Tenacious Sky

Chapter 16

Chapter 16

"Okay," Easton dragged out. "Let's set our things in our rooms and meet back here in ten minutes,"

Easton said. We went up to our room with Leo carrying our bags.

"Whoa," I breathed as I admired the room. It was brightly lit and clean. It looked high class. The set up

itself was fairly simple: bathroom, closet, tv, desk, and queen sized bed.

"There's only one bed," I noted. Leo sighed and rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"Yeah, sorry about that. They only had this type of room available," he apologized. I moved my bag to

the closet before sighing.

"We can figure it out later. For now, let's go play," I said, shaking it off. I grabbed Leo's wrist and pulled

him out of the room. When we made it back to the lobby, everyone was already waiting for us.

"Let's go," Easton said happily. We went to eat lunch first. The restaurant was fairly nice.

"I've been meaning to ask, why do you call Sky your kid?" Nathan asked Leo as we ate. Leo finished

chewing his food before glancing at him.

"Because he is my kid. I'm responsible for him," Leo answered. In some ways, that was actually true.

Leo has completely taken over being responsible for me. It made sense. We talked animatedly

throughout our meal. Well, everyone except Leo. He sat eating his food quietly. Only ever moving

otherwise to wipe something from my mouth due to my clumsiness. After lunch we went to the mall.

"Easton!" Someone yelled from the center of the mall. It came from a group of girls. Easton smiled

knowingly.

"I invited some of the girls from Stone Lake Academy," Easton explained. We went around introducing

ourselves to them and vice versa. For the most part, they seemed like nice girls.

"Wait, aren't you Leo the swimmer?" One of the girls asked. Leo looked like he couldn't be bothered as

he sighed with his hands in his pockets. NôvelDrama.Org content.

"He doesn't talk much, but yeah that's him," Ryker slid into the conversation.

"I'm Freya," she smiled at Leo. Leo didn't even budge. I nudged him with my elbow before giving him a

look. Even if he was like this, he shouldn't be this way to girls too.

"Hi," he said simply before facing me.

"Let's go look around," he said before dragging me off by my wrist.

"Don't worry about him. He only cares about his kid," I heard Ryker say as we left. When we were far

enough away, I pulled my wrist out of his grasp.

"What was that? She was totally into you," I asked as he turned to look at me.

"I'm not interested in girls like her," he answered tiredly.

"You don't even know her," I reminded him. He smirked before we continued walking at a leisurely

pace.

"I know her type. Overly peppy perfectionist who is just interested in the fact that I swim and win

medals sometimes," he said.

"You couldn't possibly know that for sure," I countered.

"It's blindingly obvious to me. I'm fairly good at reading people. I can read you like a worn out book," he

chuckled.

"Hey!" I protested. He smiled before slinging an arm around my shoulders.

"Come on," he said, changing the subject.
