The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée

Taking matters into my own hands

Roman’s POV

I inwardly groaned as I squeezed my eyes open.

I groaned again when I realized that my head still throbbed with an excruciating headache.

I steered my gaze sideways and immense anger siphoned through my veins, when I set my eyes on the bane of my existence.

The obsessive leech who had caused Sofie and I so much problems in the short span of two months.

I wondered how she managed to enter the hospital despite the fact that I had already instructed the hospital’s director not to allow her in.

I guessed it was time for me to withdraw my investment in the hospital, since they couldn’t even protect one of their major shareholders.

As I stared at her, my ire intensified and I suddenly had the urge to commit murder.

Before my logical reasoning could gain control of my senses, I snapped the cannula off my wrist and stormed toward Lana.

She gasped as I yanked her off the chair and slammed her against the hard wall.

I wrapped my hands around her throat as I glared murderously at her.

The desire to commit murder intensified within me the more her wicked eyes stared back at me.

She choked out a cough as she unsuccessfully tried to ease my grip on her throat.

As her eyes turned watery with tears, I tightened my grip on her throat.

“You are a fucking bitch and I will kill you today.” I hollered, squeezing her head against the wall.

She helplessly thrashed in my hold as she coughed uncontrollably. “P-Please let me go. What has come over you today?”

“My lost memories have come over me, you fucking jezebel incarnate.” I gritted out, digging my thumb into her Adam’s apple which made her gasp for breath.

I watched in a mixture of manic satisfaction and thrill as her face reddened, before gradually becoming deathly pallor.

I wouldn’t be satisfied until I watched life leave her eyes.

Her smacks on my hands stopped as she sputtered. “I-I should have killed you that day. I should have made sure you had stopped breathing before leaving that place. I should have buried you with my own damn hands.”

“Yes. You should have.” I agreed. “But since you didn’t, I will make sure to kill you today, Lana. I will make sure you stop breathing before I let you go. You fucking tried to ruin my life. Both you and that old bastard you call your dad!”

“H-He’s not my dad. I-I-”

“I don’t care about your psychopathic family tree nor do I care about your damn family affairs.” I cut her short as she panted.

“I will murder you, and then go to jail to murder your father before killing myself. And then, we will reunite in hell and I’ll murder the both of you again.” I seethed furiously.

I wasn’t thinking at all but at that moment, I had thrown my logical train of thoughts out of the window.

I was hellbent on killing Lana.

She nodded fervently as she huffed out a laugh. “G-Good, do that. At least you will reunite with me in hell, and we will become demons together.”

I pressed tighter on her Adam’s apple, emanating a dry cough from her. “You think this is a joke, don’t you?”

“I-I don’t care. I-I’d rather die by your hands, and have you convicted with murder, so that Sofie will never end up with you.”

Right.

Sofie. I had to think of both Sofie and our child.

I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if Sofie hated me, and left my life.

My life had no meaning without her in it.

But at the same time, I badly wanted to punish Lana.

A knock on the door suddenly came and in a twinkle of an eye, five armed cops, accompanied by two men who I had now recalled were the private investigators I hired before losing my memory, strolled in.

“Get away from her, President Giovanni. We will take care of everything.” One of the cops said, as another cop tentatively moved toward me.

I snapped out of it and released her, just in time for the cop to hook a pair of handcuffs around her wrists as he read her the Miranda rights.

“How?” I asked the private investigators. “How did you finally manage to get evidence?”

“Alexander Guilon testified against her. He also gave us a USB flash drive containing a video clip of Lana Hernandez, Sofie Diaz and you in the abandoned building. There’s also a voice recording of Lana telling him about all her plans.” One of them revealed.

“T-That fucking coward couldn’t even protect his own daughter.” Lana wheezed, glaring at the investigator.

I just shook my head as I stared at her.

I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that I had willingly dated her in the past.

I wondered what I must have been thinking back then, to have fallen into her trap.

“This isn’t the end, Roman. We will never end. I will be back to make you mine. I will never allow you to get back together with that gold digger. I w-”

I had finally had enough of her rants.

“Take her away.” I motioned to the cops, who nodded before dragging her out of the room.

“I won’t rest until you become mine, Romano Giovanni!” That was the last utterance she yelled before one of the private investigators slammed the door in her face.

“Thank you so much for your efforts.” I said as I shook hands with the private investigators.

“No need to thank us, sir.” They bowed. “We were just doing our jobs.”

“You deserve all my appreciation because you all did a splendid job.” I responded, to which they grinned.

“Thanks for your kind words, sir. We will be on our way now.” The taller of the two said.

“Have a nice trip.” I supplied, before they left.

Moments later, Nathan sauntered in with a gift bag.

“I figured you may want to head over to Miss Sofie’s place.” He said, before I could question him.

“Thank you.” I clapped his shoulder as I collected the bag before trekking to the bathroom.

I smiled to myself, as water from the showerhead drizzled down my body.

I couldn’t wait to be reunited with Sofie and our unborn child.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
