Chapter 45: Rolling skating
Chapter 45: Rolling skating
Chapter 45: (Aubrey's POV)- Roller-skating
I was currently leaning against the skating rink, waiting for Xavier to finish tying my laces up which he
so kindly offered to do. Once he tied those up for me, I stepped into the rink with him close behind me.
We had just got here but the place was beginning to get empty, I guess people like to come here later
in the evening but because we have nothing to do, we decided on staying. We waited around at the
entrance and within five minutes the whole place was empty except for the one guy working the
counter.
I haven't skated in a long time and I loved it as a kid and even now, so I'm glad that I'm doing it now
with no one except Xavier watching me fall flat on my face and laugh at me. I skated over to one end of
the rink and turned around to see Xavier still in the same spot. NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
I'm not going to lie, I kind of forgot I was here with Xavier and just began doing my own thing. Skating
around, taking laps of the rink, spinning in circles, lifting one leg occasionally. It feels good to know I still
have a little of my hidden talent in me.
I was getting a little tired of skating around by myself and watching Xavier in one spot this entire time,
so I took it upon myself to make him skate. I skated over to his end and grabbed his hand, literally
dragging him along with me.
"We're here for roller skating, you can't just stand there," I spoke, glancing behind to see him smiling
while looking at our held hands. I shook my head before he skated until he was in front of me and
began skating backward, his body facing mine.
"I can't skate and do tricks like you, but what I can do is sit still and look pretty!" he pouted, letting my
hands go and placing them under his chin, exaggerating an overly girly expression.
"That's all you have to do. You had me at I can't skate," I laughed before kissing his cheek.
"Excuse me guys," the guy working approached us, "I have to leave for me break so..." he awkwardly
trailed off.
"We'll head out." I nodded before he smiled and left. We skated out of the rink and Xavier took off his
skates before untying mine and take them off for me.
We got out shoes back and then left. "Now where are we heading?" I asked as I got onto the bike,
pulling my dress down a bit.
"Ice cream?" he asked while turning slightly to where he could see me from the corner of his eye.
"Yes!" I squealed in excitement. He chuckled before beginning to ride away. We got there in roughly
five minutes before I got off and shook my head a little, throwing my hair that managed to escape my
ponytail out of my face.
We walked hand in hand and ordered before taking out seats in a booth. "Hello, besties!" I turned my
head in the direction of the voice to see Vi and Ace approaching us and Vi sliding into the seat beside
me while Ace sat beside Xavier.
"I spy with my little eye you two little lovebirds are on a little date. Monitor?" Ace spoke up before
turning to Xavier.
"That thing comes off too, honey." Vi gave him a pointed look.
"I know it does, honey. I'm just worried about my little boyfriend here." Ace hugged Xavier's arm as
Xavier gave him a weird look.
"You'd do that to me? I'm wounded." I feigned hurt while looking into Xavier's eyes.
"Never babe, bro get off." Xavier chuckled while pulling his arm out of Ace's grip.
"Ouch! I feel so loved." Ace smiled at him sarcastically. "So, how'd you two kiss and make up?" Ace
questioned.
"He confessed his undying love for me. You were there, tell us about it!" I stated, resting my arms on
the table, leaning forward. Ace laughed before Violet cut in.
"You, pretty boy, better not break my best friend's heart. She better not be crying cause of you." Violet
narrowed her eyes down to slits at Xavier.
"Over my dead body." he looked straight into my eyes while answering her before our ice creams
arrived.
"Cookies n' cream, chocolate, strawberry, and mint chocolate for the lovely couples." the owner of the
parlor, Samantha handed all of us our ice creams, I guess Ace and Vi asked for theirs to be sent here
once they saw us.
She announced our orders with delight but then turned to us in confusion as to who gets what since
she wasn't the one taking our orders.
"Samantha," I greeted her while laughing slightly before standing up and grabbing all the ice creams
before handing them the ones they ordered. Except for Xavier's I took his too. I ordered cookies n'
cream, Parker ordered chocolate and I know Vi is a weirdo who likes mint chocolate chip.
Xavier reached to take his ice cream but I smacked his hand away. "Mine!" I hissed. He looked at me in
shock before taking it away.
"Mine!" he argued. I pouted before huffing out in frustration. Maybe I should've just taken chocolate, I
was craving it. Why did I order cookies n' cream? "I want chocolate though," he whined while pouting.
"Fine, I'll trade." he sighed in defeat, as a grin stretched on my face. I get the chocolate ;) he took a
spoonful out of cookies n' cream before shrugging and saying it's really good. We sat there till we
finished and we all talked on and on and on.
Xavier excused him to go take a phone call that left me with the couple. "So," Ace began. "You've got
my best friend whipped. Don't do what you did ever again please, it killed him to see you with Peter
even though we all knew there was nothing there." he didn't say it rudely, he was extremely nice about
it.
"And it killed her to see him with Julie." Violet already sounded like she was getting riled up.
"He didn't do anything with her, not after meeting Aubrey." Ace began talking like I wasn't there and I
had a feeling they've had this conversation before. "And she didn't do anything with Peter, not after
meeting Xavier." Violet started getting angrier.
"They went on a date together, Violet!" Ace began raising his voice too. Oh god.
"He brought her over and up to his room, Ace!" Violet spat back. "Behind Aubrey's back!" she
countered.
"They didn't do anything, Violet," I spoke quietly, trying to calm her down.
She huffed, "Neither did you and Peter, this is bullshit, Aubrey!" she shouted. Oh no... god, send help,
please.
"I kissed his cheek, Vi," I admitted. It's true, and while I wish I didn't, I did and there's nothing I can do
about it.
"I'm sure she didn't hesitate to try and do more and did kiss his cheek," Violet mumbled under her
breath with attitude.
"He wouldn't have let her! He loves her!" Ace cut in.
"Oh," she scoffed. "And where exactly did that love go when Julie came over and he let her in?" she
argued.
"The same place that hers did when Peter and she were out on the porch!" Ace yelled. We tell our best
friends too much. I turned to see Xavier coming back in and ushered him over.
"Do not talk about my best friend that way!" Violet screamed. Xavier's eyes widened at the scene.
"Then don't talk shit about mine either!" Ace reasoned. Xavier and I sighed in defeat.
We have no choice but to let them both yell it out, there's no other way. I slid under the table, avoiding
the weird looks Xavier gave me before sliding out from under and huffing as I stood beside him.
I put my arms around his waist and leaned on him letting out a sigh. "We're best friends with
psychopaths. They're fighting over us." I explained as he wrapped his arm around me.
"She loved him, Ace! But he hurt her and she had to put her walls up!" Violet screamed. People were
leaving the parlor at this point.
"She hurt him too, just because he didn't say it and make any pity moves as payback to show it doesn't
mean he wasn't hurt!" Ace shouted.
"I'm sorry," I whispered before looking up at Xavier. "I didn't know I hurt you," I whispered.
"I'm sorry too." he paused. "Because I knew I hurt you." he kissed the top of my head.
We tried cutting in and saying we're happy but were greeted with, "Shut up!" from both in sync.
"They're so in love," Xavier stated.
They really were. They just have to realize it.
I guess it's finally time for me to play cupid.
