Sam shook his head one more time at the dress Chloe was putting on..

He sighed already getting bored of seeing dresses that made no sense..

“You look like a peacock in that!” he seconded in irritation..

Chloe’s eyes rounded, she made an attempt to move to him but was stopped by the lady assisting her with her dress..

“Ma’am.. please, we have more dresses for you to try on”

Sam breathed a sigh of relief when she stomped away with the lady tailing behind her..

Sam’s phone vibrated, he stared at it for a while before tucking it back into his pocket, it vibrated again and this time he brought it out and raised it to his ear..

He walked out of the female’s section and away from Chloe’s hearing reach..

“What is it? haven’t I told you that I’m not coming back home?”

Bryan’s movement halted, he stared at the back of the person a few metres away from him who was on a phone call..

“Sam where are you? come check this dress out! I think it’s perfect!”

His brows collided, that was Chloe’s voice, he watched Sam tuck the phone into his pocket and hurried back in.

He took a step forward to go right after Sam but he figured out it won’t be good for him if he were to see Chloe..

The evening set in casting it’s warm glow over the city..

A hall was unusually bubbling, the entrance was graced by different fleet of cars as everyone stepped out in their glamorous outfit ready to witness the big day..

The big day which came as a shocker, no one had expected that a day like this would come where Bryan Alexander the biggest Playboy in town would settle down with one woman..

The grand hall was transformed into a luxurious celebration space adorned with intricate crystal chandeliers, lavish floral arrangements, and opulent drapery in a soft champagne hue.

The walls were adorned with gold-leaf accents and exquisite artwork, while the floors were covered in a plush, ivory-colored carpet.

Aside from this unique arrangements were the guests all dressed to nines..

A slow tune played in the background as everyone chattered among themselves in pairs and in groups happily..

Among these happy people was Bryan who was really annoyed, next to him stood Lora who was dressed in the gold colored gown she picked today at the mall..

Her hand was tucked into his bent arm as they glided and moved around the hall exchanging pleasantries with the guests..

“Today is a happy occasion isn’t it?” Lora chirmed happily trying to keep her pace slow even though Bryan was quite faster than her..

“This day will get over quite fast if I don’t hear your voice.. so please, keep your mouth shut” He growled out in a low tone..

Lora’s face scrunched a bit, as soon as she perceived the faint smell of alcohol coming from him, the party had just begun and he already drank?

“Bryan you shouldn’t be drinking.. today is an important day for us, what if you get drunk?”

Bryan snorted, he kept a frozen smile as the guests flocked around them but deep down he was boiling in anger..

“You’re mistaken.. this day isn’t about us, it’s about you alone” He gritted and flashed a smile at the man who walked up to them..

Lora threw her gaze elsewhere, she didn’t care if he was behaving coldly to her, what matters was that she was about to get engaged to him…

A gasp ensued from the ladies around her who were murmuring among themselves..

“She’s really beautiful”

Her smile grew wider, no doubt! today was her day, she was bound to be the most beautiful lady in this hall tonight..

“I wonder who she is.. I’ve never seen her before! she’s even more pretty than the lady of the occasion”

The smile originally on Lora’s face froze, she turned around to the ladies behind her who were looking at the entrance of the hall, she trailed their line of sight and a gasp escaped from from her lips..

Bryan gave a nod to the man before him before he left, he sighed in relief seeing Chad walking to him with a glass of red wine..

“Great! you made it” he murmured in sarcasm..

Chad chuckled and raised his glass to his lips when he spotted a familiar face coming into the hall…

“This is gonna be a really awkward night”

Bryan snorted, well yeah it was going to be a long night, he followed Chad’s line of sight and was dumbfounded…

Sam stared down at the lady next to him who was inching closer to his side, her grip around his arm tightened..

“At this rate you’ll become my second skin”

Chloe shot him a look, this was his and Arnold’s fault! they wanted her to prove to herself that she really didn’t habour any feelings for Bryan and she foolishly agreed..

And to top it at all.. everyone was looking their way..

“Everyone is staring at me, and I’m not comfortable at all”

Chloe wore a long red satin gown with a low cut neck showing off a fair amount of her mounds, it had a side slit all the way to her thigh showing off her fair smooth legs..

Her feet was adorned with a silver stiletto adding to her height to make her look more presentable..

His gaze settled back on her face that was covered with a little makeup, her lips was painted red..

Bryan gulped…

“And there goes my date” She murmured sending cold glares to Sam who was mingling around with some ladies..

“I thought you said you wouldn’t come” Bryan snorted pulling her gaze back to him..

Chloe grabbed a glass of red wine from the tray of a waiter passing by..

“I changed my mind.. I wanted to witness this day and watch it happen right in front of me, you invited me personally, it’d be impolite if I don’t attend”

She raised the glass to her lips when she saw Lora approaching them in hurried steps, the latter flung her hand around Bryan’s arm possessively..

Lora flashed a fake smile at Chloe, the lady who took the spotlight from her..

“It’s good to see that you made it.. you’re about to witness our beautiful day.. please eat and drink as much as you like, you know opportunities like this doesn’t come up everyday” She sneered obviously mocking Chloe..

Luckily for Chloe, Sam came back to her side, he took her hand gently and placed it on his arm..

“Excuse us Mr Alexander”

Bryan’s jaw clenched as they left his presence, not only was he annoyed that Chloe came to witness this engagement but also because that dude came along with her as his date..

Lora patted his arm gently “Forget it Bryan.. it’s about time”

Bryan sneered and pulled away from her grip harshly..
