Chapter Eight: Elevator Ride
This couldn’t be a coincidence, right? I had heard the CEO had his own private elevator, so why would he settle for the general one?
Or was this just one big scheme concocted by the universe to screw me over?!
“Good day, sir,” Caspian broke the awkward silence with a nervous greeting, but the CEO didn’t spare him a glance; he was looking at me.
Oh, Lord, he’s looking at me!
We had already reached our departmental floor, so Caspian politely smiled at the cold man and hurried out of the elevator to make way for him.
I trailed behind Caspian, keeping my head as low as possible to avoid his lingering stare. But my efforts were thrown out the window when, at the last moment, he caught my wrist and pulled me back.
Caspian whipped his head toward us, his mouth open in shock, but it was already too late.
The doors closed, leaving me alone with him.
Again.
I held my breath as he whirled me around and pinned me against the wall in the next second. His grip on my hands tightened as he drew them high above my head, his heterochromatic eyes burning with an emotion that shook me to my bones.
Jealousy.
“What the hell was that?” he asked, his face merely inches away from mine. His voice was dangerously low, and it was obvious from his tone that he was visibly annoyed, but I was yet to understand why.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“G-Good morning, sir,” I stuttered, unable to look away; he was so close. It had been two weeks since I last saw him, but damn, he never failed to take my breath away. How can one man be so handsome?
Today he wore a sharply tailored black suit that accentuated his muscular frame, with a crisp white shirt unbuttoned at the top, giving him a dangerously seductive aura.
I was shamelessly ogling him, and I swallowed thickly when my eyes trailed to his crotch. I wet my lips subconsciously, and his gaze lowered to them for a moment before flickering back to my face.
“Did you like it?” he suddenly asked, and I snapped back to reality.
“Huh?” I blurted out, and he scoffed at me.
“Did you like kissing that guy?” he added, and I didn’t miss the spite with which he referred to Caspian. Did he already know that he was the one I ranked first on the list? Was that the reason he was so pissed?
I fell silent, my heart thumping loudly against my chest as I thought back to my kiss with Caspian. Caspian’s lips were soft, and he tasted of a sweet mix of strawberry and mint. It only lasted for a moment, but I couldn’t deny that I loved it.
“Yes,” I meekly answered, my voice coming out in a whisper.
I winced slightly as his grip on me tightened, his eyes darkening as he leaned in close.
“Wrong answer,” he growled, and my eyes widened as his lips slammed against mine.
An electrifying jolt shot through my veins as he thrust his tongue into my mouth, unwavering and impulsive. His tongue explored the corners of my mouth, leaving no room for me to catch my breath as he angled his head to deepen the kiss.
Unlike my kiss with Caspian, this was more rushed and ten times hotter. I felt butterflies with Caspian, but the CEO made me feel like I was under an open flame.
He tasted of black coffee and cinnamon, and I couldn’t hold back the moan that bubbled in my chest as he kissed me with a raw passion that made my knees weak.
Wetness pooled at my core, and I squeezed my legs together to ease the building sensation, but he was one step ahead of me. He parted my legs with his knee, and I pulled back from the kiss in a jolt to let out a sharp yelp.
I had worn a tight-fitting red dress that hugged my curves, and his knee pressed directly against my core, making me shiver with want as he increased the pressure.
“You really piss me off,” he rasped, his lips trailing to my neck. I let out a shaky breath as he continued to tease me with his knee, making me squirm against him as my whole body trembled. “I try to ignore it, but I can’t.”
“Won’t you take responsibility?” he whispered tentatively, his tongue sliding against the my skin. I shivered, catching a hint of a smirk on his lips before he abruptly pulled away.
My legs gave out on me, and I slid to the floor, my breathing shallow and heavy. I watched him turn on his heels as the elevator door opened on cue.
He left, without looking back, and my mouth parted in awe as his retreating figure disappeared along the grand hallway.
What the hell just happened?
