Chapter 2607
Chapter 2607
"Kingston, we actually barely knew each other, but I...I truly have spilled my guts too much to you yesterday. I am sorry, Kingston.
I've embarrassed myself. Also, I am actually fine. I just...owe a little money. I am able to clear it. Just pretend that everything I've
said yesterday is nonsense. Don't put it on your mind. After we've both recovered, you should...hurry up and look for your cousin.
Don't have your business delayed."
Kingston nodded. "I got it. I will. Hmm..."
After he thought about it, he said, "I'm very honored that you treat me as your friend. I'm even more honored that you spilled your
guts to me. I feel that I can carry out another profession in the future."
"What profession?" Eevonne asked in confusion.
"Agony aunt," Kingston said very seriously.
Eevonne laughed extremely happily.
"Hurry up and eat or it won't be as tasty anymore."
"Mm-hmm." The girl lowered her head and wolfed her food down.
Both of them were hospitalized for a week. It was after they had completely recovered that they were discharged from the
hospital. During that period, Eevonne's relatives called her so many times that her phone almost exploded, she followed
Kingston's advice and did not pick up anybody's calls except for the calls made by her parents and her brother. However, her
mother did not even call her once.
Only her father called her. "Eevonee, tell me, where are you now? You...were you severely beaten up by them? I'll go fight them
to death! I don't want my life anymore. I'll go look for them now!"
"Dad," Eevonne's tone was calm but she clearly had a catch in her throat. "Dad, you're already so old. If you're able to not fall
sick and take care of yourself, you would already be lessening my burden for me. The people who beat me up are my mother's
relatives. If you were to fight them, she would be angry again.
Therefore, Dad, don't bother about this matter. 1 can handle it myself."
The old man cried inconsolably at the other end of the phone. "I-I have failed you. I will make more money in the future, and I’ll
help you pay off your debt, my child. After it's all been paid off, find yourself an honest and simple man to start a family and have
a child. Life will slowly just get on. Don't dream of anything unrealistic, it's fine as long as you can get by."
Tears instantly streamed down Eevonne's face. "Dad, I understand it now. You don't have to earn money for me. I can do that
myself. It's much easier to find a job now than it was a few years ago. I can work a job during the day, and I can even be a
delivery person at night. I think it shouldn't be a problem for me to make more than ten thousand dollars a month. I will be able to
pay off the money I owe in two years. Dad, just take care of yourself from now on.
Don't be lazy anymore. Save some money to build a house for my brother. Uncle and his family have taken away our house. We
have to have a place to stay."
The old man on the other end of the call said with guilt, "I know. Tell me where you're at right now. I have to know if you're safe or
not."
Eevonne smiled. "Don't worry, Dad. I am very safe. I won't let myself be in any kind of danger. If worse comes to worst, I can
even call the police. Don't worry about me. It's enough if you just take care of yourself, alright?"
"Alright," said her father on the other end of the call with a catch in his throat. "Has your mother called?"
Eevonne smiled miserably. "There will forever only be her siblings and their children in my mother's eyes and heart. How could
she possibly call me?"
Her father was speechless.
"Don't be sad, Dad. 1'11 be hanging up if there's nothing else. I have something up over here." Eevonne saw that the doctor was
making rounds, so she hung up the call. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Ever since that time that her father called to ask about her situation, he called her once every day to check up on her. He would
also ask her every day if her mother had called me. However, until the day that Eevonne was discharged, which meant that a
whole week had passed, Eevonne's mother never called.
After they went through the hospital discharge process, Kingston could not help but say, "I've truly never seen a mother as
heartless as yours. What do you plan to do next? Are you going to get out of there and find a job or go home to take a look at
your mother?"
As soon as Kingston finished his sentence, Eevonne's phone rang. She picked it up to take a look, and it was actually her mother
who was calling her.
