Chapter 314
Chapter 314
Cooper would often call Mia up, reminding her again and again to take care of herself, to bundle up, to
get regular health checks, and to exercise more.
Mia was getting a bit fed up with it all, so she tried to distract him, "Cooper, I have a ton of homework to
do, can you help me with it?"
Before she could finish, the call was cut off. Mia put down her phone and went to sleep.
On Friday, Chad showed up at the classroom door. As soon as class ended, Molly rushed over to hug
Chad, "You're here."
Chad reached out, pulling Molly into his arms, his face full of affection.
Mia said to Leo, "Sometimes I'm really jealous of Molly. I don't have a brother, but she has two amazing
ones."
Leo replied, "Sometimes I'm really jealous of you; even Andre doesn't dare to raise his voice at you."
"You're the least enviable one." Mia said.
When all the classmates left the classroom and the doorway was no longer crowded, Mia and Leo got
up from their seats.
Molly returned to the classroom and picked up her books. "Leo, take my books home for me, and bring
them back for me on Monday."
"Can't you take them home yourself?" Leo asked.
"It's too much of a hassle, just leave them in your car." Molly insisted.
In the past, when Molly went to school, she would just throw her books haphazardly into the back seat
of Chad's car. Once, one of Chad's subordinates sat in his car and asked, "Officer Chad, are you still
studying for college?"
"Those are my sister's books. She left them in my car again." Chad said.
Chad put all of Molly's books in the trunk, and she just had to find whatever she needed herself.
Later, when Molly returned to the Cedillo family, all her books were put in Leo's car, and Mia's as well.
The three of them would often have to rummage through the trunk full of books for the materials they
needed for the next class.
Soon, Andre also arrived. He got out of the car and saw Chad, "Hello, are you here to pick up Molly?"
"Yeah, Coleen and Mr. Kendrick miss her a lot. I thought I'd take her home this weekend." Chad said.
Andre gave Molly a few words of advice, urging her to be good.
Molly had somehow adapted to the lifestyle of the Cedillo family. Before, she would frequently run back
to the Byrne family, but now, in the Cedillo family, she could run around in her pajamas and even sleep
in until the afternoon on weekends. She had completely adapted to her new family.
Chad took Molly and left.
Back at the Byrne family, Mr. Kendrick and Coleen just happened to be home. They both knew Molly
was coming home today, so they had come straight home from work.
"Molly, you haven't been home for so long, we thought you didn't want to see us anymore." Coleen
lightly pinched Molly's earlobe, pretending to be a bit mad at her.
Molly innocently said, "I only have two families in my life. I could never abandon you. It's just that I have
a lot of classes this semester, and it's tiring to run back and forth. Now that I'm back, don't be mad,
okay?" After saying this, she playfully kissed Coleen.
Mr. Kendrick, watching Molly, laughed until his eyes were practically closed. "When you get married,
you'll have three families."
"You guys were thinking about sending me to be a nun before, so I might not get married at all." Molly
said.
After she said this, both Mr. Kendrick and Chad couldn't help but chuckle.
Chad picked up an orange from the table, peeled it, and handed it to Molly, "Mia's pregnant, what have
you been doing to help? You looked like you had put on some weight."
Mr. Kendrick and Coleen wouldn't noticed that Molly had indeed gained a bit of weight if Chad didn't
say it.
Upon hearing this, Molly got a bit annoyed. She said, "The pregnancy diet is too fattening. The nanny
cooks according to Mia's preferences at lunch. While she hasn't gained weight, both me and Leo have.
Leo's so sick of the pregnancy diet that he has to go running and work out every night after he gets
home. I can't keep up, so I just gained weight."
While talking, she split the orange into four pieces and fed them to her parents and Chad.
"Tell me how much you missed me at home." Molly said.
Back at the Byrne family, she was still the pampered Jade.
In the evening, Leo was running in the yard, and Mia was taking a walk. She looked pale, and morning
sickness was starting to show. She vomited so badly and couldn't eat anything, which worried Andre a
lot.
Andre had consulted with doctors multiple times, and the answer he got was that some pregnant
women had mild morning sickness, while some might not have it at all. And some, like Mia, were
particularly prone to vomiting.
The doctor prescribed her some medicine specifically for this, and she could take it when she couldn't
bear the vomiting.
Whenever she felt nauseous, Andre would take out the medicine for her to take. She bit her lip and
shook her head.
Mia said, "Whoever feels good when she's pregnant? Just bear with it and it will pass."
The Byrnes were having dinner, and Molly asked, "Mom, did you vomit when you were pregnant?"
Coleen looked at Mr. Kendrick and asked, "I didn't vomit when I was pregnant with Chad, right?"
Mr. Kendrick said, "You were young when you were pregnant with Chad, so you didn't vomit."
Coleen asked Molly again, "Why are you asking this?"
"Mia has morning sickness, and she can't eat anything. As soon as class ends she goes to vomit, it's
pitiful to see. I was asking you, how do you treat morning sickness without medication."
Coleen said, "You have to ask Grandma Aubree about that. She took care of me back in the day, her
homemade hawthorn helped me suppress the urge to vomit."
Molly picked up her phone at the dinner table, ready to call her grandparents.
Mr. Kendrick stopped her, "Call them tomorrow. They're probably sleeping now."
Molly hummed in agreement and put down her phone.
Early the next morning, she got up and called Grandma Aubree, "Grandma Aubree, I have a favor to
ask."
After hearing this, Grandma Aubree said cheerfully, "Great. You and Chad come over. I'll whip up some
wild hawthorn."
Molly hung up the phone, her hair was all over the place, and she ran to knock on the door, "Chad, NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
open up!"
Downstairs in the living room, Chad looked up at Molly knocking on the second floor and said to her,
"I'm downstairs, not in the bedroom."
Molly climbed to the railing and saw that. Sure enough, the whole family was up and about, except for
herself. She thought she was the first one up.
As Molly walked down the stairs, she said, "Grandma Aubree wants us to go back to our hometown,
are you free today?"
"I've already taken time off. I'm free these next couple of days." Chad replied.
Chad had been working non-stop for half a month without any rest. It wasn't until Molly told him she
was going home this week that he took the weekend off.
"Dad, Mom, are you guys going back to our hometown?" Molly asked.
Mr. Kendrick shook his head, "No need, Coleen and I are planning to take a walk in the park. We are
having a date like you young folks."
Hearing her parents' affection, Molly couldn't help but laugh, "Don't forget the roses on your date."
Mr. Kendrick nodded with a smile, "Of course, I'll definitely buy roses."
Chad pointed at Molly and said, "Go upstairs and change, we're heading back to our hometown."
