Chapter 58
Chapter 58
Ashley’s a total live wire. She and Allison are in charge of a couple of booths. Ashley already got Allison up to speed on the job in just a few hours. On a side note, Allison also got an earful of juicy gossip she was all ears for
“You mentioned the boss here, what’s he like? Is he some big shot?”
Ashley’s eyes grew wider, making her round face even cuter. The boss here is a total mystery; he never shows his face. He must be something, running a club like this in Northfield His connections must be off the charts.
“Oh
Allison just nodded, not really giving a hoot.
Meanwhile, the elevator doors opened on the sixth floor.
Two strapping men stepped out.
James turned to Lucian, sounding unsure. “So, should I make the call?”
“Sure thing. Lucian responded before stepping into booth number 606.
James shrugged and dialed a number. “Aidan, we’ve got a welcome party for you today. Lucian and I are already here. Wouldn’t it be quite a snub if you didn’t show?”
A gravelly voice came over the phone, “Then I guess you’ll have to wait a bit, you know I’m not exactly fleet of foot”
James said, “Do you need a lift?”
“No need.”
With that, Aidan hung up.
James sighed, same old Aidan. He then went into the booth.
After tidying up booth 602, Allison was about to take a breather.
As she walked past the elevator, the doors suddenly opened.
Inside, a man in a wheelchair slowly rolled out. Allison instantly put down the tray in her hands and, following her duty as a server, she asked respectfully. “Sir, do you need assistance?”
Aidan glanced at her, his brow furrowing slightly, “You push the wheelchair.”
As Allison pushed his wheelchair, she asked, “Sir, which booth are you headed to…”
*606.”
Allison pushed the wheelchair, taking him to booth 606. C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
Inside the booth.
James crossed his legs, “Do you think Aidan suddenly coming back has anything to do with problems in our UK division?”
With his eyes closed, Lucian replied nonchalantly, “I just got back from the UK a few days ago; his return must be on Carter’s orders.”
James took a swig of his drink, recalling recent events; he then asked, “Did you ever find out who drugged you when you first came back to Northfield? Was it one of George Lindberg’s men?”
Lucian casually crossed his legs He picked up a cigarette and a lighter from the coffee table, and the blue flame flickered for a few seconds before slowly going out. The cigarette’s tip was now lit, and plumes of white smoke slowly spread, almost as if it were about to envelop him.
He took a couple of drags. “He’s very cautious, I have no evidence. Even if I did, I wouldn’t give it to Carter.”
James knew full well that the one thing Carter detested most was infighting within the family.
And George had nailed that fact down pat.
There was a knock at the door
Then, the door opened from the outside
The sound of a wheelchair scraping against the floor was heard.
A server pushing a wheelchair walked in, Aidan was dressed in a black tracksuit and a cap, half his face shrouded in the cap’s shadow, he looked rather solemn
James looked at the woman in the server’s uniform, a bit surprised, “Oh, it’s you”
Allison looked up
Her eyes locked with a pair of icy cold ones, and her heart skipped a beat.
Lucian
Her feet felt like they were rooted to the spot.
Allison subconsciously gripped the handles of the wheelchair tightly.
