Chapter 301
Chapter 301
Grant's car pulled up to Bistro Belle. Just as he and Ronan got out, a woman, brandishing a knife,

humiliated me at Millstone, now I'm gonna end you, you bastard!"
Crystal, looking like a woman with nothing to lose, ran straight towards Grant.
Grant's face paled in fear. This time, it was only him and Ronan, not even the driver was with them.
Moreover, his car was parked across the street, so it was hard for passers-by to notice the
confrontation happening on their side of the road.
"Crystal, you slut, what's gotten into you? You crazy bitch," Grant yelled at Crystal while hiding behind
Ronan. "Mr. Evans, call the police, call the police now!"
Ronan, being a tall man, managed to shield Grant completely. He had known that a day like this would
come. He had intended to talk to Grant about it today, advising him not to push people to their limits.
Crystal was already at the end of her rope, and adding insult to injury would lead to dire consequences.
But before he had a chance to talk to Grant, this happened.
Just as Ronan dialed 911, Crystal lunged at Grant with the knife. Grant dodged, and the knife ended up
in Ronan instead. Immediately, blood seeped from Ronan's wound.
Crystal was kicked off by Ronan, still holding the murder weapon in her hand.
The confrontation was so intense that it drew the attention of passers-by, who quickly intervened.
Grant hastily dialed the emergency number.
Deanna saw all of this from the second floor of the restaurant. She was worried about Ronan's injury,
but she also realized that this was a golden opportunity. She needed to relay this news to Cordelia
immediately.
She felt that since Cordelia couldn't get past her mother's accident and was always resenting Ronan, if
Ronan died, she might be relieved. And Ronan, knowing she was relieved, would give up on her; or
Cordelia might be devastated but not say it, keeping her emotions bottled up. Either way, Deanna
wanted to see it happen.
She hoped this incident would be the final straw for Cordelia. She didn't care if Cordelia got hurt, as
long as she, Deanna, had nothing to do with it.
As Deanna hurried down the stairs, she found a waitress and gave her Cordelia's phone number. "Tell
her that Ronan's been stabbed. He might be in critical condition," Deanna told the waitress as she
rushed downstairs.
By now, a crowd had gathered across the street, and an ambulance had arrived. The waitress promptly
informed Cordelia of the situation.
"Hello, this Bistro Belle. Mr. Evans was attacked outside our restaurant. It looks serious," the waitress
said, glancing out the window. She couldn't see clearly, but there were many people gathered.
Cordelia was busy working on the other end of the line. Hearing this, she was stunned for a moment,
then asked, "Attacked?"
"Yes, it seems a woman stabbed Mr. Evans."
Cordelia froze, feeling weak all over. Her mind was in a whirl, and she couldn't utter a word. She didn't
hear anything around her, either.
Stabbed?
"Do you mean someone had a knife..." Cordelia couldn't believe it. Who would dare to do that to him?
"That's what I mean."
Cordelia suddenly went silent.
"Hello? Are you there? Hello, are you there?"
Cordelia wanted to speak, but no words came out.
The waitress on the other end of the line had no choice but to hang up.
