THE LYCAN KING’S SECOND CHANCE MATE

Chapter 0265

Chapter 265

REAGAN'S POV.

Ronald and the rest of the guards are trying to vacate the banquet hall. The rest of the Alpha's are chatting among themselves and I'm looking down at Alina's parents with a bitter taste of anger lining my mouth. That was a well executed set-up and proper investigation is not carried out, Ashanti could be punished for a crime she did not commit.

“Alpha Reagan.” Kyle calls, walking towards me and I turn to face him. He looks very angry about

the situation just like I am.

“I'm sure that servant, Lizzy, lied. I have to go have a talk with her again. Maybe she can change her words.”

“Thanks Kyle, but I'd love to have that conversation with her myself after I must have seen Ashanti.” I give him a gentle pat on his shoulder and slide past him.

“Are you going there right now?” He asks, catching up with me and I nod my head.

“I have to, else I'll lose my mind.”

“Alpha Reagan.” A voice calls, making me stop in my tracks. All five elders who had opposed my union with Ashanti during the last meeting we held, approach me with serious looks on their faces. I stare back at them, confused and wondering why they are blocking my path.

“What's the meaning of this?” I ask, looking from one face to another.

“I'm sorry my Lord, but you can't go to see Ashanti on your own. At least two elders must accompany you.” I'm not even surprised to hear that coming from elder Malcom. I look at him long

and hard. Too stunned to say anything and what I can finally manage is a chuckle. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

I chuckle hard.

Laugh even and they all look at me as thought I've lost my mind.

Well, I'm going to lose it for real if they don't stop talking nonesense.

“This is a joke right?” I ask, still chuckling. “You blocking my way. You telling me I can't see Ashanti unaccompanied is a joke, right?”

“No My Lord. I'm afraid it isn't. Ashanti is being accused of a grave crime that cannot be ignored and we all know how you feel about the situation. To prevent you from making any rash decisions, we

have to pay close attention to you. I'm sorry.”

“What rash decisions are you talking about?” I'm looking at him closely. I can see the fear swimming

in his eyes. He's terrified to be in my presence right now, spewing all this rubbish to me, but his hatred for Ashanti gives him the courage to stay standing before me.

“Well… My Lord. We know how you feel about her being locked up. We just want to prevent any chance of you trying to get her out of the dungeon when she hasn't paid for her crimes.”

“Paid for her crimes?” I chuckle in frustration. “You know what? I don't wanna have this talk with you. Please get out of my way before I lose my mind and do something I'll regret.”

“I'm sorry, Alpha Reagan…” That's Elder John. “We can't do that.” The five elders stay standing on their spots and I can't believe what my eyes are seeing. I can hear my raging heartbeats roaring in

my ears and all my senses are telling me to pick them up one by each and throw them against the wall furthest from me and I don't care if their old bones shatter in the process. The only thing that calms me down is Kyle's voice.

“Alpha Reagan.” He calls and steps in front of me real close. He can already see that I'm about to lose it. “How about we just go with the flow right now? We'll do all we can to get Ashanti out of

there…”

“That is my mate we are talking about!” I scold, swinging my fist, but he holds them still and plants them by my side, breathing just as hard as I am and struggling to keep our gazes locked in each other's.

“I know. And she's my Luna. I detest the fact that this is happening to her, but one wrong move from

any of us and we'll have the entire pack against us. We can't afford to let that happen.” He palms both my cheeks and holds my face in a tight grip, our gazes still locked. “You have to pull yourself together, Reagan.”

“I can't…”

“Look at me!” He roars and I do as told. His eyes have turned yellow. He's summoning his wolf. “I mean it. You have to pull yourself together and go with the flow for now while we find a way to get her out of there. We'll get to the root of this matter. We'll prove Ashanti's Innocence and get her out of there. Trust me on his.” He's breathing just as hard as I am and the sincerity I see in his eyes

makes my anger slowly dissipate.

I can't seem to find any way of this right now, but I trust Kyle's words. He never gives them out for nothing. So I nod my head and let out a heavy breath.

“Good.” He releases my face and steps away from me. Those pesty, annoying elders come into view again.

They look like they've won a victory against me.

According to them now, my relationship with Ashanti has hit rock bottom, but oh… how I'm going to surprise them.

I think I've been holding back for too long on this Alina's issue.

It's high time I found a way to show them who she really is!

“Fine.” I mumble and step forward. There's a no nonesense look on my face and my hands are curled in a fist by my side. “I’ll do as you command. For now. But there's something you need to know. Ashanti is innocent. I'm going to find a way to prove that and once that happens, all of you in

here will go on your knees before her and beg for her forgiveness and after that, the person I hear spreading a single false rumour about her will die by my hands. That is a promise.” With that, I walk past them and head to the door.

I mean every words I just said.
