as she looked ahead
“We’re going to the warehouse” Alexander said after a while as he focused on his driving, his gaze on the road.
Amelia was a bit confused about what he meant and she looked up to his face for answers.
A shallow smile crept to his face “My warehouse where I store weapons, are you uncomfortable??”
Amelia immediately understood, he was taking her to his second “office” so he was taking her there.
“Do you trust me to take me there??” Amelia asked as she gazed at him intently, a warm feeling exploded in her heart.
But she immediately shook her head subconsciously to clear off the thought.
Alexander couldn’t bring himself to tell her his real thoughts and he said instead “I didn’t say I trust you, I’m just taking you there to see something new, and besides my father is secretly monitoring us so we have to give him the impression that we are a loving couple” he explained but felt his throat tightened
Oh-so that was the reason.
For some reasons, Amelia’s chest felt heavy, she was thinking too much, it was for his father anyway.
C’mon Amelia come out of it!
She chided herself but that didn’t brighten her mood as her mood soured.
Alexander noticed that she was suddenly quiet and didn’t think much of it.
The whole ride was silent as they sat there, Amelia was anxious to get out of the car.
Her mood was terrible but what was she expecting?
She snorted at herself, while self-mocking her naivety and stupidity.
Soon, the car stopped in front of a hard iron gate, the fence was unusually high.
She couldn’t even see any building as the fence was too high to see what was inside.
Alexander got out of the car and one of his subordinates walked toward him and bowed respectfully
“Sir X” the man was respectful towards Alexander “Miss” he gestured towards Amelia who was completely lost in her thoughts.
The subordinate drove Alexander’s car to the garage area.
“Let’s go in!” Alexander said as he put on that cold expression of his as emitted a deadly aura, that aura made him seem so intimidating and above the whole world.
Amelia had a neutral expression but her eyes were slightly cold, she wasn’t a young Miss who was concerned about her social image or simple etiquette, she loved to live her life her way.
She slightly matched Alexander’s temperament as they both had an expression that made people kowtow to them and feel suffocated.
Alexander took his time to show Amelia around before he went to the secret meeting room to address his workers, Amelia was disinclined to go in so she just walked towards the high storage where guns were kept, some were hung on the wall
She looked at them intently with keen interest, she had some experience and knows about guns since she once lived in a military camp, she was thought properly so when she saw any gun, she knew which was the real deal.
These guns were all top notch weapons, some of the guns were made that very year but surprisingly, Alexander had tons of it in his warehouse.
Power was something to be reckoned on, it could make the devil bow.
She smirked when her eyes caught a sharp and small dagger on the black and iron table close by, she stretched her hand to take and inspect it when a voice came from her back, she was a bit startled and her first instinct was to retaliate, she immediately turns and strike her palm to the person but it was caught in mid-air by a strong hand.
She had used enough power on that palm strike so when it was abruptly caught, her hands felt as if it was electrocuted.
Her eyes widened when she saw the cold eyes staring straight at her and she immediately flushed red in embarrassment
“Alex-umm I didn’t hear you come in, sorry,” Amelia said
“You have a strong survival instinct, not bad, you seem to be always on guard,” Alexander said and walked to her side
He noticed her flushed face and felt that something was off “Are you okay??”
“Hmm-yeah-yeah, I’m good,” she said and slowly massaged her right arm that she had used to hit towards Alexander earlier, that action didn’t go unnoticed by him as he furrowed his brows and took her right hand to check.
