Chapter 55
Chapter 55
Miranda was over the moon. This little girl was as lovable as Penelope. It’s a pity Penelope already took her son. Otherwise, he would definitely love such a kind–hearted girl.
Meanwhile, in the VIP ward, the nurse who was supposed to care for Miranda was freaking out.
“What’s up?” Lucian hurried over as soon as he got the call
The nurse tried to explain, scared stiff of his reaction, “I just went to get some stuff for Miranda. When I came back, she was gone. I’ve been searching for a while now and still can’t find her…”
Lucian’s face turned ashen. He left only one sentence behind, “Don’t bother coming in tomorrow.”
He then headed for the elevator, ordering his bodyguard, “Find her, now!”
But before he could get far, the elevator door suddenly opened, and his mother walked out, laughing with a woman.
Lucian stared coldly at Allison’s face, and she froze when she saw him.
Miranda had just told her that her son wasn’t around, and that’s why Allison dared to go back.
Before she could recover from her shock, Lucian had already approached them, “Mom, where have you been?”
Miranda knew her son was pissed, “I just went out for some fresh air, why did they call you back?”
From the moment they walked in, Lucian’s gaze hadn’t left Allison
Feeling uneasy under his stare, Allison hurriedly said, “Michelle, since you’re back in your room, I should get going. Bye.”
“Hold on.” Miranda grabbed her wrist, smiling. Thank you for helping me today and for bringing me back.”
Then she turned to Lucian, “Could you see this young lady out? And thank her for me.”
Lucian looked at Allison, smiling slightly, “Sure.”
Allison didn’t want Miranda to notice anything odd. Luckily, Lucian acted like he didn’t know her at all.
As soon as they left the hospital, she blurted, “Mr. Lindberg. I’m leaving right away…”
But before she could finish, he had a vice–like grip on her wrist.
Next thing she knew, Lucian was shoving her into a black Maybach.
Allison frowned, trying to open the car door, only to find it locked.
Lucian was smoking a cigarette, his eyes deep and cold, “Allison, didn’t you say you’d never show up in front of me again?”
Allison clenched her fists, “This was unexpected. I came to the hospital to get medicine and bumped into Miranda…”
“Unexpected?” His voice was husky from the smoke, dripping with sarcasm RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
“The first time I went to the Flanagan family, you ‘accidentally‘ spilled coffee on me. Was that a coincidence? You planned to drug me, sneaking into my room during Willowbrook College’s anniversary. Was that a coincidence? You’ve been skipping class a lot this past year, but you always
rush over when I’m teaching. Was that also a coincidence? Allison, I went to Penelope’s birthday party, and you fell down in front of my car. Do you expect me to believe that’s a coincidence?” His eyes narrowed, anger and mockery intertwined, “And now, you’re telling me it’s a coincidence you’re in my mother’s hospital room?”
Allison was stumped.
A faint blush covered her face, “I don’t care if you believe me or not, this really was unexpected…”
