Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 386

Chapter 386

Holly couldn’t read Mia’s expression, but she nodded with a grin. “Yeah.”

Soon, a nurse approached Holly. “Hello, your family member just went to move the car and asked me

to let you know that once your examination is over, you can find him in the parking lot.”

Mia was about to ask something else when Holly abruptly got up to leave. “I should get going. We can

catch up next time.”

Mia smiled and nodded. “We’re also about to leave. See you next time.”

As Holly disappeared into the elevator, Mia puffed her cheeks and let out a deep breath. “Gosh,

anything really can happen in this world.”

She spun around, searching for the father and son who were chatting in the hallway. She quickly darted

over to them. “I’ve got some big news that will blow your minds!”

Hansen looked down on his daughter-in-law. “What news? You look like you’ve discovered some great

secret or something.”

What Mia revealed next left Hansen and his son in shock. “Holly is the pregnant girl we’ve been talking

about. The baby isn’t her bodyguard’s, and it’s not connected with the secret child of Finley. It’s actually

Finley’s!”

Her words impacted them like a stone dropped into a still lake, sending ripples through their thoughts.

Shocked, Hansen was at a loss for words. Mia took this opportunity to tease him, “Look at my dad, so

shocked by something so simple. We were just talking about who the father of the baby is, and it’s like

I’ve scared him silly.”

Hansen and his son exchanged a glance, both bewildered.

Mia looked back and forth between them like a clueless child, not understanding their silent

communication. Later, she stepped between them, holding Andre’s hand. “Honey, what were you and

dad silently communicating about? Let me in on it too.”

Hansen asked his daughter-in-law, “How did you find out? Why would she tell a stranger something like

that?”

Mia replied, “Dad, you’re underestimating me. Do you think I would be stupid enough to directly ask?

She would definitely feel embarrassed and not tell me.”

“Instead, I asked her if her husband was also present for the checkup. Because she didn’t think I know

who she is. She let her guard down and told me her husband’s driver accompanied her today.”

Smart Mia added, “I didn’t even get to ask her anything else before she had to leave. I couldn’t follow

her too closely, or she would have suspected something.”

Hansen let out a surprised grunt. He had indeed underestimated Mia.

Their trip to the hospital was only for a simple checkup and consultation. It wasn’t time for the next

prenatal visit yet, so they didn’t spend too much time there before leaving.

Mia didn’t tell Molly that they were leaving. As the car drove away from the hospital, Mia started

chatting animatedly, patting her husband’s shoulder and reminding him to drive slowly. “Honey, drive

slowly. I’m looking for a place.”

Andre pointed in a direction. “The bakery Is over there.”

“Wow, how do you know I am looking for a bakery?” Mia turned to look at her husband. Her eyes were

full of surprise.

Andre chuckled indulgently. “Because I know you.”

She had been smelling the aroma from the bakery and couldn’t resist the temptation.

It was nearly eleven o’clock. The bakery wasn’t crowded. Andre parked the car temporarily on the side

of the road, keeping the air conditioning on. He went to buy pastries for his wife and father while they

stayed in the car.

Hansen was also craving the pastries, but he didn’t say it out loud. Andre knew it. He just didn’t say it

directly. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

Mia was in the car, searching for a song to listen to on her phone. Hansen teased his daughter-in-law

again, “Why can’t we just chat in the car? Why do you want to listen to that nonsense?”

Mia responded, “It’s called setting the mood.”

“Noisy.”

Mia realized that people from her father’s generation preferred old-fashioned music. They couldn’t

appreciate the popular music she liked. Although he was open to new trends, games, and snacks, his

aesthetic preferences had been set in stone for many years and wouldn’t be influenced by younger

generations.

Eventually, Mia found an old song on her phone that Hansen liked. “Is this song okay?”

Hansen nodded approvingly upon hearing it. “Yes, this song is not bad. Your mother loved this song

back in the day.” As he spoke, Hansen fell into a nostalgic reverie. “I bought your mother a record

player with a month’s salary. She would listen to this song all day at home, and I would have to dance

with her when I got off work.”

Mia was curious about their love story and turned to look at Hansen, who was lost in his memories.

Before long, Andre returned to the car. He heard the old song playing and knew immediately that his

wife had put it on for his father.

Mia asked her father, “Wasn’t it awkward dancing at home with mom?”

Andre was also curious and looked at his father.

“At first, it was a little off, but then your mother said if I couldn’t relax myself in front of her, it meant I

didn’t see her as my wife. So, I started dancing with her, and after a while, it felt natural.

“Back then, your mother and I wanted to have a daughter. But the first two times, we had sons. When

she was pregnant with Molly, she was afraid to give birth, scared it would be another boy.”

Andre remembered his mother as a gentle woman, especially after his sister was born. She was

always smiling, and her good mood was infectious. He looked at his wife next to him. If his mother had

been still alive, she would definitely have loved this quirky daughter-in-law.

“Donut.” Andre handed two bags of pastries to his wife. “Strawberry and coconut flavoured. Share them

with dad.”

Mia grabbed a donut and handed it to her father in the back seat. “Dad, these are really delicious. You

have to try them.”

Hansen took a bite and agreed, “The taste is indeed good. We’ve discovered another great bakery.”

Upon hearing this, Mia laughed, “Dad, you’re keeping up with the young generation.” She added, “We

have to save some for Naomi. She should try them when we get home.”

After the Cedillo family left, Tom dared to bring Holly out. He questioned Holly about her earlier

conversation with Mia, “What did you two talk about?”

Irritated by his aggressive tone, Holly retorted, “Nothing much. We’re both pregnant, so we were just

talking about our babies.”

Tom warned her again, “You’re not allowed to interact with her. Are you not taking my words seriously?”

Holly felt like she was being suffocated. “What are you so afraid of?” she demanded. Her voice was

raising in frustration. “I’m a human being, so I can make friends if I want. You’re just my husband’s

chauffeur. You have no right to control me.”

After saying that, she stormed off, leaving Tom standing there in the hospital. He was there for more

than just accompanying Holly for her checkup. He had another pressing matter to attend to - to check

on Chad’s condition.

Tom had previously wrecked his car in an attempt to kill Chad, but the man had miraculously survived,

much to Tom’s chagrin.

This miscalculation had caused Finley, his boss, to be furious.
