37. Occisor, part 7.
SELENE REVEALS HER PURPOSE
“You need to talk to her.”
“She won’t accept my wishes.”
“And you won’t accept hers.”
“But a pup…”
“You and Sasha are not like the others, raise your cubs to be like you.”
“I… I don’t know… It’s only been ten years since I was born. I don’t feel ready to be a father.”
Mary smiles. Occisor says that because he was raised among humans. Alphas couples have as a priority the generation of offspring for the creation of the pack, but Occisor doesn’t think like that and observing the human world, human parents act differently from lycanthropic parents; and Occisor had only examples of parents in the human world.
“Talk to her about it, be gentle and tell her you’re both still young, that you want to mature a little more and have them when the world is less dangerous. I know that if you use the right words she will understand and love you for showing such concern for the well-being of your future cubs.”
Occisor pondered Mary’s words, and felt good. That was it. He just needed more time and then both he and his mate could have pups and continue to be happy.
“I’ll talk to her as soon as we get there!” Occisor says confidently.
She’ll understand and give herself to me again, he thinks with a smile. His body misses the warmth of his mate and the possibility of them mating again makes him euphoric.
Mary and Occisor hasten their steps, and as soon as the full moon touches the highest point they finally pass through the second floor door at the base.
Occisor smells intruders and is alarmed, Mary smells the air, recognizing the scent.
“They are not enemies,” she says, making Occisor look confused.
“Who?”
“You’re finally here!” Angèle says, calling to herself the attention of the family of supernatural predators.
“Who are you?” Occisor asks.
“We have not been introduced before, my name is Angèle Benoit, heir to the kingdom of witches. These are my sisters, Lorraine and Catherine Benoit,” she bows and is followed by her sisters.” It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
“Hm,” is Occisor’s only answer. He feels uncomfortable with the witches’ presence.
Without saying anything else, he leaves the room and walks to his bedroom, anxiety makes him walk fast. He needs to talk to his destined.
” Pretty polite, huh?” Lorraine says, rolling her eyes as she watches him disappear down the hall.
“Sorry, we don’t usually have visitors,” Mary says, smiling at them.
“Don’t bother with that, the lack of manners is ours. We came without warning,” Angèle says, cordially as always.
“What are you doing here?” Mary asks, leaving her bag near the couch.
“Well…”
“Mary, where’s Margaret?” Occisor rushes back into the room.
“She went on a mission in another country, why? Is everything okay? Did anything happen?”
“Sasha’s gone! I need to…”
“That’s why we came here,” Catherine interrupts Occisor’.
The young man looks at her angrily, it didn’t take a second for his mind to process the information and conclude that they were there because they wanted to blackmail him. Without thinking twice, he lunges at the third princess. His big hand squeezed her neck, hanging her from the floor.
“Where is she?” He asks in a deep voice, leaving the princess frightened and breathless.
“Let her go, you dog!” The second princess places a dagger near his neck.
The glow of the silver blade does not intimidate the dreaded hunter at all. In fractions of seconds, he throws the third princess on the wall and chokeholds the second one, causing her to release the dagger. Lorraine elbows Occisor’s ribs, making him loosen her neck a little. When she steps with her heel on his foot, a voice draws their attention:
“Let her go!” Mary commands.
“They kidnapped Sasha!” he says loudly, squeezing Lorraine’s neck again, who bitterly regrets not having finished what she started.
“We did no such thing, let my sister go now!” Angèle commands, but all she gets from the man is a look of contempt and defiance. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you…”
“What are you doing…?”
“Flatus vocem meam audiunt, et levabunt vos de terra mea,” she conjures with a firm voice.
All the windows on the second floor open in a loud thud, the winds hiss violently leaving Occisor alarmed. Without giving him time to process what was happening, he feels his body being pulled from the ground and against his will his arms open. The feeling of being crushed by great pressure makes him let out a grunt of pain.
“Let him go!” Mary approaches Angèle, preparing to attack her.
“Disseminabunt,” as soon as the order is given, the winds drop Occisor, who falls on his back to the ground.
Mary runs toward the youngest as he coughs up as much air as his nostrils can.
“Are you alright?” Mary asks, running a hand over Occisor’s back.
“Understand, hunter,” Angèle calls attention to herself, “We didn’t come here to hurt you.”
“You…”
“I saw when your destined was abducted,” Catherine interrupts Occisor.
“Spill!”
“You’re not the boss of her!” Lorraine bursts with rage. “You’re rude! I think the kidnapping of your destined is a liberation for her.”
“Don’t play with fire, you…”
“We came here to bargain, hunter,” Angèle interrupts him.
Occisor growls in frustration, he hates being interrupted.
“What do you want?”
“We want an alliance with the Lycans,” she says softly.
“You’re bargaining with the wrong person!” He growls angrily.
“No, I’m bargaining with the future supreme alpha,” she says with a smile of conviction.
“You’re delusional,” he gets up off the floor, massaging his neck.
“I want you to become the supreme alpha and end the war between wolves and witches.”
“And why would I do that? What I want more is for you to blow yourselves up!”
“We’re on the verge of extinction. I want to live peacefully with the other races. I want our children to have a future! ”
“Oh, wow! What a beautiful dream, little princess!” He says mockingly. “I have no interest in it!”
Angèle starts to lose her temper. “Do you know what will happen tomorrow? Your mate will carry another male’s cub, and then she will be killed in the cruelest way.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You have an hour to think, we’ll be back in an hour!”
“Aperiam in arce effi cimur, et pavet Haemonias,” Lorraine recites to her jewelry and in three seconds a portal opens over the princesses’ heads, taking them back home.
“Shit!”Occisor punches the wall.
A feeling of incompetence, of having no other option, of being at the mercy of someone overtakes him. It’s the worst feeling for Occisor. With cloudy thoughts, he walks to the base terrace. The icy wind messes up his hair and he sits down, his gaze falling on the moon. He feels like he needs help for the first time. His eyes fill with water, he hugs his knees.
What happened? I’m not a crybaby. I don’t know what’s happening to her. Is she being mistreated? Why didn’t she contacted me by thought? Where’s my love? His heart squeezes like never before. The being he swore to kill when he first saw her is now making him distressed at the possibility of never seeing her again.
The anguish in his heart reached Selene, who smiled. Her plan is now in phase three.
The full moon begins to shine, the glow catches the attention of the young man who looks at it curiously. The silver light emanating from the moon intensifies, making Occisor cover his eyes with his forearm. The light dim after three seconds, he returns to look at the sky but the moon is no longer there.
“What?”
“Rodolf,” he hears his name being called by a soft voice.
His eyes widened, the moon goddess descended from the sky and took on a deadly form. Her long silver hair catches Occisor’s eye, he’s never seen anyone like that.
“Who? Who are you?” he questions getting up.
“You know who I am. I’m your creator.”
“What do you mean?” he looks at her suspiciously.
“Have you forgotten what Mary told you about me?”
Occisor searches his mind, it takes a few seconds for him to remember the conversation he had as a pup about the truth in his mother’s death.
“It can’t be…” he says astonished, but soon the anger begins to grow in his mind. “If you are the goddess… It’s your fault I was born wrong! It’s your fault my mother was killed!”
“Don’t blame me for the actions of sinful wolves! You weren’t born wrong, I’m the one who makes the rules!”
That made Occisor angrier, if she’s the one who makes the rules, why did she make so many people suffer?
“Why did you do all of that?”
“The wolves have fallen in the way of misfortune, drifting further and further away from me. I choose you. ”
The last sentence makes him look at her, curious.
“What does this mean?”
“I chose you to save my children, my inheritance, Rodolfo.”
“I’m no savior!”
“Yes, you are, you and Sasha. You’re my chosen ones. I gave birth to a female from a womb that was only made to birth male. I gave birth to a human baby grown in a lycanthropic vent. I choose you two.”
“You put us through all that pain…”
“No! I never want the suffering of any of my children.”
“Why, then?”
“Because if I didn’t do anything, the god father would.”
“What do you mean?” With each word released through Selene’s mouth, Occisor became more and more confused.
“The werewolves have become evil, the strongest hurt the weakest, they are all my children. And on top of that, they hunt and enslave humans, trying to exterminate the other races created by other gods. My father wanted to exterminate them, but I interceded for them. I contacted the genuine couple but they wouldn’t listen. I had to act, and I chose to create you and Sasha.”
Occisor shuts up, he remembers when he told Mary that he would like the races to live in harmony, but he never imagined they were buying fights beyond earthly beings.
Selene approaches Occisor and hugs him, the warmth emanating from the goddess’s arms making Occisor cry.
“I love all of you. You are my dear son, who has my greatest affection, you make me happy. You’re the one who looks most like the father of all the wolves. And I know that he is also saddened by the path that our children followed. Please, my son, get them back on the right track.”
The soft, gentle voice touched deep into Occisor’s heart, who squeezed her even tighter in his arms.
“And my mother? Is she…?”
“She’s with me. Look at the stars, darling.”
Occisor sniffs.
“What… What do I do now?” he asks, wiping his tears with the back of his hand.
“Accept the alliance with the witches. Become the supreme, the rest I’ll reveal later.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Occisor wanted to know what the rest would be, but he let it go. His mate was more important and time was running out.
