Chapter 0203
Chapter 0203
ASHANTI’S POV.
Alpha Reagan accompanies me to the hallway that leads to Rhea's cell. I have tried to get him off my back time and again, but he's adamant to stay behind. He wants to go with me to the cell and hear what I have to talk about with Rhea.
“You know what you're about to do is invasion of privacy, don't you?”
“Fine, Ashanti.” He finally surrenders and stops in his tracks. I smile. “Since you don't want me to be there, I'll go back down. Meet me when you're done.”
“I'll do just that. Thank you.” He turns on his heels and heads for the staircase. I keep walking forward, looking at the cells on my left and right, trying to locate Rhea's and I finally find it somewhere in the middle of the long, empty, and nearly dark hallway. It's so empty, that the sound of my boots clicking off the floor echoes all over the place as I walk.
I stop in front of her cell and the moment she sees me, she lets out an annoyed sigh. Barely an hour ago, I was seated just like her in another cell all because of her.
“What are you doing here?”
She doesn't sound or look impressed by my presence. I don't expect her to be.
“Are you here to mock me because I've finally found myself in a tight spot for once?” She asks rudely. I take a step closer to the cell door that's locked.
“You're not supposed to be here alone.” I say, calmly. She looks at me with creased brows.
“What do you mean by that?”
“You didn't plan this all by yourself. You weren't the one who masterminded the whole plan. It was someone else and you simply followed her orders, but now, you're being labeled the mastermind.” NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Calmly, carefully, she rises to her feet and walks to the cell door.
“How about you stop beating around the bush and say what you want to say already?”
“Why should I say what you already know?” My brows are raised as I pose that question. She chuckles lightly, playfully rolling her tongue in my mouth. I can see the irritation swimming in her eyes. She hates that I'm here to see her in this shameful state.
“If you're here to mock me for being in this situation, just go ahead and do so?”
“You think I'm that shallow?”
“I think you're a nobody.”
“Well, that's no news to me. I've been hearing those words from you since we were little.”
“Ashanti, what the hell do you want from me? Why did you come here to see me?” She's angry. Very angry and if given the chance, she would give me a very dirty smack in my face.
“Your partner in crime abandoned you when you needed her the most. Just like the other girls, you are going to take the fall for her. I'm sure you must be surprised. You never imagined she'd play you dirty like this. True or false?”
“What do you care?” She asks bitterly. I scoff. I pip my head to the side and strangely study her face. Her eyes are burning with anger and indignation, her nostrils are flaring. Her temples are ticking from overstimulation. She looks like she's going to explode like a dynamite if I keep talking to her.
“What I keep asking myself is, how did you not know she was just using you? Most people could see right through Alina's intentions towards you, but you were too blind to see anything and you've never been the one to listen to advice. You think no one is as smart as you are. Now, look at where your know-it-all attitude has landed you.”
“At least I got to make life miserable for you even if it was for a short time.” She tries to smile but fails woefully. She’s trying to keep a confident look. Trying to pretend as though my words aren't getting to her, but I can see right past that. She's scared as fuck and I can bet my life she's going to burst into tears the moment I’m out of her sight.
“You're going to be punished for a crime you committed with Alina while she goes on living her life. While you serve your punishment, I want you to remember all the wrong decisions you've made ever since we stepped into this pack. The worst of which was you siding with Alina. I'm your sister and I was ready to be your friend so we could survive this Harem, but you took it upon yourself to make my life miserable. As much as I want to feel sorry for you right now, I'm happy you're finally getting what you deserve. Every night you spend in this cell, I want you to remember all the bad things you've ever done to me since the day you were brought into our home. Both the ones you still have fresh in your mind and the ones you've forgotten. Think of them all. It's time for you to face the consequences of your actions.” Her face is as red as beetroot by the time I'm done talking. Her eyes are pink and watery and I can see her blinking several times to prevent the tears from leaking out. She's breathing heavily and her shaky breaths tell me how angry she is.
