The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 304

Chapter 304

Outside the hospital room, Cordelia couldn't bring herself to step inside, afraid of the sight that was

waiting for her.

"Just go in. Don't wait any longer," Milana urged, her concern for Cordelia apparent.

Cordelia's complexion turned even paler.

Milana knocked on the door, and Grant said, "Come in."

Hearing Grant's voice nearly knocked Cordelia off her feet. It wasn't him. It couldn't be him...

Her legs gave way.

"Let's go in." Milana supported Cordelia, guiding her into the room.

The moment the door swung open, Cordelia saw Ronan sitting on the hospital bed, his back leaned

against the headboard, and his arm wrapped in a bandage. He wasn't comatose, and he certainly

wasn't dead.

Cordelia instantly relaxed, sinking onto Ronan's bed. Her eyes were wide in shock.

She saw Deanna, but at that moment, Cordelia was too relieved to pay any attention to her.

"Your injuries are minor," Cordelia murmured, her words were barely audible, but they seemed

heartfelt. It was this statement that made her feel like a weight had been lifted off her chest.

"What, you wish I'd gotten hurt worse?" Ronan retorted.

Deanna thought to herself, “Cordelia really had no tact. Her words had clearly irked Ronan. It was

indeed a good decision to notify her.”

Cordelia tried to move Ronan's blanket to check his injuries, but Grant intervened. "Mrs. Evans, Mr.

Evans just hurt his arm. The bitch responsible is already in custody. Don't worry."

Cordelia glanced at Ronan's bandaged arm, unable to determine the severity of the wound. "Is it

deep?" She asked him.

"Deep."

"Does it hurt?" She asked, worry creeping into her voice.

"Hurts."

Ronan looked at Cordelia as he spoke, with a teasing glint in his eyes. Then, he leaned in to whisper in

Cordelia's ear, "I learned from the best!"

Only then did Cordelia realize the sexual implication of the words "deep" and "hurts." It was a stark

contrast to the tension she had felt earlier.

"Are you going home later? Or staying here for the night?" Cordelia asked.

"Going home."

Cordelia nodded slowly. "Tristi can give us a lift home later." Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

"Weren't you just telling Mr. Grant that you had something to tell me?" Ronan suddenly asked.

"He..." Cordelia moved closer to Ronan. "He didn't tell you?"

"No. What is it?"

"I'll tell you when we get home." Cordelia figured it was best to keep things quiet with Deanna around.

She noticed Ronan's right arm was all wrapped up, making it difficult to bend. She asked him, "How will

you eat?"

"You'll feed me, of course."

Deanna was fuming at the sight of their mutual affection, and she was still clueless about what Cordelia

had wanted to tell Ronan earlier. "Oh, I was discussing a new drama with some producers just now. I

rushed over here as soon as I heard about Ronan's injury. Since he's okay now, I'll take my leave," she

announced.

With that, she turned on her heel and walked out. What on earth was Samantha thinking when she

gave her this advice? She now suspected that Samantha could be a spy sent by Cordelia.

Grant also left.

Milana said, "Cordelia, since Mr. Evans is fine, I'll be going. Aren't you guys going home later?"

"We'll drop you off at the office first," Ronan offered.

"Sure, I'll wait for you guys downstairs," Milana said, before leaving the room.

Ronan didn't press Cordelia about what she wanted to say earlier. He had the doctor check his arm

again before preparing to leave.

"Mr. Evans, you'll need to change this bandage every two days, and come back for a check-up in a few

days. I'll prescribe you some extra bandages," the doctor advised.

Ronan turned to look at Cordelia. "Can you do it?"

Ronan was implying that he was entrusting her with the task of changing his bandages. Did he forget

she was pregnant?

But considering he was injured, Cordelia decided to agree, "I can."
