Chapter 207
Chapter 207
Andre asked, "Where's Mia?"
Leo pointed to a room, "Jade had a little tumble into the water. Your wife is over there taking care of
her."
Andre nodded, turned around and headed towards the room his wife was in. He gently knocked on the
door, "Mia, I'm here."
Wait, what? What did he say? Whose husband was this?
Soon enough, the door was opened.
Mia peeked her head out, "Hey babe!"
Andre gave her a quick once-over, first checking if Mia was okay, then peering into the room. "Where's
Molly?"
Mia stepped out and shut the door behind her. "Babe, Jade's taking a shower right now. You can't go
in."
Andre got it.
"Did you see Leo? When he was diving into the water to rescue Jade, he was also competing in a
drinking game. He had more than ten bottles."
Andre had smelled the alcohol on his nephew earlier; he knew the kid had drunk quite a bit.
Mia looked at the surprised crowd of classmates. She took her husband's hand and led him into the
crowd to introduce him, "I'm sure you all want to know who I married. Ever heard of Andre?"
Heard of him? That was a name they all knew very well. Mia's spouse was none other than Andre, a
big shot. No wonder Leo had told them that Mia already had a man, and it was someone no one dared
to mess with. Who would dare mess with such a big shot in the business world?
Everyone's gaze shifted from Mia to Andre. For a moment, they all felt like they had been hit on the
head with a sledgehammer.
Everyone was too shocked to react.
Mia glanced at Pete, and quickly explained to her husband, "Babe, see that guy in the bathrobe over
there? Let me introduce you. His name is Pete."
Andre looked at Pete, his eyes full of pressure. So, he was the one who was in the fight.
"Pete is quite the character. He egged Guz and Leo on to drink, and he also conspired with Carl to
push Jade into the pool."
Andre kept quiet, but Pete was too nervous to say anything, "Mr. Cedillo, it wasn't me. Mia got it
wrong."
Mia laughed, "How did I get it wrong? Where's Carl? Let him come out and back you up. You did
something big, don't be shy. Thanks to you, Leo and Jade got to soak in the cold water and prevent
cardiovascular diseases. We'll be sure to thank you properly."
Andre looked at the boy standing in front of him, "Who's Pete? And who's Carl?"
Andre wasn't one for small talk, and he was even less interested in these twenty-something
youngsters. The only one who could get his attention was the woman in his arms, his wife.
Compared to his nephew, the remaining male classmates seemed insignificant to him, as if there was a
world of difference between them. But he wouldn't ask these questions for no reason, if he asked, it
meant he was going to act.
The drinking game with Leo could be put aside for now, but this guy pushed Molly into the water on
purpose. Andre would remember this grudge.
Mia recounted everything without holding back. She revealed all of Pete and Carl's business, even the
location of their company's headquarters; the only thing she didn't tell her husband was where they
lived.
Andre nodded. He understood.
Not long after, Chad arrived. He stood at the door knocking, holding a change of clothes in his hand,
"Jade, open the door."
Jade, tightly wrapped in a bathrobe, felt almost suffocated from her recent shower, her cheeks were
flushed.
Seeing the anxious Chad, she felt like she’d seen her savior and immediately threw herself into his
arms crying, "Chad, Carl did it on purpose, I'm all soaked, I almost drowned, you have to teach him a
lesson."
Chad comforted his scared little sister, trying to push her away, but Jade clung to Chad tightly, refusing
to let go.
Andre watched from the side, feeling a little uncomfortable. Seeing his sister standing at the door in a
bathrobe, hugging a man tightly, he felt uneasy.
Andre walked over, and without saying a word, he pulled Jade's hands apart.
Jade, who had her face buried in Chad's chest and couldn't see the person behind her, only knew that
someone was forcibly making her let go. "Who the hell dares to make me let go..."
Suddenly, she saw the frowning Andre standing behind Chad, she immediately stopped, and the swear NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
words she was about to say got stuck in her throat.
"Go on!" Andre scolded Jade.
Like an ostrich, Jade hid in Chad's arms, not daring to speak.
"Is this how you talk to people? Who taught you to behave like this?" Andre didn't want to waste his
breath on these classmates, nor was he in the mood to lose his temper, but hearing his sister's rude
tone, he couldn't help but give her a lecture. He was starting to adjust to the role of big brother.
Jade was scolded into silence.
Mia quickly stepped forward, pulling her angry husband away. "Why are you getting so worked up? All
you know is to yell. You've scared Jade into crying, she won't talk to you anymore, deal with that."
"She's a girl, standing at the door in a bathrobe, hugging a man, and she's rude to me, can't I say
something?"
"That man is her brother, what's wrong with a hug? Or do you want her to hug you?"
Mia's words left Andre speechless.
Chad stroked Jade's hair, bent down and lightly kissed her on the top of her head. "Let's go, go change
your clothes, don't catch a cold."
"Okay."Jade obediently held onto Chad, ready to go back into the hotel room.
Suddenly, Andre stopped them again. He grabbed Chad by the shoulder and yanked him back. "What
are you going in there for?"
Jade gathered her courage to answer Andre, "My brother is accompanying me to change."
Andre: "A twenty-year-old girl needs her brother to accompany her change clothes?"
He grabbed the bag from Chad's hand and tossed it to Jade who was standing at the door. Turning
around, he gently pushed Mia's back, "Babe, you go help her."
Mia, who was pushed into the bedroom, was speechless.
Unable to control herself, Jade blurted out to Mia, "Mia, is there something wrong with your husband?
Did he forget to take his meds today? Not only does he control you, but he also wants to control me?
Does he have some kind of mental issue?"
Mia, standing nearby, couldn't stand it any longer. She began defending her husband. "Would you give
it a rest? My husband isn't some layabout, why would he butt into your business while ignoring
everybody else's? Like this whole falling-into-water fiasco, just you wait, my husband won't let Pete and
Carl off easily."
He seemed all chill and relaxed just now, but the more he appeared nonchalant, the more he actually
cared about something. Successful people didn’t just spill their guts in front of others.
"Mia, I've got a question for you. Why does your husband always treat me this way, making people
misunderstand his intentions. Why aren't you ticked off?" Jade tried to fish for answers in Mia's gaze.
Mia started to unfold Jade's clothes one by one, laying them out on the bed. She hesitated for a
moment before saying, "My husband... He lost his sister once."
