Spoiled By The Mighty After Dumping The Fuckboy

Chapter 51 Their Home

“How do you know where my apartment is? Did Patrick tell you?”

Amanda’s message popped up on the screen.

Joleen held her phone and replied, “I know Patrick’s overseas friend too. I guessed.”

“I see. Do you want to have dinner together tonight?”

“No, I have a video conference tonight. Next time.”

“All right then.”

After Amanda replied to Joleen’s message, she called the real estate agent and went out together. “Please help me find a suitable office building later. It doesn’t have to be too big, but it has to be in a better environment.”

“Okay, no problem.”

On the other side, after putting down her phone, Joleen held onto the sink and stood up.

She looked at her haggard self in the mirror and washed her face with cold water. As she touched her wet face, a trace of self-mockery emerged in her gentle and firm eyes.

She was indeed not as beautiful as Amanda. No matter how exquisite her makeup and expensive clothes were, she was not as attractive as Amanda’s smiling face without makeup.

What she had guarded for so many years could barely reach, but Amanda could have it easy. Because of her beauty, her life could be so smooth.

After taking a deep breath, she dialed a number.

“Hello? Zac.”

“Joleen, what can I do for you?”

“I plan to move to another place. It’s closer to the city center. Help me find the real estate agent.”

The veil of night descended.

On the fourth floor of the bustling mall in the downtown area, there was a small and exquisite American restaurant with a fountain square outside the French windows.

“One roast pork knuckle, one snack combo…”

“What would you like to drink with me, Patrick?” Amanda asked Patrick.

“Just like you.”

“Two glasses of west pomelo juice.”

Amanda handed the menu to the waitress. “Thank you.”

Glancing out the window, Patrick said, “The environment here is great, but the location isn’t. I never knew that there’s such a restaurant here.”

“When I was still in Sean Group, I heard from a few interns that it was a place where young people liked to have casual entertainment dinner, so I didn’t come here. Now that I’m divorced, I think I’m much younger.”

“You’re not old, but you got married too early.”

“Let’s not talk about this anymore. Don’t you think this place looks very familiar?”

Patrick was stunned before he looked around and replied, “The layout is the same as ‘Friends.'”

“You’ve finally found out.” Amanda rested her chin and looked at the glass of wine on the bar counter in the distance. Her eyes were sparkling. “Only after marriage did I realize that sometimes, friends are more important than lovers. In other words, friendship lasts forever.”

“That’s because you didn’t meet the right person. If you did, you wouldn’t be like this.”

“The right person?” Amanda shrugged her shoulders and leaned against the back of the chair. “There’s no right person.”

“When you meet the right person, he will understand, tolerate, and help you. He will appear in time when you need them the most and accompany you silently when you are in the worst mood.”

Amanda was taken aback by Patrick’s words.

For some reason, a face surfaced in her mind.

He could always appear the first time when she needed him the most. When her mother was hospitalized, he would accompany her to drink at the convenience store…

“Amanda.”

Patrick’s voice jerked Amanda out of her reverie.

She quickly pulled up her chair and coughed to cover up her distraction, “I even called for Joleen.”

“You’re called Joleen?”

“But she said she’d have to work overtime tonight, so she couldn’t come today. What a pity; I’m sure Joleen likes this kind of snack. She’s always been quite artistic.”

Patrick’s eyes flickered. “Is that so? I don’t know.”

“No way, the three of us have known each other for so many years, don’t you know Joleen’s personality? Furthermore, after graduation, didn’t she still work with you for a while?”

“Amanda, you misunderstood. It’s Joleen’s company working with the lawyer’s office. I don’t have much contact with her in private. We’re both busy.”

“Then you should contact each other more. You two are single, so maybe you can develop if you contact more.”

“Amanda.”

Patrick suddenly turned severe.

“I was just joking.”

“This kind of thing can’t be used as a joke.”

Amanda was taken aback. “I’m sorry, Patrick.”

Patrick seemed to have realized his attitude was too severe, so he softened his tone. “What I mean is, if this kind of thing were to spread, it wouldn’t be good for Joleen. Furthermore, the lawyer in our company has a partnership with Joleen’s, so we have to avoid arousing suspicion.”

“I understand now.”

Amanda nodded. “It’s my fault for being inconsiderate.”

“It doesn’t matter. Let’s eat.”

“It’s still early after the meal. I can accompany you for a stroll and send you home.” Patrick smiled.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

“Aye.”

Amanda ate her food absent-mindedly, her mind preoccupied with Joleen and Patrick.

She admitted that she was selfish, so she tried to describe Patrick’s feelings towards Joleen with a half-joking and half-serious attitude. However, looking at Patrick’s reaction, it was clear that he was trying to distance himself from Joleen.

She didn’t know what feelings Joleen had for Patrick right now. It wouldn’t be easy for her to fall in love with Patrick.

Amanda sighed silently.

After dinner, Patrick proposed a stroll around the city.

“No, my things are still in the hotel. I’ll move in tomorrow and see if there’s anything I need. I’ll buy it later.”

“Then I’ll send you back to the hotel.”

“The hotel isn’t far from here. It’s right over there. Patrick, I’ll just walk back. Go home.”

Patrick glanced at the hotel building in the distance and noticed with his sharp eyes that the Byran Group logo was on the other side of the building.

“Amanda, are you familiar with the president of the Byran Group?”

Amanda was stunned. “Why are you suddenly asking me this?”

“I heard some rumors….”

“You saw the scandal as well? I thought you didn’t care it.” Amanda explained in a hurry. “The Byran Group is one of the Party A of the Sean Group. He’s the biggest investor in our new project.”

“Then do you have any personal contacts? He helped you with the lawsuit.”

“He did help me a little, but he is actually excellent.”

After thinking about it carefully, she realized that Iverson’s appearance was a ray of light at the lowest point of her life. He could always give her a hand in time and help her cheer up.

“Amanda, you can’t judge a book by its cover. You’d better be careful. Don’t trust others too easily.”

“Don’t worry, Patrick. I’ve fallen once. There won’t be a second time.”

Amanda glanced at the time and said, “Then I’m leaving now. See you when Joleen has the time.”

Patrick nodded absent-mindedly and forced a smile. “Mn.”

His smile was drowned out by the night as he watched Amanda’s retreating figure. His gaze gradually darkened.
