Chapter 184
Chapter 184
It appeared as though the temperature around them had dropped to the freezing point for a time. Beatrice was pleased by Ivy’s silence because it indicated that her words had been heard. Beatrice raised her brows gently and couldn’t stop herself from smiling. The bay’s reflection flickered with the light. “Even without Brad, you have a plethora of options, whereas I have only Brad. Please, Ms. Morgan, take pity on me and return Brad to me.” Ivy raised an eyebrow and cast a contemptuous devilish grin at Beatrice. She cocked her brow. Her gaze shifted slightly as if she wished to agitate Beatrice. “I do have several options, and Brad is one of them. I’m curious about why you didn’t consider the consequences of stealing his money.” “I was powerless!” Beatrice’s teeth gnashed. “Oh?” Ivy inquired slowly. “You were forced to steal your boyfriend’s money to spend it on other men?” Beatrice felt embarrassed when her heinous past was mentioned. Beatrice had simply chosen the wrong man; why should she suffer the consequences? “Even if I do make a mistake, I can still speak with Brad and ask for forgiveness.” “Forgive you?” Two gentlemen made their way down the spiral staircase. That would be Brad and Vince. Brad’s face was glum and icy. His eyes were piercing as he dangerously narrowed them to glare at Beatrice. “I’m gracious enough to refrain from calling the cops. You owe me over $300,000, yet you dare to ask for forgiveness?” When Beatrice saw Brad, she was clearly embarrassed. Can an apology be made? And when she heard Ivy laugh, she looked at her with annoyance. “What are you laughing at, Ms. Morgan? I have no intention of interfering with your relationship. I just want to express my regrets to Brad. I hope you have not misunderstood me. Allow me no influence over your relationship.” ‘Wow, take a look at this two-faced scumbag!’ Ivy considered. Ivy locked her gaze on Brad, who possessed such a grim and murderous expression in his eyes.
She pursed her lips and winked at Brad before turning her gaze to Beatrice. “You have no control over our relationship, but you have control over my mood. Today is a special day, but you had to come and cause a stir. Consider this a warning in that case. I will throw you into the sea if you dare to say another word.” Ivy said that final sentence casually, but it had a profound effect. Ivy was not teasing her to scare her. She truly would. The cold wind rippled the water’s surface. It appeared to be a little unsettling. Beatrice regarded Ivy suspiciously and raised her eyes to Brad, who had no intention of assisting her. He simply looked at her mockingly and condescendingly. She had grossly exaggerated her self- worth. She licked her lower lip and looked a little depressed as she locked her gaze on Brad. “I…” Brad hurriedly descended the stairs and looked at Ivy apologetically. “Leave this to me, Ms. Morgan. Proceed inside. Allow no one to see this joke of a person.” Ivy arched her brow. ‘All right, I’m not going to deal with her.’ She gave a faint smile. “All right, then I’ll hand this over to you.” Beatrice was so vexed by the tacit understanding and familiarity between those two who didn’t care about her that she clenched her fists unconsciously. Brad took a large stride over. As he grabbed Beatrice’s arm and dragged her toward the deck, he exuded an imposing and cold aura. He pressed his waist of Beatrice against the railing. Below them lay a vast, dark sea. Although there were no large waves, the water threatened to consume one’s life. They were brushed aside by the icy wind. Beatrice felt fearful all of a sudden. As her voice trembled, she clutched the railing with a death grip. “Brad, what are you up to?!!” Brad was enveloped in a pall of darkness and a piercing chill. He continued to push her downward. He scoffed. “Beatrice, I’ll present you with two options. You can either vanish from my sight permanently or... I’m going to hurl you down from here.”
For the first time, Beatrice detected such overt hatred in his cold tone of voice. She could feel the chill infiltrating her bones. She panicked and raised her eyes. They were a long way from the shore, and Ivy’s bodyguards were following them. Even if Beatrice were thrown from the deck, she would not be rescued. She would simply drown, with no one noticing. She immediately felt regret. Ivy and Brad were unconvinced by these childish antics. Brad maintained his grip. Throwing Beatrice over the railing would take no more than ten seconds. He was simply waiting for her to make a decision. Would he be so bold? He may not have previously dared to throw someone off the board. He was no ordinary person once his identity as BC Corporation’s sole heir was revealed. Additionally, Beatrice understood from her association with Walter’s circle that nothing was impossible with money and power. As a result, this may not be a problem for Brad. The cold wind pelted her face as her heart pounded furiously. Her blood felt cold as panic and fear infiltrated her mind. She was terrified. “So?” His voice came from the depths of hell. This was not the Brad she had known previously. Beatrice’s eyes filled with tears as she clenched the railing and gritted her teeth. “I’m going with the first one! I’m leaving immediately!” Beatrice saw ruthlessness and murderous intent in Brad’s eyes at that moment. He possessed an unapproachable arrogance, and she was unwilling to risk the repercussions. Beatrice resisted. “You’re really in love with Ivy, aren’t you?” she said, biting her lower lip and trembling. Brad’s eyes darkened as he fixed her with a cold, stern look. Beatrice was fearful, depressed, and desolate. She chuckled nervously. “She just stated that you are one of several options available to her. It’s obvious that she doesn’t adore you.” Brad released his grip on Beatrice and glared coldly at her. He cast a sidelong glance at the bodyguard. “Is there a boat available to transport this woman?” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
After a brief pause, the bodyguard agreed. A speedboat was waiting for the guests. Given Brad’s request, it would be fulfilled. Vince noticed Brad’s face and considered what Beatrice had just said. He resisted the words that were on the tip of his tongue. ‘This woman is untrustworthy! Brad will not be solely concerned with appearances.’ Vince considered. Brad and Vince entered the banquet hall sequentially. Ivy was informed of every movement on the deck in minute detail by the butler. Ivy gave a knowing nod and then turned around as if nothing had happened. She sat and listened to Leo and Marco converse and laugh. She turned her head and noticed Wyatt and Duke conversing. She could make out a faint echo of her name. Ivy walked over with a frown. “For my birthday, I’m planning a week-long party on Sorrell Island. Think of it as a vacation,” Duke advised. “I have a lot going on.” Wyatt’s tone was icy. “How are you keeping yourself busy? You are wheelchair-bound and unable to meet with clients. All you need is the time!” Duke was uncertain. “Ivy won’t want to go,” Wyatt said solemnly.
