The Moonlit Desires: Bound by Blood

Chapter thirty-four

Ava

Hmm

I smiled, dragging the soft duvet snugly closer to my chest as the sun streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow in the room. After the mindblowing s*x with Colton, I couldn’t help the smug smile forming on my lips. I couldn’t even remember the last time I had this intimacy with someone. After that moonlight feast, it is like Vincenzo has completely forgotten anything about satisfaction or s*x.

I tilted my head to the side, and as our eyes met, I could see the affection in Colton’s gaze. A mischievous glint sparkled in my eyes as I looked back at him.

“So,” He said playfully, breaking the comfortable silence, “what’s on your mind, Miss. Mischief Maker?”

I chuckled, gently brushing a strand of hair away from his face. “You know,” I began, my voice filled with a mix of frustration and mischief, “A lot has been on my mind lately.” Breaking our gaze, I shifted my focus to the ceiling, lost in my thoughts.

“Like,” I heard him mumble, his voice barely audible as he drew closer. Adjusting the sluggish pillow beneath him, he propped his head up with his elbow, his gaze locked with mine.

I tightly gripped the duvet with both hands, using it as a shield to cover my naked body. “It’s about Vincenzo,” I responded, my voice filled with a mix of suspicion and eagerness. A surge of anger flickered in my eyes, making my emotions clear.

My words seemed to have made Colton uncomfortable ’cause he cleared his throat a bunch of times before sitting up straight. He gave me this long, intense look before gently trailing his finger along my cheek. “So, what’s it about him?” he asked, curiosity lacing his voice.

“He’s been acting really strange,” I muttered, my voice filled with suspicion. I turned to face him, my eyes searching for answers. “Did he say anything to you?” I asked, hoping for some insight. He looked at me and shook his head, his expression mirroring my confusion.

“Acting weird, how?”

“I mean, I’m supposed to know all this stuff, since I am his fiance, right?” I chuckled, but there was a hint of bitterness in my voice. I clenched my teeth, feeling a wave of distaste wash over me. Colton rolled his eyes in response to my words. “But how can I possibly know anything when he’s deliberately keeping me in the dark?” I added, anger creeping into my tone.

“I’m still totally confused,” he raised an eyebrow, a look of bewilderment lingering in his eyes.

“He hasn’t been the same since that moonlight feast. It’s like he’s always lost in his own world, with no time for me,” I complained, frustration evident in my voice. I let out a deep sigh, my anger causing me to angrily turn my gaze back to the ceiling.

However, I blushed as Colton leaned in, his presence towering over me. He sensually left a trail of hot kisses down my neck, making my heart race. Finally, his lips met mine as he whispered, “You don’t have to worry about time. I’m here to care for you and keep you company.” He sealed his words with a gentle kiss on my side lips. A smile spread across my face as he playfully pinched my nose before settling back to his side.

“About the restlessness, I think it is because of the invasion of those beasts…….. Vincenzo is serious about tracking them,”

I shook my head in disapproval, a mischievous smile lighting up my face. “If I don’t worry about spending enough time with him, how will I ever know what’s going on in his life? To outsmart him, we need to be constantly involved, knowing everything about him. And you know what? I don’t think it’s just about those beasts,” I said, my voice filled with confidence.

“Then what should it be?” he asked, giving me a side look. I paused for a moment, contemplating my response. “Well, maybe it’s not just about the beasts,” I replied, meeting his gaze with a determined look. “There could be something bigger at play, something we haven’t discovered yet.”

“That…. That what,”

I had barely finished speaking when he suddenly chimed in, “Wait… Could it be about Emma?” His words hung in the air, causing me to pause as his question reverberated in my head twice.

Heaving out a heavy breath, I sharply snapped my head in his direction, giving him a fierce glare. “Not possible, Emma is dead,” I said, my voice filled with conviction. I rolled my eyes, murmuring under my breath.

An uncomfortable silence filled the room, and no words were said until his voice suddenly broke the still air. “Do you have feelings for him?” he asked, his voice filled with curiosity.

“What nonsense are you talking about?” I replied, my tone slightly exasperated.

“Then why did you feel attacked and suddenly angry at my suggestion?” he inquired, his eyes scanning my face for any information. I paused for a moment, gathering my thoughts before responding. “Which damn fuck up suggestion is that, Colton? Be reasonable for once,” I exclaimed, my frustration evident in my voice. “Having that thing in the picture will jeopardize our plans, and besides, Vincenzo never loved her,” I pointed out confidently.

Which causes him to lower his head in apology, his voice filled with remorse. “I’m sorry,” he said sincerely. “So, what’s our next move?” he asked, eager to make amends and move forward with our plans.

“Good,” I blurted out, my excitement evident in my voice. “You two have grown up together since childhood and are obviously best friends, so find out what might be eating him up,” I suggested.

He nodded at me, his expression determined. “I will do just that, but before then, we need a plan,”

“How?” I tilted my head at him, my eyebrows knitted together in confusion.

“We both can’t continue like this, hiding to meet each other. We need to work fast and out throw them. I want us to be public,” he said, his voice filled with longing.

Listening to him, I thoughtfully muttered, “Hmm, I don’t think we can go public just yet.” I understood the importance of being cautious and considering the risks involved. “There are still too many obstacles in our path,” I shake my head at him.

“That’s why we need to make a move, maybe end that Alpha Matteo,” he said, taking my hands in his as he affectionately glanced at me. My heart skipped a beat as he continued, “I love you, Ava,” he confessed.

Forcing out a smile, I uncomfortably pulled my hand away from his. “No, you’re not getting it,” I shook my head, trying to make him understand. “Alpha Matteo can’t be dead now… If we kill him, who will then put an end to that beast, King Alessandro? Obviously not Vincenzo,” I rolled my eyes at him, silencing his protests.

“Don’t even think about him,” I said, folding my arms across my chest. I sat upright, leaning against the headboard. “He’s like a weightless wind in front of that beast,” I snorted, feeling frustrated. I let out a sigh, trying to calm my racing thoughts.

As another eerie silence filled the room, we both seemed lost in our own thoughts. Hours passed and we remained still, no word were said. I glanced at the deep frown on his face and let out a sigh. Turning to face him, I gently placed my right hand over his, pulling his attention towards me. With a mischievous smirk, I revealed, “Alpha Matteo wants to send a treaty petition to King Alessandro.” His eyes widened in disbelief, and I could see the wild thoughts racing through his mind.

Hmm, just like I wanted.

“Since Alpha Matteo is still valuable now, we won’t strike, but…” I narrowed my gaze, the dreadful smile on my lips widening. He looked at me intently and asked, “Does Vincenzo support that?” I gave him a slow nod, shaking my head slightly.

“The relationship between the father and son isn’t stable right now, so our focus should be on breaking them apart. We need to sow more hatred and misunderstanding between them, destroying any remaining bond,” I said with a vicious smile. He responded with an “oh,”. “By jeopardizing their relationship, we ensure that no one will stand by him when the time comes,” I explained, emphasizing the importance of the plan.

“Not that bad,” he leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on my forehead, playfully pinching my nose. “You’re really smart, sweetheart,” he said, leaning back with a warm smile. I smiled and turned around, my gaze lost in the empty space, deep in thought.

And once that petition is sealed, Alpha Matteo, I will strike against you. I’ll break you just like I did to Emma. Nobody stands in my way. I deserve to rule… My gaze narrowed mischievously, my eyes flashing a brown color, indicating the presence of my wolf. A vicious smirk appeared at the side of my lips, revealing the darkness within me.
