Sitting on the couch, Harvey watched Madison eat. The way she chewed slowly and carefully made him feel heartbroken. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

"No need to thank me. I'm your brother." Harvey had learned from Jordan that Tanya had visited Madison at the hospital earlier and knew exactly what she had brought with her. Judging from Jordan's tone, Harvey could tell Josephine deliberately had Jordan told him about it

The Salle family was basically hinting that if the Locke family couldn't be bothered to look after Madison properly, they would step in and do a better job

After hesitating for a moment, Harvey turned to Madison to ask, "If you don't want to stay in the Locke residence, feel free to let me know. I'll get you a place to stay elsewhere." Harvey reassured, "I'm not trying to kick you out. I'm just worried you won't feel at home there."

Harvey had stayed at the Locke residence for decades. He was well aware of how spoiled Rebecca was. Besides their parents, the other siblings pampered her without any boundaries Ethan and Jason were hardly at home these days. But when they eventually moved back, Madison was definitely going to get picked on.

Harvey was

was quite tied up. So, he couldn't protect Madison at every moment.

He had brought the issue up with William and Tanya, but nothing had changed. As for the younger siblings, he knew there was no getting through to them.

Seeing Harvey's worried look, Madison smiled and shook her head. "It's fine Staying at home is pretty nice."

Things were honestly great. The house was much larger than the place she had rented before. On top of that, she had maids preparing the meals every day, and she didn't have to worry about laundry. Everything was taken care of for her.

When Madison chuckled and spoke her mind, Harvey's expression became even more troubled. He looked at her with nothing but worry in his eyes.

He stood up and gently ruffled her hair. "You can count on me. I'll look after you."

Madison responded, "I genuinely feel that staying at the Locke residence is better than my previous situation."

With the same look, Harvey forced a smile. "I know."

Madison was speechless. She believed Harvey didn't get her at all.

After Madison finished her med Harvey took the lunch box and lett.

Apparently, Harvey must have spoken to the family after he returned to the Locke residence, as the next day, William, Tanya, and Rebecca came when Madison was discharged. With red eyes, Rebecca handed a bouquet to Madison. "Congratulations on being discharged, and I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked Mom to lock you up, but 1 didn't mean it. I didn't know you had a stomach problem." Tears welled up in her eyes as she blinked. "Can you forgive me?"

Tanya was about to say something as she opened her mouth. But after recalling what Harvey had said yesterday, she swallowed her words.

Madison subtly glanced at the faces of the Locke family members before taking the bouquet. She then flashed a grin and said, "You didn't do it on purpose, so of course, I forgive

you.

But if Rebecca did it deliberately, then there was no reas

reason to forgive her.

Rebecca just stayed quiet

William came forward and said, "Alright. We've talked it through. Time to go home."

Upon returning to the Locke residence, Madison noticed the third floor had gone through a drastic change. Her room had been renovated, and the dressing room was packed with clothes and jewelry. The entire floor looked brand new.

Tanya noticed the surprise in Madison's eyes. She felt a mix of happiness and sadness. "Harvey said you're part of the Locke family, so you deserved the best Rest easy. The room was renovated with eco- friendly materials. Even though it's newly done, it won't harm your health.

"We've also sorted out the other rooms. There's a study, a guest room, and a few empty rooms. You can decide how you want to decorate them. They're all yours." William also added, "Tanya and I made some mistakes, and we'd like to apologize. From now on, we promise to treat you and Rebecca equally."

Madison could tell William was sincere. It stirred something in her. In her past life, the Locke family had only ever despised her until the day she died. "Thanks a lot"
