Chapter 34: (Xavier's POV)- Blushed Beautifully
She kept that smile on her face before excusing herself and running away gracefully. I kept in my laugh
until she couldn't hear before letting it out and crashing on my bed, knocking out moments later.
I woke up to the sound of loud laughter, squeals, and shrieks coming from downstairs. I stirred before
rubbing the sleep out of my eyes and getting out of bed, not bothering to put my shirt on. I walked out
of my room and stopped at the top of the stairs and began watching the scene unfold in front of me.
Aubrey was standing at my porch, laughing with someone who I soon found out after going down a set
of stairs to see Peter holding her in his arms and spinning her around before setting her down and
poking her to make her laugh.
My jaw clenched before I went back up and into my room, heading to my bathroom and brushing my
teeth, I guess I'm gonna have to try that silent treatment thing again. Once I refreshed myself, deciding
to take a shower later tonight, I threw on a fresh pair of grey joggers and kept my shirt off, who knows,
maybe it'll help my argument.
I went down to make myself breakfast to see her sitting on my porch, talking to him while he sat beside
her. I noticed that she kept the door open so she wouldn't get locked out and I'm not gonna lie, I
thought of locking them both out but why the hell would I want to leave her out with him? I need to bring
her in and then lock him out. But is she going to let that happen? I don't think so. I need to bring her
inside. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Aubrey, where did you keep the cereal?" I called out. Original, I know. Smart, right? Funny thing is, I
know that she doesn't eat cereal unless there's absolutely nothing else to eat. I heard her groan.
"I'll be right back," she said to him. "What do you want? I don't eat cereal, you know that." She huffed
while walking into the kitchen and resting her palms onto the counter, grabbing the edge of it while
leaning forward.
"Well, there's no one else in the house and I can't find the cereal. If you didn't eat it then where the hell
did it go?" I asked while opening the pantry, glad that the cereal was at the back and invisible from
where she was standing.
She rolled her eyes, "Are you sure it isn't there? Did you check properly, Parker? If I find it I swear to
god," she spoke through gritted teeth while walking over to me.
I took this as an opportunity to back up and head over to the front door while she grabbed the cereal.
"I see it but I can't reach it." she stretched, going onto her toes to try and grab it but failing due to her
adorably short height. She turned to look at me, making me freeze. "Can you get it? It's on the topmost
shelf? I'll be right back just let me tell him to leave," she spoke while ushering over to the front door and
stepping out.
I stood there, behind the door listening to their conversation.
"I have to go, you should go, I know your friends are probably waiting for you."
I guess he had plans but stopped by just to see her. "Can I call you later?" he asked her.
They fell into silence which told me she was hesitating. "Um- I'm a little busy today but I'll call you when
I'm free, okay?" She lied straight to his face, and I loved it, every second of it.
"Oh okay, sure," he said before I heard footsteps fading away.
I heard her let out a groan and sigh before she mumbled, "All for an asshole."
I smiled to myself before rushing over and grabbing the cereal. "Got it," I grinned as she walked back
over to me.
"Great," she gave me a small smile. "So uh- do you have any plans for today?" she asked me.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion before answering her. "No why? Something special?" I inquired.
"No, but actually Violet and Ace are coming back tomorrow and she was asking me if we could all hang
out. I was wondering if you're free today, we can come up with plans," she shrugged.
"They're coming back together? I thought they both went with their families?" I was confused. That little
shit didn't tell me anything apart from how beautiful her eyes were and how her hair shone under the
sun. I'm not even kidding.
"Oh they did, they went with their families but their families wanted to stay longer and I know Violet
wanted to come back cause she wanted to hang out and she's been hanging out with Ace so maybe
she convinced him to come back too? I'm not too sure but they're coming back," she finished still in
doubt of Violet's situation.
"And she wants all of us to hang out? Together?" I questioned.
"That was Ace's idea, he suggested it, said something about a double date?" Her eyes lit up with
amusement while I blushed slightly. "You know anything about that?" she asked me.
"Uh- no. No, I don't know anything about that. Anything else he said?" I pressed further.
"I guess you'll never know." She shrugged before heading over to the couch, plopping down on it. Way
to leave me hanging Aubrey, thanks.
"You want breakfast?" I offered while I poured milk over my cereal.
"I already had a fruit salad, I'm good. Thanks for asking though." She gave me a small smile.
"What is it with you and having fruits like every damn day?" I asked while walking over and sitting down
next to her.
"They're good for you and they taste good," she shrugged. "Unlike cereal which a lot of people prefer."
She gave me a sickly sweet smile before getting up and going to the kitchen where she got herself a
glass of water. Her phone which rested beside me began ringing. "Can you get that for me?" she called
out. I don't know why but that made my heart straight up happy. She's not hiding anything from me, she
wasn't worried about someone that I didn't want to be calling her, she didn't care about me finding out
who it was, which just meant she had nothing to hide.
"Sure," I replied before picking up the phone.
It was Violet.
"Hello?" I spoke on the phone. I was expecting a response but was greeted with silence.
"What the hell have you done with my best friend?" she questioned me.
Well damn. "Nothing, Violet. What would I do with her?" I watched as Aubrey froze and placed her
glass on the counter, rushing back over to me.
"Give me the phone! Xavier!" she yelled as I pulled it out of her reach.
"You were saying something Violet? Continue please." I spoke on the phone while Aubrey began
looking flustered and blushed.
"You heard about that double date I presume? You better show up, Xavier. It's important not just for me
and ace but Aubrey too. She likes you," Violet explained.
"Does she now?" I put the phone on the speaker just to see her squirm more. "Why'd you play dumb
right there? You know she likes you, she talks well about you all the time. How you make her laugh,
how she gets butterflies, how she blushes and-" sadly Aubrey cut her short.
"Violet, shut up!" she shouted.
I guess that alerted Violet that I put her on speaker since she panicked. "I'm sorry I didn't know that dick
put me on speaker! Xavier, I'll kill you!" she screamed before I heard Ace calling her over in the
background and she hung up. Once she hung up, I pulled my arm back down, back in Aubrey's reach
and she almost instantly grabbed my arm, snatching her phone from my hand.
"That was unnecessary. You should've just taken a message if she even had one to give since she
blabbers a lot and hung up, that's why I asked," she huffed while shoving her phone in her back pocket
and running her hand through her hair before throwing it up in a bun.
"Embarrassed are we? Why don't you be, it's okay to confess your love for me to your best friend. I
always knew you were in love with me anyway," I exaggerated, making her smack my shoulder. "Ouch,
that hurt!" I rubbed where she hit me.
She sighed in exhaustion while I rested my head on her shoulder, looking up as she blushed
beautifully.
