The Love that Never Really Dies (Sasha and Sebastian)

Chapter 1713

Chapter 1713

“Sebby, are you mad?”

“No.”

Surprisingly, Sebastian denied that he got mad just now after she grabbed him.

Sasha was confused. “Then... What's up with you just now?”

“No point trying to talk him out of it anymore. I was born in November as well. He was at war when my mother gave birth to me. He never knew that my mother was still alive after the war. It wasn't until my mother passed away that he found out about it. It really isn't necessary...”

He trailed off, as if he was talking to himself rather than Sasha.

Sasha was stunned.

It isn't necessary? Is he finally going to let go of his grudges?

Sasha stared at his side profile and noticed he no longer looked as cold as before. She couldn't help but feel a hint of sadness for him.

Time had smoothened all his sharp edges. He was more forgiving toward the people around him, including his parents.

Sasha and Sebastian made their way home soon after.

The next day, Ian, Matteo, and Devin were gathered at Oceanic Estate since Christmas was just around the corner.

Vivian was the only one missing as she stayed behind at the hospital to take care of Kurt, who was still unconscious.

“Vivi, is Kurt going to regain consciousness before Christmas?”

Nina stayed backed at the hospital to look after Kurt as well.

Vivian kept quiet.

She filled a basin of hot water, wrapped his hands with some hot towels, and massaged it.

The heater was on since it was a cold day that day. However, after his body collapsed, his hand and face almost always felt cold to the touch. It was as if the blood that gave him life never flowed through his limbs.

Will he regain consciousness? Of course not.

Grayson had checked Kurt up when he first arrived at the hospital. According to him, it would take Kurt more than a year and a half to recover.

Vivian lowered her eyes and warmed Kurt's hand with the hot towel. She then picked up the nail clipper and trimmed his long fingernails.

Nina remained silent.

She lowered her head. After a short while, she turned around and left. Vivian and Kurt were the only ones left in the room.

“Hey there, nice to meet you, Nina. Did you come out to play?”

“Yes.”

Nina stared at the nurse who had patted her head and nodded obediently.

She wasn't as bad-tempered anymore and would keep her temper in check when she met people who were kind to her, as her mother told her to.

Nina made her way downstairs.

She was about to head out to the garden when she suddenly saw a smart-looking young man dressed in an olive green shirt walking toward her.

“Oh? Nina, what are you doing here? Where's Vivi?”

It was Matteo who had just returned home.

He headed over to the hospital to look for Vivian after he heard that she was over at the hospital.

Nina stared at him with her beautiful upturned eyes. She wasn't very fond of Matteo because she saw him involved in a fight with Kurt back at the palace.

It was a fierce battle and Kurt was injured in the process.

Moreover, he was always trying to find fault whenever he visits the palace.

Hence, Nina despised him.

“What's wrong, Nina? That is such a menacing glare you've got there.”

Matteo approached Nina with a big grin on his face and ruffled her hair.

“Don't touch me!”

Nina immediately dodged. She wasn't very happy about it.

Matteo was shocked.

“Tsk tsk. No wonder you two are siblings. You're just as defensive as your brother back then.”

Nina kept quiet and glared at him angrily.

It wasn't until the dashing young man grabbed the back of her collar and lifted her as if he was an eagle catching his prey.

“Ah! Let go of me! Let me go!”

“Shut up! I'll throw you to the ground if you don't.” Nina's screams didn't faze him at all.

After all, he was used to dealing with Jaena's antics already and knew how to navigate his way around the little monster Jadeson.

Matteo and Nina returned to the ward.

Vivian, who had been busying herself with Kurt that afternoon, brightened up when she saw Matteo. She put everything aside and stood up with a bright smile.

Matteo nodded.

He then tossed Nina onto the other hospital bed in the ward.

Nina was speechless.

“What happened to her?” asked Vivian.

Matteo shrugged. “Oh, it's nothing. I saw her running around the hallways downstairs, so I brought her back. Right, Mom mentioned that you've been staying in the hospital. Aren't you going home for dinner?”

He turned to Vivian and asked the moment he laid eyes on her.

It was his first time seeing Vivian look so haggard. She had lost the light in her eyes after spending some time at the hospital.

Matteo's heart ached for her.q
