Chapter 2001
"Guards, arrest that man!"
Stanley waved his hand.
At his orders, the guards encircled Frank, who narrowed his eyes.
If Stanley took him into custody, he was never getting out, as countless crimes would be pinned on him.
As such, should Frank just kill him instead?Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
No, that was an impractical idea too-everyone in this room already believed that Frank had murdered the Zamri commissioner, and he would be committing an actual crime if he killed Stanley too.
Naturally, given the way Stanley was provoking Frank, he was not at all concerned that Frank would attack him.
In all likelihood, he had a hand to play-something that would both stop Frank's attempt while further strengthening the case against Frank. As such, his best option was...
Scowling, Frank took a couple of steps backward to the window. "Everyone, I didn't kill the commissioner. Give me time, and I'll get you the real culprit! So long!"
With another couple steps backward, Frank then turned, stepping on the shoulders of the guards encircling him and vaulting out of the window. Even as he disappeared in an instant, Stanley bellowed, "Fire!"
The guards all promptly fired in the direction where Frank ran, but nothing came out of it.
"Hmph..."
Seeing that Frank was gone, Podrick beckoned at the guards to give chase and even informed the Zamri garrison.
On the other hand, Stanley smirked. "Run! Let's see how far you can run!"
Not long afterwards, at the Martial Alliance headquarters in Morhen...
"What?! How could this happen?!"
Silverbell had just returned from patrol when she saw the new bounties on the board, with Frank listed among them.
After reading the details, her face
fell. "Assassinating the Zamri
with
r and fleeing s current location own?
"How could Frank do this? Why would he murder a commissioner? There has to be a misunderstanding!"
Silverbell promptly whipped out her phone to dial Frank's number, but he was not answering even after she tried a few times.
That left her even more anxious-the
ne
Martial Tournament was taking place soon, and Frank was caught in murder at this time and even fled the
scene of the crime?
Silverbell knew that this was not Frank's style, but there was no faking the details on the bounty.
Both local authorities and Morhen would have screened through everything!
"Five hundred million..."
Silverbell gasped when she saw the value of the bounty.
She was certainly concerned, as it was a very lucrative bounty even for Martial Alliance standards. "No... I have to help!"
Silverbell bit her lip, deciding right then that she would leave Morhen and head over to Zamri to find Frank.
However, she had just started outside when a white-haired elder stopped him.
"What's the rush, Lady Silverbell?" He smiled, but anyone could sense the power beneath his kind appearance. "Elder Fango."
Silverbell bowed her head and admitted, "I'm going to search for a wanted criminal."
"Hmm..."
Elder Fango thought about it and
chuckled, "Dear Silverbell-you're the chief of the Martial Alliance. Just leave such menial work to others The Martial Tournament is at hand, and many martial artists are coming to Morhen from across the country, with foreign envoys attending as well."
