Chapter 556
Chapter 556
Nana was worried when she saw Adrian and Aileen rush outside, so she followed them.
“Where is Mommy? How come she suddenly disappeared?”
Adrian was getting anxious. He looked around but didn’t see Eliana.
“Adrian, do you think Mommy crossed paths with a bad person? I’m really worried. Let’s call the police!”
Aileen nervously grabbed her brother’s hand. Worry was written all over her face.
While the kids were worried, Nana, who was taller than them, saw two persons’ shadows under the big tree not far away. She instantly figured out everything.
One of the two seemed to be Eliana. She should be fine. She probably didn’t want the children to see the man she was with.
Having understood what was happening, Nana hastened to reassure the two children. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Hey darlings, don’t worry. I assure you that your mommy is fine. It’s so cold. We’d better hurry back inside, or we’ll catch a cold.”
Hearing what Nana said, Adrian was alerted at once. “Nana, how do you know Mommy is fine? What’s going on?”
Adrian was very smart. It was getting more and more difficult to fool him.
Nana couldn’t help but sigh in her heart. She looked at the big tree under which Eliana and Maurice were, and explained aloud, “Your mommy is fine! You kids should know that you should give your mommy some private time, okay?”
Aileen’s eyes lit up upon hearing what Nana said. She replied immediately, “I understand what you mean, Nana. You want us to give Mommy more private time to go on a date, right?”
“Aileen! Don’t talk nonsense!” Adrian said angrily. The idea of his mother dating someone just pissed him off.
“Adrian, you are still a kid. You can’t understand such things. I won’t blame you,” Aileen said calmly, patting Adrian on the shoulder like an adult. As she did, she couldn’t help laughing.
Adrian’s face grew red with anger. He wanted to argue with Aileen, but before he could open his mouth Nana grabbed his and Aileen’s hands and led them back inside.
Meanwhile, Eliana was hiding behind the big tree. It wasn’t until the children had returned to the house that she breathed a sigh of relief and walked out from behind the tree.
“Why are we hiding? It’s not like your kids have never seen me before.”
Maurice’s face darkened. He didn’t understand why Eliana had dragged him here.
She was so nervous, like they might be caught committing adultery.
The moment Eliana saw her kids, she didn’t think twice and just pulled Maurice away subconsciously. Why did she do that?
“Don’t think too much, I just feel a bit ashamed…” Eliana explained shyly.
“Ashamed?” Maurice’s face became even gloomier, as if he was going to lose his temper any moment. “Are you ashamed of me?” he asked coldly.
“No, no, no!” Eliana was stunned that he would think such a thing. His cold aura frightened her to the bones. She shook her head and explained, “It’s all my fault. When we moved, I told the kids that I
would never see you again. If they see us together, they’ll think I’ve gone back on my word. That would destroy the image of the honest mommy in their hearts.”
Eliana looked really miserable as she explained the matter to Maurice. Maurice couldn’t help laughing at this moment.
He gently stroke Eliana’s forehead with his fingertips and said, “I told you not to make promises casually. See what you’ve gotten yourself into now?”
It wasn’t until Maurice’s fingertips touched Eliana’s cold skin that he realized they had been standing outside for a long time. He was fine, but Eliana’s hair was still wet and she was wearing thin clothes. No wonder she was so cold.
It they stayed here, she would definitely catch a cold.
“Come, follow me,” he said, pulling Eliana towards his car.
Eliana tried to protest, but he quietly shoved her into his car.
Once in the car, he turned on the heat and then took out a clean towel which he handed to her.
“Get your hair dry,” he said with a gentle smile.
“Thank you.”
Eliana gladly took the towel. The heat in the car did her a world of good. She had been out for so long that she was almost frozen.
She took the towel and began to dry her hair.
While Eliana was drying her hair, Maurice’s eyes unconsciously fell on her hair which had been partially cut off.
He was the one who cut it last night.
He guessed that Eliana didn’t remember what happened last night. After all, she was drunk. Otherwise, she would have already come to get even with him.
Maurice stifled his laughter, afraid that Eliana would notice it.
However, his eyes betrayed his laughter. Eliana could no longer hide her discomfort. She covered her partially cut hair and said angrily, “Stop looking at it! How dare you laugh after cutting my hair?”
