The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 1982

Yannick's confident wager actually left the crowd doubtful-could he really have dirt on Zamri Hospital?

He was previously the head coroner there, after all.

As such, even the indignant crowd who were staunchly on Winter's side earlier were suddenly frowning and skeptical.

"However!"

Yannick continued just then, turning toward Frank and Winter, "What if I produce evidence proving Zamri Hospital has been selling fake pills? What would you do about it?"

"We will accept any punishment as the law dictates," Frank replied, folding his arms before his chest equally confidently.

Winter was hanging her head too, being perfectly aware that the fake pills Yannick had planted in the storeroom yesterday had been moved.

In this wager, Yannick could only lose, which was why Winter was holding back laughter.

However, because she was not supposed to show it too much, she hung her head so that no one could see it.

In the eyes of the armed officers and the crowd of patients, however, it was a clear sign of guilt.

Even Yannick was a little surprised-was it possible that the brat had actually kept fake pills aside from the ones he planted? Why else would she look so guilty?

"That's enough."

Fredo finally strode up, clearing his throat and grinning. "Commissioner Kramer has received a tip that Zamri Hospital has been storing and selling fake pills. That is an outrage against the good health of Zamri citizens that must be punished severely!"

Then, turning toward Yannick, he continued the script that they had prepared earlier. "As you were the one who tipped the commissioner, tell me— where did they store their fake pills?"

"In the storeroom at the back!" Yannick pointed at the direction where it was, smirking as if he had already won.

Fredo nodded and chuckled. "Is that so? In that case, please escort our witness to inspect that storeroom, Captain Daffey." "Yes, sir."

A tall man with a poker face emerged from among the armed officers.

Frank did a double take when he saw the man, as he recognized him-he was Podrick Daffey, who was with the group of armed men that Droitner Inc. had sent to arrest him before!

The pieces started falling into place for Frank, too.

Since Podrick was a police captain, that meant he was working under Geon Kramer, the commissioner.

That meant that Geon had already been involved back when Huub Droitner framed Frank and had him sent to Blackwater.

After all, Droitner Inc. did not have the influence to do that on their own.

And putting that into consideration, it turned out that Frank already had a bone to pick with Geon for a while now.

On the other hand, Yannick and Fredo traded smirks, seeing Frank freezing up with a look of uncertainty on his face.

It seemed to them that Frank's

earlier confidence was just a bluff he was panicking as soon they demanded an inspection!

"Wait!"

Seeing that Yannick was ready to lead a group to inspect the storeroom, Frank suddenly raised a hand to stop them.

He then calmly said, "If you insist on searching the storeroom, I can agree to it. However, if no fake pills are found, the commissioner must
