Ashleigh’s POV

“I’m Lady Stheno Enya from Lunaria… and I’m the one who’s sitting in the second seat of Elite 10.”

I was silent at what Stheno said… She was also one of the Elite 10 and she was sitting in the second seat. No wonder why she acted mysteriously when I first arrive here.

“I’m glad I have another student in the Sun Magic Class.” Professor Evanor said cheerfully.

“Professor, I would like you to teach her the basic magics about being Sun Attuned, she still has a lot to learn about her magic.” Stheno explained to Professor.

“I will talk to her first while you are practicing our previous lessons last year.” said Professor Evanor to Stheno.

“All right, Professor.” Stheno answered politely and immediately did what Professor asked her to do.

Professor walked over to her chair and sat down. She immediately motioned for me to sit in the chair she was facing and I immediately did.

When I sat down, I immediately asked her the things I wanted to know.

“Professor.” I called her.

She immediately stared at me and nodded while smiling.

I really want to know the things that are bothering my mind. Why do I have this magic and why am I still?

“Professor, how do I know why I have this kind of magic?” I asked her.

She leaned back in her seat and seemed to be thinking.

“Maybe because of your parents? Maybe you inherited it from them.” said Professor.

It made me think, that I still do not know much about my family. Maybe they have ancestors who have magics and maybe that is why I also had this.

I remember when I was a child, every time mommy and I were left at home she always read me some fairytale stories.

Flashback

“Mommy! Storytime! Storytime!” I said happily.

“Alright, Alright… come here sweetie, and I will read you your favorite story.” mommy said happily. “Now come on, sit in my lap, my sweet little angel.” she added and I immediately sat on her lap.

“Once upon a time, there was a princess who was born very beautiful, she had blond hair. When the first birthday of the princess came. All the people attended the princess’ birthday celebration. Everyone was having fun. The fairies started giving blessings. Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather are the names of the three fairies. Flora first gave a blessing, she gave the princess a Gift of Beauty, the next one was Fauna, she gave the little princess a Gift of the song… Merryweather would have started giving blessings when suddenly an evil fairy Maleficent came, Maleficent curses the child to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into a deep sleep on her 16th birthday. ” mommy said while I was listening to her.

“WAAAH! Poor princess.” I said sadly while hugging mommy.

Mommy smiled and resumed reading.

“After Maleficent left, Merryweather altered Maleficent’s curse by replacing the tragic death intended for Aurora with a deep sleep that could be woken by True Love’s Kiss.” said mommy and squeezed my cheek.

Mommy continued to tell the story until I fell asleep in her arms.

End of Flashback

I don’t remember mommy telling me about their ancestors, except that she always told me fairytale stories. Maybe I should call mommy when I have a vacant time. And maybe I could get some information about the origin of my powers.

“Ashleigh…”

“Ashleigh…”

I suddenly came back to reality when I heard Professor and Stheno calling me.

“Ash! What’s the matter?” Stheno asked worriedly.

“You’ve been quiet there since I told you about the possibilities of the origin of your magic.” Professor said.

I sighed and smiled.

“I’m sorry, I just remembered something hahaha.” forced happily I said.

“We’ve been worried about you, we thought you had a problem because you hadn’t answered when Professor spoke to you. “Stheno explained.

“I’m sorry… what were you saying again? Professor?” I asked while looking at her.

“Would you like me to teach you out the most basic magics as a Sun Attuned?” Professor asked.

“Yes, Professor.” I answered.

Professor and I have already started practicing basic magics, I thought there is only 2 uses a sun can do.

Firstly it can only dissolve ice, secondly, it can burn leaves or wood when you use a magnifying glass. But I can’t believe, that there is more a lot a Sun can do.

We continued the lesson until the time was up.

We said goodbye to Professor Evanor before we left. We met our friends in the cafeteria, almost the other students staring in our direction. Maybe because those with me are the students here at Magica Academy who have a reputation here at this Academy.

“Ignore them, Ash, they are just jealous because you are with us.” Shreya whispered to me.

“W-Why did I become your friend anyway? Why did you choose me? I am just a weird newbie and also there is a lot that I do not know about the magic.” I said while looking down.

“Ash, we are not looking at a person’s outward status, but in being a good person of him or her and having a pure heart.” Ember explained.

“My sister is right, even if you are not that familiar with the magic and supernaturals here, we can see you in goodness in everything you show us every day.” Lizzy agreed with her sister.

“And one more thing, we don’t care if you’re just new here … as long as you don’t pay attention to them, they are just jealous. The important thing is that you have friends like us who will defend you here.” smiling Elgin said.

“Thanks guys.” I said to them and smiled at them all.

Suddenly the students looked at the door … And there I saw the two people that I did not want to see.

“They’re here!” two women shouted.

“Prince Calux!”

They shouted as those two entered the cafeteria. I even noticed Calux secretly glancing at me as they walked toward the cashier.

“Hey! What are you staring at there?” Cadmus asked me.

I blinked my eyes and shook my head.

“Nothing.” I said and back to eating.

In fact, there are strange foods here, there are foods that tell the truth, there are those that look like eyes staring at you, and there are also foods that tell your fate. Oh isn’t that weird? it is strange and different from what I usually ate in my world.

I chose to eat Fate of Oats. It’s just like these Breakfast oats that I always eat in my world.

“Try to swallow a little there, that food will suddenly speak to your mind and there you will know your destiny.” smiling Lizzy said.

I still wonder if I will try to taste it a little or if I will just put up with my hunger. Its milk is color blue and looks like “Frooty Loops” cereal like in my world… except for the color of its milk.

I swallowed hard, I could do nothing but try this food. sigh…

I tasted my food a bit, I stopped to taste. The taste is not disgusting, it is also not that sweet and even more, so it is not tasty. It’s just like Froot Loops.

“Delicious!” I said as I grabbed my cheeks.

“Told ya!” said Elgin.

But I wondered why this food did not even speak to my mind.

“Why is that —”

I did not finish what I was going to say when suddenly I heard someone speak in my mind.

As Professor Radagast said, so did the Fate of Oats.
