Frank chuckled. "Preparing medicine. What else?"

Soon, a retailer arrived and passed Frank the herbs he picked.

Frank quickly turned and left, while Sadie hurried after him. "I think I know you even less now, master."

Frank chuckled. "Would I still be necessary if you understood everything I do?"

Sadie smiled in wry amusement-that must be true, as Frank was virtually a divine being whom even Sally York feared. Would a mere mortal like Sadie really understand his ways?

However, when the hunchback saw the medicine Frank was holding, she snapped coolly, "Are you kidding me?"

Frank shrugged. "Trying won't kill you, and there's nothing potentially lethal here like arsenic. Don't you agree?"

Seeing that the hunchback remained skeptical, Sadie pressed, "You can trust me even if you don't believe my mentor, right? You know me don't you think that my complete faith in him is already testament to his character?"

The hunchback thought about it and nodded-Sadie was infamous for being headstrong, and that she would defer entirely to Frank and even become his apprentice was unexpected. The kid must have some potential and had no reason to lie, so she eventually allowed both Frank and Sadie inside.

Frank headed straight to the kitchen, putting everything into a pot with Sadie's help and cooking it over a slow fire.

Sadie frowned. "Are these herbs enough? It really doesn't look like how they do it on TV..."

Frank flicked her on the forehead. "Quit watching pointless shows, though I'll admit that you still need specialized cauldrons for the finest herbs. This one, however, doesn't need that.

"Also, I will give it to you straight-Draconian traditional medicine doesn't need specialized tools at all. Families in older times only had clay pots, so what do you think they had to use?"

Sadie nodded, but only half understood.

"Now we'll just keep it cooking for another half an hour," Frank then told her, "and then it's ready for consumption."

With that, Frank turned to leave, with Sadie hurrying after him.

Arriving at the living room, they found that the hunchback had already brewed them tea while she sat curled up in a corner, holding a heat pack in silence.

"Don't worry," Sadie assured her again. "My mentor is great. He'll definitely cure you."

The hunchback chuckled. "Really? Why does he feel like a chef to me?"

Sadie sighed in exasperation, but Frank was her mentor, so she kept defending him. "Please understand that this is simply goodwill. Not everyone would be afforded his unconditional help."

The hunchback snorted but otherwise remained silent.

Sadie turned toward Frank. "Don't worry about her, master. She's always like that."

Frank nodded in silence, but it was understandable.

No one could accept being reduced to such a hideous state, especially someone who was beautiful before.

And being holed up in a dim, damp place like this? The fact that she had not lost her mind yet was proof of her mental fortitude.

"What's her name?" Frank eventually asked.

"She never told me, but her codename is Sky Mystic Two!"

Frank stared at Sadie sideways. "Okay...?"

"Haha!" Sadie taughed. "Sally never had good taste in things, but she insists on sticking with her crap anyway. That's why she would use the prefix of Sky, Earth, Mystic, and Yellow, each followed by a number.

"But there's a limit to how many times it can be used, so she simply moved on to double prefixes. That's how you get Sky Mystic, which is sort of okay... Though I'm sure anyone who gets repeated prefixes like Sky Sky or Earth Earth would have something to say."

Frank smiled in wry amusement, as he did not expect someone as smart as Sally to have her eccentricities.

drew a dagger from her hip. "Someone claimed that they could heal me recently, but they failed, though I honestly can't be sure f they're regretting their arrogance in helf right now."
