Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 347

Chapter 347

She jolted them awake. "Wakey wakey, we're heading to Majestic Dining Enclave for grub soon." Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Molly rubbed her eyes and perked up quickly, tidying up her stuff and ready to leave.

Leo's car was still parked downstairs by the library. Andre was the designated driver for the crowd. He

handed his phone to his wife. "Mia, give the manager at Majestic Dining Enclave a call, and get us a

reservation." Mia took his phone and started dialing.

Halfway there, Chad called in to check. "Molly, what's for lunch?"

"We're heading to Majestic Dining Enclave. Have you eaten, bro?"

Chad replied, "I'm having a meal right now."

Back at the restaurant, everyone chuckled as they saw Chad stepping out for another call. "We're all

dying to meet Officer Chad's girlfriend."

"I caught a glimpse of Officer Chad's phone wallpaper yesterday. There's a girl in a pink dress,

probably his girlfriend. She's quite a looker; no wonder Chad's keeping her away from us."

"I saw Officer Chad calling his girlfriend this morning, waking her up. At the hotel's restaurant, he spent

as much time chatting with her as he did eating breakfast."

The chatter among the police officers turned to Chad. "Officer Chad is the youngest among us, isn't

he?"

"Yep, he's only 26 and already making a name for himself. The bosses have taken notice, and he might

get a promotion when we get back."

Someone joked, "Let's not get carried away. We're here for a meeting."

Not long after, Chad returned to the room, clearly in high spirits from his call.

"Chad, when are you getting engaged? Don't forget to invite us to your wedding!" The local police chief

laughed.

Chad thought of the woman at home, and a bitter smile crossed his face. Him and her? He wasn't even

sure if they could stay together.

"Marrying her might be a bit of a stretch."

He had been Molly's brother for 15 years, and she had always seen him as a real brother. No one

could just switch from seeing someone as a sibling to a lover after learning about their true relationship.

He had tried to remind her, but she never considered it. Maybe, she was too scared to.

She had no idea about her own feelings.

Chad thought, that if he told her, she might have been scared away from the Byrne family or avoided

him even at home.

Helping her accept him and change the image of him she had for 15 years was a tall order. Chad had

to take it slow.

A colleague asked him, "What, your family doesn't approve?"

Chad thought of his parents and shook his head. "Let's talk about the future later. I have some thoughts

on the counterfeit money case the chief mentioned earlier that I'd like to discuss..."

Chad deliberately deflected, avoiding talking about his love life.

One of Kendrick's friends was also at the meeting, and they were quite close.

The friend had heard about Chad's beautiful girlfriend, but it seemed that the Byrne family's parents

didn't approve. In the evening, the friend called Mr. Kendrick. "Mr. Kendrick, why aren't you eager for a

grandchild?"

Mr. Kendrick was confused. "What?"

The friend patiently explained, "Chad is 26 now, t5about time he settled down. He's really into this girl,

why won't you guys accept it? His wife will be the one spending the rest of her life with Chad, not you."

Mr. Kendrick was still confused. "What?"

The friend continued, "I heard the girl is quite pretty, and they're very close, always together. We can't

stand in the way of their happiness."

Mr. Kendrick was still baffled. "What?"

"Hey, Mr. Kendrick, are you hearing me?" The friend asked, not hearing a response.

Mr. Kendrick replied, "I heard you." But he had no idea what was going on.

The friend hurriedly clarified his relationship with Chad. "Chad didn't ask me to tell you this, he doesn't

know that I know. I just thought I should discuss it with you as an elder."

Mr. Kendrick asked, "Who is my son's girlfriend?"

"Huh? You don't know?"

Mr. Kendrick looked at his wife, Coleen Byrne, who was equally puzzled. "What's going on?"

"Honey, does our son have a girlfriend?"

Coleen widened her eyes in surprise. "Didn't he say he was waiting till he's 30 to get married? He told

us not to rush him."

The friend finally got it. "Oh, so you guys didn't know about your son's girlfriend? That means I... oh

man, I've really stuck my foot in my mouth this time!" The friend regretted his loose lips.

Mr. Kendrick asked, "What's my son's girlfriend's name?"

The friend replied, "I don't know her name. She's the girl in the dress on Chad's phone wallpaper. I

heard about her from some colleagues at lunch today, but I've never actually seen her."

Mr. Kendrick said, "Alright, I know who you're talking about."

"Huh? How do you know now? I thought you didn't know?"

Mr. Kendrick thought to himself, “That's my daughter, how could I not know!”

After hanging up, Mr. Kendrick looked at his wife, about to speak, but she had already guessed. "It's

our daughter!"

Mr. Kendrick nodded. "I'll give our son a call and see what's up."

On the other side, Chad was video chatting with Molly while washing his face, and so was Molly.

"Dude, I studied so hard today, I can't even put into words how focused I was. Just wait, next year, I'm

gonna bring you a national scholarship. Once I get this scholarship, I'm gonna buy you a new phone.

Don't swap out your phone. Wait for me to get you a new one."

Chad dried his face, and a small smile appeared on his lips, hearing Molly's voice. Even though he

hadn't seen that phone yet, just hearing Molly's words made him feel sweet.

"And you, the kind of student who's always distracted in class, skipping class, and playing with your

phone, are supposed to get the school's scholarship?"

While Molly was brushing her teeth, her mouth was full of foam. "But I always sit in the first row in every

class. Plus, I've learned a lot this term. I'm sure I can rank in the top five in the class in the upcoming

exam. I'm qualified to compete for the scholarship. Mia probably has no interest in being my competitor,

and neither does Leo. As long as I do well in this exam and maintain stable grades, there's a good

chance I'll get the scholarship."

Chad, holding his phone, was lying half on the hotel bed watching her. "Molly, you gotta pull your

weight, my new phone is waiting for you."

"Alright, Chad."

Just then, Chad's phone rang. He saw it was a call from his father. "Molly, you go brush up, I need to

take a call."

"Alright, see you."

After hanging up the video call, Chad picked up his father's call. "Hello, Dad?"
