The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 211

Chapter 211

After Janice opened the door, Kendra barrelled in like a wild animal being chased. As soon as she

stepped inside, she blurted out, "Mr. Evans, someone's trying to snatch our house away. What should

we do?" NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

Shelley and Cordelia were puzzled; the house Kendra was referring to must be the one Ronan had

given them.

When Olen saw Kendra, his recently steadied mood went haywire again. His lips were trembling

slightly. This woman was Shayla's daughter. He had seen her with his own eyes that year. After Shayla

killed her own husband, her daughter appeared and took her mother away. It was just a fleeting glance,

but he recognized her.

In Olen's mind, the horrific scene of that year replayed incessantly. Martin was drenched in blood, his

guts strewn about, his body chopped into countless pieces scattered around the community. Everyone

was terrified. At that time, Signature Estates had just been sold out almost overnight. Olen used the

money to buy land and start his business in full swing. While Shayla, holding a knife splattered with

fresh blood, was laughing like a demon.

Now Olen could only remember Shayla covered in blood, and he could no longer remember her face.

She killed her own husband and ruined Olen's future. Because of this murder, the high-end Signature

Estates became a haunted house. The housing prices plummeted, and overnight, all clients were

asking Olen for refunds.

The nightmare of the past haunted him and kept him awake at night. Every time he thought about it, he

felt his nerves tense. He sat on the sofa, trembling.

"Why are you coming to me if your house got confiscated?" Ronan asked Kendra, sitting on the sofa

with squinted eyes.

"Please, Mr. Evans, the house is yours, help us figure something out." Kendra was desperate, grabbing

Ronan's hand.

Ronan shrugged off Kendra's hand as if disgusted, pretending to know nothing, "How can I help you if

you don't explain what happened?"

Kendra knelt at Ronan's feet, unable to hold back her tears anymore, "Mr. Evans, Mr. Evans, ever since

Adrian got money, he's been gambling and lost all the money. Now the house is gone too, and they're

coming to take the house."

"Ah…" Shelley covered her chest upon hearing the news. She had been feeling uneasy recently,

always feeling that something was about to happen.

"Really? He's outrageous." Ronan said indifferently, "He's not considering your pregnant state."

"Mr. Evans, please, help him." Kendra broke down crying. She originally thought that with this house

and eight hundred thousand, Adrian could have a decent future no matter what, but...

"Mom, mom, please beg Mr. Evans." Kendra was surprised to see Shelley there too.

Hearing Kendra call Shelley mom, Olen's eyes turned red. Still saying she was not Shayla? Kendra just

said she’s Shayla's daughter.

Olen was already mentally disturbed, his eyes rimmed red.

"Mr. Evans, please help Adrian." Shelley said.

Cordelia kept her eyes fixed on Ronan. Even though this seemed unrelated to him, Cordelia had a

feeling something was off. Because there was a sense of schadenfreude in Ronan's eyes. She felt like

she didn't know Ronan anymore.

Olen was once again not in his right mind, shouting at Shelley, "You are Shayla. Don't harm me."

Shelley was fully occupied with Adrian's problem and couldn’t be bothered.

Cordelia had mentioned Olen's illness to Shelley before. She reasoned that if Olen had mental health

issues and he mistook Shelley for Shayla, it didn't matter much. After all, Shelley was also a widow,

perhaps around the same age as Shayla. So she didn't respond to Olen's words.

"She's not Shayla!" Ronan shouted at Olen.

"Mr. Evans." Kendra pleaded with Ronan.

"I can't help you with this." With one sentence, Ronan refused Kendra.

Kendra staggered away. Her child hadn't been born yet, and she had already lost everything.

Shelley worried that her presence would cause other problems because Olen kept mistaking her for

Shayla, and she worried so much about Adrian that she left as well.

She had never advocated for Ronan to give Adrian a lot of money. Moreover, Adrian gambled of his

own accord, it had nothing to do with Ronan, so she didn't expect Ronan's help.

"You can stay at my place for a while since your house has been taken away, okay?" She suggested to

Kendra after leaving the Evans family.

"No way." Kendra retorted. She had lived in Shelley's house before. How could she possibly live in that

cramped place?
