The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 218

Chapter 218

Ronan was on Cordelia.

Just as he was about to lose his temper, Cordelia grabbed a fruit knife from the bedside table.

The blade was pressed against Ronan's throat.

He stared at Cordelia with a complex look.

"Don't touch me!" Cordelia said, tears rolling down her face.

Whether Shelley was killed by Ronan or not, it was all related to him.

And he had the audacity to ask her to bear his child.

What a pipe dream.

They should be each other's enemies.

Ronan moved the knife away with one finger, "Do you think I'm having a good time?"

"You killed someone, of course you should feel bad! But it doesn't make up for my loss. Shelley."

Cordelia recalled when Shelley just woke up, she called her "mom" while laying on her lap, just for a

response. But now, the room was cold and lifeless.

Shelley was gone, and suddenly the world seemed emptier.

Shelley would never answer her again.

Tears poured down Cordelia's face. She cried herself to sleep.

Ronan held her all night as she cried.

The next day, she woke up with swollen eyes, noticing Ronan still in bed.

"Stop staring at me. I'm fine. Nothing's gonna happen." Cordelia said to Ronan.

Ronan gave her a once-over, wondering if she was telling the truth.

"You stay here, I'll be back soon after a quick trip to the office." He said.

After Ronan left, Cordelia cleaned and tidied up all the things that Shelley had used, neatly folding

Shelley's clothes and storing them in the closet.

Samantha's message came at noon:

[Cordelia, got a minute? I’d like to talk to you.]

Cordelia thought, there was nothing to stir up between her and Ronan now. Maybe Samantha just

wanted to check on her.

Cordelia: [Sure, I'm home.]

When Samantha arrived, she first stood in front of Shelley's portrait in silence.

"Cordelia, Shelley's departure was so sudden. We didn't see it coming. I messaged you but you never

replied." Samantha said.

Ronan had already deleted that message from Cordelia.

Cordelia continued mopping the floor like a robot.

"Do you find Shelley's death odd?" Samantha asked.

Cordelia paused with her mopping.

She knew it was strange. Even though Ronan admitted to it, he might have just said it out of anger.

After all, Cordelia had no proof.

"Do you want to see this?" Samantha took out her phone and opened her photo album.

"What is it?" Cordelia saw many people in the photo, and the environment looked chaotic.

"This is Adrian gambling in Macao, do you see him?" Samantha said, then pointed to the side, "Do you

see the person next to him?"

"What's the matter?" Cordelia was always on guard against Samantha.

"Let me show you a video." With that, she opened a video.

In the video, Ronan was throwing a tantrum at a project manager, even throwing things at his face.

"The same person?" Cordelia was confused. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

"Yes. Deanna once sent you this video, but you didn't watch it. This project manager is extremely loyal

to Ronan. He's a big shot in the gambling world. Adrian's house was lost to him. I guess, that house

has returned to Ronan's hands." Samantha explained, "So, actually, Ronan was the one playing

Adrian."

Both Samantha and Deanna knew that Shelley's death was no accident. Cordelia and Ronan were at

odds, so they revealed Adrian's affair to make Cordelia break.

"You just found out? I knew it a long time ago." Cordelia gave a faint smile, "Adrian was greedy, and

both Shelley and I were against it. Your news is old."

"Really?" Samantha scrutinized Cordelia's expression.

She obviously just found out. She just didn't want to show it in front of Samantha.

"Of course it's true." Cordelia answered confidently, "So it's better if you mind your own business."

"Cordelia." Samantha said angrily, "You are really ungrateful."

With that, Samantha left.
