Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 367

Chapter 367

Listen to that audacious tone.

Molly retorted, "When it comes to audacity, even the gods can't stand you."

"Could you really calm down after hearing about Chad's incident last night?" Mia asked her friend.

"Well, not really. But just before I left home, it dawned on me that if I acted recklessly, it would only

affect my brother. The investigators are just doing their jobs. The real villain is the anonymous

informant."

Mia nodded, "Good. Last night, Leo and I were worried you'd rush over without thinking. We almost

sent Leo to the Byrne house to stop you."

"By the way, Mia, are our brother and dad okay?" Molly asked.

Mia shook her head, "Our family wasn't affected. From what our brother said, Chad was hit the

hardest."

Molly suddenly turned serious, "I have a feeling something's not quite right. Why does it seem like

they're targeting my brother?"

...

Donnie returned to the police station, where he revealed Molly's identity to his colleagues. The news

left everyone stunned, followed by a sudden question from someone, "If Molly and Captain Chad aren't

blood-related siblings, why do they look like...?"

The room fell silent. Everyone knew how protective Chad was of Molly.

Although Donnie wasn't as capable as Chad, he was still considered one of the promising young men.

Molly being with him seemed like a good match. However, Chad, under the guise of his status as

brother, had beaten up Donnie twice.

Even if they were real siblings, was that necessary?

The office fell quiet for a moment before Donnie hastily defended, "Well, they've been like siblings for

more than a decade. What's wrong with the Captain caring too much for Molly? If I found a sister and

raised her for over a decade, the bond would be just as strong.

"Besides, stop thinking about me being with Molly. I'm a taken man now. If my girlfriend were to find out

about my past, she'd give me a piece of her mind."

Laughter filled the room as his colleagues teased him, calling him 'henpecked husband.’

Donnie then sat before his computer, searching for the information Chad requested.

After having lunch, Leo dropped Molly off at her workplace. "Molly, go rest a bit before you start work."

"Alright, I'll go rest in my mom's office." Molly approached the passenger side where Mia was seated

and spoke, "You're pregnant. Try not to move around too much. If I find out anything about the incident,

I'll call you."

Mia nodded, "If you're feeling upset, remember to call us."

"Don't worry. No one will upset me."

As Molly walked back to Chade Inc, Mia looked at Leo, "What did your uncle tell you at Majestic Dining

Enclave?"

Leo: "First, no eating randomly. Second, no getting involved in fights. Third, no investigating last night's

incident."

Mia asked again, "Did he say anything else? Your call lasted quite a while. It couldn't have been that

simple."

Leo tried to deceive Mia, but when he failed, he quickly improvised and came up with something else.

Back home, Leo handed Mia over to his mother, Naomi, safe and sound.

Holding Mia's hand, Naomi led her back to the bedroom, "You nearly gave me a heart attack. Where

did you go?"

"We just went out for a meal, Naomi. Don't worry, I'm an adult. I won't get lost or put myself in danger." Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Mia was then whisked away for a lecture.

Sitting in his car, Leo called Andre. Perhaps Andre was busy, as nobody answered. Remembering his

uncle's words during their call, Leo started the car and left the Cedillo residence.

Naomi was still in Mia's room, talking to her earnestly, "Mia, you're going to be a mother soon, and you

need to be careful. You don't need to worry about the house affairs. All I want is for you to be happy

and stay away from danger."

"Naomi, you're too worried. I know I'm pregnant, so I won't take on dangerous tasks.

"We just went out for a meal today. After hearing about Chad's incident last night, Molly was worried.

Leo and I were afraid she'd act rashly, so we arranged to have lunch together to comfort her." Of

course, other things were discussed as well.

Mia continued, "Who would have known you all thought I was going out to fight? Am I that foolish? If

anything happened to me, I'd lose my baby."

Naomi gently patted Mia, "Don't ever say such a thing."

Mia quickly responded, "I won't, I won't. My baby is healthy, and I'm healthy too."

When it was time for Mia's nap, she was the first to yawn.

Naomi didn't linger, instructing her to rest, "When you wake up, we'll continue our talk."

Mia: "Ah, more talk?"

Naomi chuckled, "Go to sleep, I'll turn off the lights."

Mia lay in bed, and Naomi quietly left, turning off the lights on her way out.

Once in bed, Mia felt less sleepy. She gently placed her hand on her belly, feeling her unborn child.

Usually, it was her husband who loved to touch her belly. Almost every night, Andre would place his

hand on her belly and gently caress it before bedtime.

Even though he never verbally expressed his love for the baby, his actions showed his anticipation for

their child's arrival.

With her eyes closed, Mia whispered, "Baby, carrying you hasn't been easy. You need to be good, and

you need to let me be good too."

She fell asleep with her hand on her belly.

Just as Mia was drifting off, she felt a movement in her belly, and her eyes immediately opened.

...

Chad hadn't gone home. Instead, he sat in his car, engrossed in the information Alice had sent him.

Unknowingly, it was already noon.

It wasn't until Leo called that he snapped out of his thoughts.

He answered, "Leo?"

Leo replied, "Chad, my uncle sent me to see you."

Back at Majestic Dining Enclave, Andre's conversation with his nephew wasn't just about protecting his

aunts. He had also said, "Leo, you're twenty-one years old. You're a man, not a boy..."

Naomi always treated her son as if he were still a little boy, shielding him from any troubles at home,

keeping him in the dark.

But Andre thought differently. He believed that a boy should step up and take on family responsibilities

as early as possible.

Everyone grew up. They too, were getting older.

How long could they protect Leo?

If Leo didn't grow up, he would never be ready to take on the bigger challenges of life.

"I know you're good friends with Mia and Molly," Andre told him one day, "but they're girls. How long do

you think you can keep trailing behind them?

It's time for you to grow up, Leo. You should start getting involved in family matters."

Eventually, Andre gave him a task. "Take the girls home, and then go see Chad."
