Larissa pursed her lips. “There’s nothing else to eat at home.”

She had secretly bought a pack of instant noodles when she moved in and hid it in her bedroom. She had thought it would finally come in handy today, but things turned out differently.

“If there’s no food at home, don’t you know you can order takeout? You can hop from your bedroom to the kitchen on one leg, but you can’t take a few more steps to the door? If you don’t want to move, you can even call my mom and ask her to bring you lood” Kevan scolded Larissa, leaving her too stunned to come up with a retort.

“Forget it” Ruby grabbed Kevan’s hand and said. “It’s line to have instant noodles occasionally.”

Kevan glanced at Larissa and lellsient,

“It’s fine, I can do it on my own.”

Ruby turned around to look at Kevan, chewing on her lip sadly, Kevan stopped what he was doing and took a step forward, blocking Larissa’s path,

“Apologize to Ruby,” he said, looking at her condescendingly.

Larissa was taken aback, feeling just as sad as the expression Ruby had put on. However, she didn’t showi

“I’m sorry,” she said to Ruby.

Ruby pretended to be magnanimous.

“It’s okay! Why are you making her apologize for no reason? Tm fine!”

Larissa didn’t want to stay there and watch the two of them fit and argue. Hence, she hurriedly hopped away and she almost tripped in the process.

Meanwhile, Kevan watched her departing figure, wanting to go and support her but he retracted his hand in the end.

When Larissa was done ordering takeout, the two of them came out of the kitchen.

“Larissa, how’s your leg healing? Ruby sat next to her, asking with concem.

“it’s almost healed,” Larissa replied nonchalantly.

“Let me take a look. I’m worried that your wound might have reopened when I saw you almost fall just now.” Ruby reached for her call, wanting to undo her bandages. “I used to be an orthopedic doctor at Victory General Hospital but I resigned after my marriage. Don’t worry though, my professional knowledge is still pretty sound. I can tell your bones have fully healed with a short diagnosis.”

“It’s fine.” Larissa wanted to avoid her touch. “I have a lolow-up appointment the day alter tomorrow, so I see the doctor then.”

She disliked Ruby, so she disliked her touch as well However, Kevan held her shoulder, preventing her hom moving away.

*Let Ruby take a look. In case it has reopened, we can go to the hospital and have it treated in time,” he said.

With two of them working against her, she had no choice but to agree.

Fine.”

Following Ruby’s instructions, Larissa placed her injured leg flat on the sofa.

“Kevan, do you have scissors and bandages at home?” Ruby asked.

“Yes, I’ll go get them.”

Just as Kevan left the room, Larissa felt a sharp pain in her leg.
