Chapter 216
"Oh, God. Yes. Just like that."
Thalassa gasped breathlessly, her fingers threading through Kris's hair as his tongue did wicked, wonderful things to her weeping core.
His teeth scraped, and his tongue stroked, lashed, and penetrated her repeatedly until she fell right off the edge, buckling her hips against his face as her orgasm tore through her.
While she was still recovering from the intense pleasure, Kris climbed back up her body, his lips traveling between the valley of her breasts and finally capturing her lips. She could taste herself on his tongue, and that only seemed to amplify the pleasure.
Grabbing her legs, Kris firmly wrapped them around his waist before sinking deep into her heat in one powerful stroke.
They gasped into each other's mouths before he began moving, proving his need for her with every kiss and every thrust.
Moments later, after they had caught their breaths from the intense pleasure, Thalassa kissed his chest and looked up at him.
"Do you really have to go?"
An amused smile stretched Kris's lips. "We've already talked about this, baby. Besides, it's not like I'll be home for longer. I'll be back in just a day."
"But I'm going to miss you." Thalassa admitted.
Kris's heart warmed, but his lips stretched with a teasing smile. "Are you going to miss me or my dick?" Thalassa glared at him. "Stop being vulgar."
Kris's eyes widened in mock disbelief. "Says the woman who wouldn't stop begging me to fuck her harder." Then he began imitating her voice. "Yes, Kris. Just like that... Harder. I need you deeper... Oh God."
"Stop!" Thalassa smacked him on the chest despite being unable to hide her smile as she made a show of getting out of bed.
Kris wrapped his arms around her and held her back, chuckling as he tenderly kissed her neck. "I'm also going to miss you, Lassa. Even though it's going to be just for a day."
He hesitated before adding. "I'll also take advantage of the trip to see Tessa."
He expected Thalassa to tense up or pull away from him. Instead, she turned to face him with a smile. "What is she like?"
She'd only seen pictures of Tessa online but had never seen her in person.
Pleased that she seemed genuinely curious, Kris smiled. "She's an angel. So sweet and caring about the feelings of everyone. Just as carefree as Alex. And of course she's beautiful, just like me."
Thalassa scoffed. "Trust you to take the opportunity to blow your own horn."
"So you do admit that I'm beautiful?" Kris cooed.
"Ugh, you're so arrogant."
Kris chuckled and took her head, bringing it to his lips to kiss her fingers before turning slightly serious. "I would really like you to meet Tessa one of these days."
His heart warmed even more when Thalassa smiled and answered, "I'd like that too."noveldrama
After touching down, Kris spoke to his lawyer over the phone, and they agreed to meet at the Baltimore police department.
Kris pulled into the parking lot of the station, cutting the engine. Stepped out of the car, he made his way toward the station entrance. He was ready to get this over with, to meet his lawyer and see what could be done about his mother's case.
As much as it hurt him, he wanted it all to be behind him so he could finally be happy with Thalassa and Alex.
As he approached, a figure caught his eye. A few feet away from the door, Karen's mother stood
awkwardly, clutching a bag in her hands. She seemed hesitant, her movements stiff, as though unsure if she should go in.
Curious, Kris walked up behind her. "Mrs. Blade? Are you alright?"
Rita flinched, startled by his voice. She turned quickly, eyes wide. "K-Kris..." she stammered. "Yes, I'm fine."
Kris smiled politely, though he couldn't help but notice the tension in her posture. "It's good to see you. Are you here to see my..." he cleared his throat. "...Linda?"
Rita shook her head quickly, her lips pressed tightly together, but she offered no further explanation. Her expression was distant, pensive. Kris frowned, concern creeping into his voice.
"Are you sure you're okay? You seem... tense."
Suddenly, without warning, Rita
thrust the small
holding into duffel bag she was
his arms. “Here,” she
said, her voice brittle, as though the weight of the words exhausted her. "This is the evidence of drug and human trafficking, which your mother was hiding."
Kris froze, staring at her in shock. He looked down at the bag in his hands, feeling its weight settle in his arms like a stone. His heart clenched painfully, knowing that whatever was in there could be what sent his mother to prison for life.
Before he could process her words fully, Rita turned sharply on her heel, making to leave. But Kris quickly reached out, grabbing her arm gently.
"Wait. Where did you find it?"
Rita pulled her arm from his grip, her eyes refusing to meet his. "It doesn't matter."
Kris stared at her for a moment. He didn't insist because he already had his suspicions that it was Karen who had done to protect his mother as usual since they were accomplices.
He exhaled, nodding. "Thank you for bringing it."
Rita gave him a short, almost mechanical nod before turning to walk away again. A few steps away, she paused, her shoulders sagging as the weight of the secret she was keeping weighed down on her.
She stood still for some seconds, recalling Karen's threat that she would hate her forever if she decided to tell Kris the truth.
Finally, she made a decision.
"Kris," she called out, her voice strained.
Kris was just steps away from the entrance, and he turned around. "Yes, Mrs. Blade?"
Rita approached him slowly, her eyes clouded with hesitation. "You were right. I... I'm not okay," she admitted, her voice shaking. "There's something I need to tell you."
Kris's frown deepened. "You can tell me. What's going on?"
Rita opened her mouth to speak, but a lump lodged in her throat. She swallowed hard, forcing it down. "What I'm about to tell you... it's going to be very painful for you, Kris. But I can't keep it to myself."
Kris's heart began to race. Something about her tone made him uneasy, and his mind quickly ran through possibilities. "Mrs. Blade... what is it?"
Rita finally met his gaze, and the sadness in her eyes made his stomach twist. "Kris...Tessa is not your daughter."
What do you think?
