Chapter 37 Is He Human?

Chapter 37 Is He Human?

"Elixir of Strength really worked!"

After changing clothes, Conrad walked to the fitness area and went straight to the ergograph, which

was similar to the machine that detected the strength in Fun City. When people put on their boxing

gloves and hit the sponge column hard, the machine could measure the strength.

Conrad saw that the machine was scrolling the data of the previous users. The number one was a man

whose pseudonym was ABC. His strength was 560kg. This was almost the level of a professional

boxer. If he hit the right position, he could even knock a person unconscious or even kill him directly.

Conrad estimated his own strength, thinking that he could be regarded as a winner as long as he broke

the record of ABC. It was a great progress for him to reach the level of a boxer from an ordinary man.

Conrad put on boxing gloves and took a deep breath. Then, with all his strength, he hit the sponge

pillar heavily with his right fist.

"Boom!"

There was a heavy thudding noise against the sponge pillar. After the hit, the pillar with the metal

support inside was slightly deformed and the sponge cracked. Conrad's punch was terrifyingly

powerful.

Conrad was shocked to find that there were error codes on the display screen of this machine. No Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

matter how he patted it, the machine couldn't be restored. It crashed because of his punch.

Conrad knew he had broken the machine. He took off the gloves calmly, called the attendant over,

telling him that the machine didn't work well and should be overhauled.

Facing with the broken sponge column, the attendant was lost in thought.

The ergograph was broken. But Conrad still wanted to know his true strength. He thought of that he

could use various fitness equipment to test it.

Conrad came to the bench press apparatus. Because each weight was adjustable, it could be used to

test strength.

In this gym, because it was expensive, it provided good service. There were fitness trainers standing

there every short distance. Conrad called a male trainer and asked him some questions.

"What is the average person's bench press weight?"

The trainer said, "The weight of those who haven't practiced is about 40-50kg. After a period of

exercise, they can reach 80-100kg. 120kg is considered excellent. The weight of man of unusual

strength is more than 150kg. For professional athletes, they can reach 190kg or even higher."

"What about the world record?" Conrad asked. He felt he could challenge it.

The trainer smiled, "The world record is 480kg. But this is not comparable. Those who reach it are

professionals. They usually use drugs to enhance muscle strength. It is powerful if an ordinary man can

push more than 100kg."

"OK. Then get me 150kg first. I'll try." Conrad said and lay down on the mat. Above his head was the

barbell.

"150kg? Are you sure?" the trainer asked.

The trainer had seen too many customers who thought too highly of themselves and asked for a very

heavy barbell. But they couldn't lift it with all their strength and even suffered from a pulled muscle. So,

the trainer didn't want Conrad to lift such a heavy barbell.

"Yes." Conrad said firmly.

He had taken the Elixir of Strength. If he couldn't even lift a 150kg barbell, he would really bring shame

on the ancient people and the extinct Night Orchid.

The trainer had no choice but to put a 150kg weight on the barbell and then placed it on the rack above

Conrad.

Conrad lay on the mat, took a deep breath, held the barbell and lifted it.

He didn't seem to feel any weight. The barbell was lifted easily.

"This is too light. Change it to 200kg." Conrad said after putting it down.

"Really? Sir, you may get hurt if I put a 200kg barbell." The trainer warned in a serious tone.

"It's too light. Look."

Conrad quickly lifted the 150kg barbell and just struggled a bit.

"Be careful. You will easily hurt your wrist like this."

The trainer was also startled. Conrad did not look muscular. But he was stronger than most people who

come to the gym.

"Alright. I will change a 200kg one. But I need to be there to help you. If you cannot hold on, I will hold

the barbell."

The trainer added the barbell. He couldn't even lift a 200kg barbell and many professional athletes

couldn't lift it. If someone could lift 200kg, he could be considered extremely strong.

Conrad clenched his fist, thinking it was a challenge. Then, he grabbed the barbell and lifted it.

Although the barbell was much heavier, not as light as the one before, Conrad lifted it easily and even

did ten sets of standard bench press.

"My God, you can really lift it! Are you an athlete?" this time, even the trainer was surprised and

shouted. His voice attracted others' attention.

"Cool! He looks thin. I didn't expect him to be so strong."

"Is he human? I can only lift a 50kg barbell. He can lift four times the weight of me. I think he can knock

me out with one punch."

The people around were talking, all marveling at Conrad's strength.

Conrad, however, was not satisfied. The 200kg barbell was not enough for him. So, he said to the

trainer, "Give me a 300kg barbell."
