Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 407

Chapter 407

Mia straightened up. “Michael is the guy who was hospitalized after being beaten up by me,” she

announced, holding her phone up for emphasis.

Leo and Molly were silent. Memories of a certain incident were still fresh in their minds.

Mia scrolled through her phone, and showed them her messages with Michael, which were full of witty

banter and jokes.

Michael, who she had sent countless thumbs-up emojis to, was with promises of cash bonuses. Mia

grimaced. “All this is for a measly two hundred bucks.”

At the mention of their shared past, Leo and Molly broke into hearty applause for Mia.

The man upstairs, Andre, couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight. He knew what was going on—another

one of his wife’s funny schemes.

Leo sneakily glanced towards Andre’s study, meeting his eyes and receiving a nod of approval from

him.

Mia was blissfully unaware of her husband’s cunning nature; he could fool anyone, even his beloved

wife. She was even trying to hide this plan from him.

After minutes of strategizing, Mia decided she would be the one to reach out to Michael. She knew him

best, after all. While sending him messages on her phone, she reassured her family, “When it gets

tough, you can always count on me.”

Out of nowhere, a message from Sugar Mama popped up on Michael’s screen.

Mia, the Sugar Mama, texted, [Remember all those thumbs up I sent you? Maybe you should thank

me.]

Michael said, [I’m just an ordinary guy, with no money, but plenty of time.]

Sugar Mama replied, [I’m not interested in your money. I’ll pay you fifty thousand to do a job for me.

Bring your friends.]

Leo got up as soon as he saw the message, intending to report to Andre.

Mia said, “Hold up! Why are you going to my husband? Are you trying to get me in trouble?”

Leo said, “So what do you suggest?”

Remembering her husband’s stern face, Mia decided not to take credit for the plan. She tossed the

responsibility to Leo, saying, “If anyone asks, say it was your idea.”

Leo replied, “Aren’t you afraid I’ll take all the credit?”

Mia brushed it off with a smirk. “You’re family anyway. If it works, you can take the praise. If it

doesn’t…”

She trailed off, letting Molly fill in the blanks. If the plan backfired, Andre would blame Leo, not them.

Molly nodded in agreement, pulling Mia away from Leo. They wanted no part in this if things went

south.

Leo watched them walk away, shaking his head in disbelief. When he saw Andre, he updated him, “Mia

suggested we hire some guys to scare the hell out of those two. The team is ready, and we’ve agreed

on the price.” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Suddenly, he added, “Oh, and Mia said you’re covering the cost. She needs her money to raise the

kid.”

Andre simply nodded in agreement, hiding his amusement at Mia’s thriftiness.

Things moved quickly after that. The amusement park was temporarily closed for ‘maintenance’. A sign

was placed at the entrance, and six men stood guard, preventing anyone from lining up for the ghost

house attraction.

Leo arrived, and the men immediately saluted him, “Leo, everything’s set up. The boss is waiting for

you in the surveillance room.”

Leo nodded. His demeanor was surprisingly similar to Andre’s. He had been groomed by Andre from a

young age, after all. Outside of his family, he was the esteemed Leo of the Cedillo family, unmatched in

his grace and elegance.

Without a hint of his youthful innocence, he ordered, “Bring the two men from the car in.”

The eyes of the two men were covered with black cloth. They were led into the dark room. Michael,

who had hoped to see the trio that had sent him to the hospital, was disappointed. Mia was pregnant

and couldn’t move around much. Molly was a working woman who couldn’t get time off. So he only saw

Leo.

“Where’s Sugar Mama?” Michael asked Leo about Mia’s whereabouts.

Leo said, “She’s at home, taking care of the baby.”

Thinking of what Mia had asked him to do, Michael joked, “She’s quite a handful, even when she’s

pregnant. I wonder if Andre can handle her.”

Leo thought of the man waiting in the surveillance room. “You’re underestimating Andre. No matter how

tough Mia is, she’s nothing but a puppet in Andre’s hands.”

Michael raised an eyebrow, as if understanding. “So it’s Andre…”

Leo laughed a little, looking at Michael. “It’s up to you now.” After saying that, he headed straight for the

surveillance room.

Inside the room, Andre sat in the most prominent position, flanked by the park’s managers. A chair was

left empty next to Andre, which was obviously reserved for Leo. He was the eldest son of the Cedillo

family, after all, so he deserved to sit with the people of the Cedillo Group.

Once seated, he turned to Andre. “Everything’s ready.”

Andre gave a slight nod. His face was unreadable as always.

They watched the screen. The two men who had been led into the dark room started acting like fools,

laughing and waving their arms around.

Leo leaned forward, with one hand pressing against the armrest of his chair, the other on the table, a

frown on his face.

Andre was calm, leaning back in his chair. His expression was unchanged as he watched the men on

the screen.

Leo turned to look at his uncle, sensing that something was off. After waiting for five minutes, he saw

that the two men still had no idea they were in a haunted house. They were acting like fools in every

room, probably looking for a switch on the wall.

He picked up his phone and texted Michael, [Why hasn’t it started yet?]

Michael sent a voice message, “Don’t rush. We’re setting the stage with some silence to create a

spooky atmosphere.”

Leo texted back, [Andre is watching.]

Hearing this, Michael quickly replied, “One minute.”

Leo’s message seemed to work. The ghost actors swiftly took their positions.

The dark, eerie room seemed devoid of life, putting the two men at ease. Suddenly, as they were

walking, Kyle felt something wet on his ankle. Looking down, he was shocked to see a skeletal hand,

which was gleaming bloodily and grasping his ankle. Bone-chilling coldness seeped from it, along with

drops of blood.

Kyle’s chin trembled as he gripped his father’s arm. Filled with terror, he turned to see a spectral

woman crawling towards them.

She was draped in a white gown. Her hair was loose and wild. Her eyes were fitted with white contacts,

which made her look eyeless. There were blood tears streaming down her face. Her skin looked as if it

had been smeared with white paste, giving her an eerily skeletal appearance. She continued to crawl

towards them.

“Oh my God!” Kyle screamed in fear at the sight of the “ghost.”

In the security room, Leo watched the scene unfold with a growing sense of fear, glancing at his uncle

beside him.

Sure enough, Andre was as steady as a rock, watching the monitor without a hint of fear in his eyes.

Sensing his nephew’s fear, Andre didn’t ridicule him. After all, everyone experienced these things

differently. He motioned with his eyes for Leo to sit next to him.
